Spa weekend by khendrickson

My wife spent some time every day in the spa, we found the prices were great and the service was better! We're definitely going to book another cruise later in the spring...

Good for relaxation--but not sleep! by JZF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The cruise was relatively short (Mon-Fri) and had only one notable stop, Nassau.  A stop at Coco Cay was canceled due to high winds that eliminated tendering to shore.  The ship is "tired."  The décor is old and worn and a bit out of date.  Staff are courteous if not exuberantly friendly, except for dining room staff, who seemed to "get the idea..."  Food was excellent!  Lots of choices and well prepared.  Activities on board were modest, i.e., some trivia-type games, poolside competitions, evening music and shows.  The shows were good and mercifully held to one hour.  Movies on board were not appealing to most adults and were not of recent vintage.  The only "theater" I was aware of was outdoors by the pool--not attractive for cool February weather.  Overall, if you have a demanding job or otherwise stressful life, this was a good cruise to just sit back and relax, enjoy a few drinks and good food, and soak up the sun at poolside.  However, the beds were so bad, you are not likely to catch up on restful sleep!

good cruise, much better options out there though. by lyndseyk76

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I've been on many cruises. The service on this cruise was definitely lacking, compared to my previous experiences. Took at least about 20 minutes to get a drink, either at the bar or by the pool. I would NOT go on a 3 day cruise again. way too short. definitely would recommend 5 day or more.

extremely disappointed by suzanneyoung

Missed the ship in Cap Canaveral by 30 minutes (snowstorm in Toronto)

We flew to Nassau the next day and booked a room We later found out that the ship was in Nassau but no one contacted us.  We could have boarded the 2 nd day. At the pier 3rd day we waited ( crew was practicing a drill) When we finally did get on  our luggage was inspected one article at a time (IN THE LINE WHERE THE PASSENGERS GO ON AND OFF FOR THE EXCURSIONS and IN FRONT OF THE ELEVATORS).  We were embarrassed, frustrated and tired. There was also an incident concerning my daughter's meds for whi9ch I will file another official complaint.  Finally in the cabin ther were wet toels in bathroom and no soap, lotion .Someone had been using our cabin before we arrived.

Lunch was to start at 11:30 but wAS BROUGHT OUT AT 12:10.   Dinner was the greatest disappointment (horrible food) No snacks the next day at the Café...

Enjoyable but ... by jandubin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Relaxing cruise but we have been on several that made us feel spoiled and this one definitely didn't. The crew and staff were attentive to our needs but nothing exceptional. We were a little disappointed that our steward hadn't made up our room the first couple of days. When we finally brought it to her attention she said she doesn't do it unless a notice is put on the door requesting it. First experience with this on any cruise or cruise line we have sailed.  We had to request certain things in the dining room such as coffee, rolls and extras. We got what we asked for but on other cruises we haven't had to ask. Overall for the price it was enjoyable and we would do it again for a quick getaway and  choose otherwise for an extended cruise.

Great Cruise on Enchantment of the Seas by LauraC57070209

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Having taken a Royal Caribbean cruise 8 years ago and then several Carnival cruises, our family of 3 decided to go RC again. We had a great time even though it was only 4 nights. Food was excellent with a lot of choices, but Anytime dining wasn't as flexible as we wanted since we could only make reservations for all 4 nights for 7:45. We did however get the exact same table every night because of the same reservation time. We loved our Server and Assistant server and developed a fun relationship with them over the 4 nights onboard. Our 21 year old son had a great time speaking Spanish with our Columbian born Assistant Server Ivon! The only problem with our dining time is that it was right in the middle of all the shows, so we either had to leave early or arrive late which wasn't fun. There were lots of activities for folks of all ages. The ship was bigger than the Carnival cruise line ships and the crowd was much more mature. We missed one of our stops due to rough seas, but we enjoyed getting to Nassau earlier. Great trip! Will cruise Royal Caribbean and Enchantment of the Seas again!

Great Service by dburton228

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The Service was phenomenal and the staff was happy and accommodating.  The food was good and the atmosphere was awesome.  There we 18 of us cruising together and we all would do what we wanted and then come together at dinner and share our adventures.  The weather was not the best so we did not get to stop at Coco Kay but there was plenty of activities on the ship to keep us happy.

Good but expected more by bwhitman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

the dinners were good but desserts not so much. Service in dining room excellent but in the bars....not so much. One thing that bothered me quite a bit was that the rest rooms on the ship were very very small and there weren't many of them. Seems like a great breeding ground for the spreading of a virus.

Most Relaxing Cruise Ever by CathyBarber

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my fourth cruise and definitely the most relaxing one I've ever taken.  Our steward was friendly, efficient and helpful.  He kept our room so neat and clean; it was a pleasure just to spend time in it.  The wait staff in the My Fair Lady Dining Room, Deck 5, were absolutely wonderful.  They had great attitudes and were very attentive.  The bar staff were very friendly, efficient and entertaining.  We loved the Solarium--the pool, whirlpools, bar and cafe were all great.  We also really enjoyed the Windjammer Cafe on Deck 9.  The afternoon tea and casual dining were such a pleasure.  Our primary reason for taking this cruise was to get some much needed rest and stress relief, and we were easily able to accomplish this.  The only difficulty we encountered during and after the cruise was caused by the billing process for onboard purchases.  At the end of the cruise, both I and my friend were dismayed to find our charges were not divided as we had requested.  One of our Sea Pass accounts would periodically shut down throughout the cruise, and this necessitated several trips to Guest Services in an effort to sort out the incorrect billing.  Our Guest Services representative was very helpful and patient, but apparently she could not make the accountant understand which account should be charged for the various purchases.  None of our efforts to get this issue resolved were successful, and we had to do some serious financial juggling once we got back home and were able to access our bank accounts.  If you are planning on using more than one credit card to pay for extras, such as the one of the drink packages, please make sure to verify the charges on the last day of the cruise and once your arrive back home.  If you don't, you'll probably be wondering what caused the billing discrepancies on your account(s).

