Review summary
We found the check in process for Royal Caribbean to be very disorganized and unusually long. As we entered the check-in area we were directed to sit in a particular row, which we did. We continued to sit there for 30 minutes while realizing that others were being directed to stand in the check-in line. After questioning a RC rep. we were told that our row would be called and there was confusion as to the order that people entered. They then began lining up people with numbers that they passed out and assigned based on "the honor system". We saw people checking in that just entered the room as opposed to others still waiting like us, that had now been there waiting for 45 minutes. The entire check in process took us two hours. We have cruised many times before and this was the worst experience that we have had.
However, the rest of the trip was greatly improved. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Any problems that we encountered were quickly attended to and resolved.

Two hours is way too long to have to wait for check-in. I was complaining to HAL that I had to wait 45 minutes, which I thought was too long. Cruise lines are taking all the fun out of cruising by not having enough personnel on hand to handle the situation. This is not a good way to start a cruise. Gloria
