Review summary

Overall it was a relaxing cruise, since I had been this route before, I didn't need to get off the ship or do excursions at every port. I read and napped, and sat out on the balcony. It was what I needed. Since I had been on this route before the pandemic, I can tell some things have changed and been a bit curtailed.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very fast an easy with the Verifly information completed on my phone. Short line, got right on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room food was good most of the time. We had the second seating, and felt that some of the food had been reheated. The Pinnacle Grill was outstanding! The Marketplace on Lido had a wide variety of food and was good. The burgers at the Dive Bar were very good. The wines I had were consistently good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There were not very many activities that were not tied to a promotion. I used the spa services and was treated very well, just be aware that there will be upselling. The gym has a good amount of equipment and was clean. I spent time up in the Explorer's Lounge which was a very nice hang out for reading.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Because we had the late seating for dinner, we did not get to see any of the big stage shows since they were at the same time. We did go to the Orange Party and had a great time, the band was very good. The dueling piano bar was strange in that people just sat around listening rather than singing along. I passed by the Lincoln Stage a couple of times and heard very beautiful music from the classical musicians.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was excellent all the way around and in every way.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was well maintained and spotless. Common areas were continually being cleaned.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect size and kept very clean.

Ship tip

Get a room with a balcony - worth it for the views.

Ports of call

Cruise Puget Sound

5 out of 5
Beautiful sailing away from Seattle.

CRUISE STEPHENS PASSAGE

5 out of 5
Beautiful views

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Did not do an excursion. Very walkable town, lots of local shops and pubs.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
The reason for the cruise. We had wonderful views from our balcony, so we did not need to fight for space on the bow.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

3 out of 5
Not much to do there, only shops open. Looks like it is only there for tourists to spend money. No local culture.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
Went on kayaking excursion and had a wonderful time.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Great port to walk around, were there so early there were not really any pubs open and was too early to eat.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
Gets in port too late to see Victoria. The bus driver for the Pendray Mansion High Tea excursion apologized that it would be too dark, but he did his best to show us Victoria. The High Tea was wonderful. My husband did the Brewery and Spirits tour, but since it was so late, there were no distilleries open, so it was only a brewery tour.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Loved the Port Valet that takes our luggage directly to the airline. Only line we had to wait on was the bus to take us to the airport.
