Review summary

We booked our January cruise early last fall at a great discount price.  We had a royal time on the Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas.  This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise.  The entertainment was 5-star quality in all venues.  The food was superb.  It has been quite a few years since we last cruised and we missed having midnight buffets with all the fancy ice carvings (like the ones we had on our Carnival cruise); however, there was one late night buffet by the pool.  Royal Caribbean offers three drink packages for each cruise, but we thought they were too costly for the value received.  Had we purchased the package we probably would have sampled more drinks, but as it was, we spent way less than the package deal.  The cruise offered many shore excursion packages, but we decided to relax on the ship at the private island (Coco Cay) stop and went ashore on our own in Nassau.  The ship has a very friendly staff and crew.  We would definitely sail with Royal Caribbean again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We especially enjoyed the evening dining room. The food and service were top notch.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There were more activities than we could take in. We mostly watched.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Wow, what talent! We especially enjoyed Henry at the piano in the Schooner Bar.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Max and Roberto gave most attentive service at dinner.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Definitely not the newest, but nice. The ship was stretched about ten years ago and now has the largest pool deck of all cruise lines.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We could not believe all the storage space in our small interior stateroom. We didn't miss the ocean view, because we were in the room only to dress and sleep.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

We joined a local tour group for a 2 hour journey around the island, including a stop at The Atlantis.