Less than Princess, Carnival and Norwegian for sure. by pbburwell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The staff is not friendly at all.  The dining room staff was great but the food and portions did not come close to the other ships.  The entertainment was horrible and I have been on 11 cruises and this was the least of all.  I ALWAYS enjoy my trips but this just didn't offer much.  The day in Nassau was great  but our tour was not from the ship.  We arranged it ourselves.  Overall I would say stick with Carnival and Norwegian for fun and kindness of staff.  The entertainment was one comedian(who was great) and dancers that did their thing(not dancing) one time.

Great short getaway by amagicalparty

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a wonderful time on this cruise with our 4 year old daughter. The staff on the ship are amazing, friendly and attentive. Even without booking excursions we were easily able to navigate Nassau Bahamas (beach and shopping very close to ship dock and a short inexpensive cab ride to Cabbage beach which is the same beach as Atlantis is on)  and enjoy Cococay (which was stunning!!!!)

carnival was better by bunnyprincess

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This is the second cruise I have been on, and right from the start it was worse than the previous one.  last time helped me through the whole process and was amazing... this time they were RUDE and short tempered.

The cruise ship itself seemed to have been designed for an older crowd, where the carnival ship was all about fun things to do.

One of the perks of cruises is all you can eat amazing food... NOT the case here!  We ordered room service breakfast... over an HOUR after it was supposed to be delivered they call and tell us it will be another 40 minutes... but the cafe closes in 10  minutes so if we hurry we can eat there... AWFUL SERVICE! AND literally 1 minute after the close the lunch buffet... the servers TAKE THE FOOD TRAYS FROM YOUR HANDS AND TELL YOU TO LEAVE! They just throw it away anyways... why not let me eat when I am ALREADY THERE AND PAID FOR IT!

One other thing that really stuck out for me was the entertainment.  Literally at every event/gameshow/gathering they bad mouthed carnival... EVERY TIME! That is completely disrespectful.... and not once on the carnival cruise  did they have bad things to say about other cruise lines.

I'm not sure if this was an awful representation of Royal Carribean, we had an amazing experience with carnival, or a combination.... but I would never pick Royal Carribean over Carnival again.

Great Winter Getaway. by kbeaver724

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We booked our January cruise early last fall at a great discount price.  We had a royal time on the Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas.  This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise.  The entertainment was 5-star quality in all venues.  The food was superb.  It has been quite a few years since we last cruised and we missed having midnight buffets with all the fancy ice carvings (like the ones we had on our Carnival cruise); however, there was one late night buffet by the pool.  Royal Caribbean offers three drink packages for each cruise, but we thought they were too costly for the value received.  Had we purchased the package we probably would have sampled more drinks, but as it was, we spent way less than the package deal.  The cruise offered many shore excursion packages, but we decided to relax on the ship at the private island (Coco Cay) stop and went ashore on our own in Nassau.  The ship has a very friendly staff and crew.  We would definitely sail with Royal Caribbean again.

Rough Beginning Good Ending by jmzobel09

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We found the check in process for Royal Caribbean to be very disorganized and unusually long. As we entered the check-in area we were directed to sit in a particular row, which we did. We continued to sit there for 30 minutes while realizing that others were being directed to stand in the check-in line. After questioning a RC rep. we were told that our row would be called and there was confusion as to the order that people entered. They then began lining up people with numbers that they passed out and assigned based on "the honor system". We saw people checking in that just entered the room as opposed to others still waiting like us, that had now been there waiting for 45 minutes. The entire check in process took us two hours. We have cruised many times before and this was the worst experience that we have had.

However, the rest of the trip was greatly improved. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Any problems that we encountered were quickly attended to and resolved.

Good time by knitpurl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The activities were fun, and much audience participation. The Buffet area, Windjammer, was well laid out.  The offerings for snacks in the evening, Park Café, was extremely disappointing.  The cruise lacked in efficiency.  Often there was not enough wait staff in the bar areas.  Most nights there was  a long line waiting to get into the dining room. Even getting to the parking and terminal itself in the port was extremely confusing, there was not enough signage. We drove around for 15 minutes in the port area.

Enchatment of the Seas by dawnmessineo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

While the staff was excellent, the food was terrible.  I have been on a lot of cruises, but this was by far the worst as far as the food goes.

I was disappointed that the spa had no sauna or steam room.  Additionally we had to ask for robes, and body lotion in the rooms.  This just added to the overall disappointment.

On the positive note, the Irish comedian was the funniest man I've ever heard.  Keep him,,,,he's a winner!

Lastly, the room steward left us an envelope for tipping which we included our tip.  Then we found out that tips are added to our bill.  We found this to be very misleading and basically was the last straw.  We will not be cruising again with RC.
