Review summary

Alaska is breath-taking. It's a one-of-a-kind destination that should be on everyone's cruise bucket list.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Used HAL Navigator, ArriveCAN and VeriFly Apps. No waiting in line for document verification.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Ship's main dining room had superb service. Special restaurants just so-so. Avoided the Lido Market. Seating is nice, but had to wait in mobs of pushy, rude people just to get food on plate.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The ship had plenty of on-board activities to choose from. Enjoyed trivia games and presentations by cruise director and officers. Naturalist had interesting information about Alaska wildlife and geography.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Love Holland's Music Walk. B.B. King's All-Star Band and Billboard On Board were great ways to spend the evenings. Dancers were also great.

Children's Programs

Not traveling with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters and room stewards are exceptional. My husband and I tested positive for COVID-19 on the last day of our cruise. We were quarantined in our cabin. Everyone on the Eurodam really helped us make the best of an unfortunate situation.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Eurodam is a beautiful ship. All the common areas were very clean and well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The bathroom was small, but I was impressed on how well the space was maximized. Our cabin stewards never failed keep it clean and stocked with supplies.

Ship tip

Ocean was very rough between Seattle and Juneau. Bring your sea-sick pills and stay in your cabin.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

3 out of 5
Person at the first guard box to the cruise was very rude, but embarkation went smoothly. The folks assisting us at disembarkation with COVID-19 were very polite and accommodating.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
The port was a frenzy of people, but we enjoyed our time in Juneau.

Cruise Glacier Bay

3 out of 5
Beautiful scenery, but no glacier calving. Eagles were the only wildlife we could see.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
Long wait in mobs of people for shore excursion to start, but enjoyed the Tlingit dance and story presentation.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
Sitka is a beautiful town. Learned a lot about the Russian influence. Wished we had more time to spend there.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
This port knows how to entertain the tourists.

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

We were in quarantine with COVID-19 when ship was in port.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We had to wait for all the passengers to disembark first, but it seemed very organized and timely.
