This was my first ocean cruise and Holland America knows how to do it right. I didn't want to leave. From the get go, they have this down to a science. Kudos to their great employees that make it happen. I was very happy with my Veranda room. There were so many times were out on our deck just taking in all the scenery. Even enjoyed 2 bald eagles flying around in Ketchikan.

Perfect size!! Plenty of space to store luggage and clothes. Loved the size of the bathroom so much bigger than the one I had on my river cruise. Cabin was spotless when ever we returned.
Ship tip
Check the weather. I brought enough clothes but it wouldn't hurt to throw in an extra sweatshirt or fleece pullover. Of course, you can always pick up a new one at one of the ports too.
Perfect location where the ship docks so you can easily walk around. We did the 5 Glacier Sightseeing Float Plane excursion. Easy to get to our excursion location. So amazing to see the glaciers from the air and ride on the float plane.
I would give Ketchikan 10 stars if I could. My favorite spot. Just magical. We did the Totem Bight State Park and city tour. So interesting and the best part is the incredible walk around in the Tongrass Rain Forest. Would love to have stayed longer.
