Had a really good time by elrod1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Sailed with 3 of my girlfriends and we had a great time.  The only thing that happen is I left my cosmetic bag aboard and it still has not been found.  I call as soon as we got off the ship when I discovered it was missing and it has still not been reported to lost and found when I called back on Friday. Otherwise I recommend this cruise for a fun and relaxing time though next time I do a cruise I think I will wait for the weather to be a little warmer. It was really windy when we went to Coco Cay and a little chilly to go into the water. I like the length of time too.  When I did a cruise in Alaska it was a 7 day cruise and I got bored and couldn't wait to get off the boat after the 5th day.

Great weekend get-away by tmschiff

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

A friend and I wanted a nice get away from the business of being soccer moms and this was great!  One more day at Castaway Cay would have made it perfect:)  The food was good and the entertainment was great!  I would recommend a chocolate buffet to make this cruise an even bigger hit for us ladies:)

Wonderful cruise experience. We had excellent weather. the boat was impeccable and the service was excellent. This was my mother's first cruise and she loved it! I have been on two other cruises and found this one to be comparable in quality.

Good Cruise by mmueller17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

No major complaints... nothing was "wrong" with the cruise or the experience. But, the ship was really showing its age. It seems old and needs overall updating throughout the entire ship. We did not experience any broken items or anything but small patches of rust, previous repairs, and a general feel that the ship needs to be refinished inside and out, etc. The shows and performers were great. The food was great. The cruise director was great. The pool area was very lacking relative to other ships. But, we knew this going on the trip. Still, when it came time to spend time with the kids on deck, they were really missing water slides and a water play area. This ship has pools but not a slide or those kinds of things. We had great weather. We've cruised to Nassau several times in the past- this itinerary was different because we stayed in port until midnight. Be aware however that Nassau closes at 6PM and I don't mean SOME places in Nassau close at 6PM, EVERY place in Nassau closes at 6PM. If you've ever been at a mall when it's time to close-- chain doors down, push you out of the store, lock the doors in your face kind of close-- that's Nassau at 6PM! So, what we thought would be one experience, ended up with us missing our dinner seating on the ship and eating at the buffet because there was nowhere in walking distance in Nassau that was open for dinner (except Senior Frogs and Sharkeez). But, that's not a knock on the ship or the cruise, just something to be prepared for if you decide to go.

Over all we had a great time and that's what it's about, but the 3/5 stars relates to the ship itself, not our experience. Compared to other ships, it was lacking.... but, if you're like us, you can have a great time with family and friends sitting around sharing a drink in a garage somewhere.

Food was terrible by reneerobinsony

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

The food on the ship was terrible. The midnight buffet was the worst I have ever seen. Very disappointed. The room was fine. There were several really rude staff members. I would not take this cruise again.

Fantastic weekend getaway! by amberhyster1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We were looking for a weekend away from the daily buzz of life and wanted some "guaranteed sunshine" during these rough winter months we've been having up north. This was the perfect amount of time! We especially loved the private island. Service was phenomenal, food delicious. We booked a "guaranteed stateroom" and ended up with a gorgeous oceanview suite. This was our first cruise and we will ABSOLUTELY do it again. I also recommend flying down a day early and staying over night in Cocoa Beach. We did a package with Comfort Inn & suites where they included shuttle service from the airport to hotel, hotel to port, and port back to airport. Very good experience all around!

This is the second year in a row my sister and I have booked and taken a cruise together. The experience was great, from start to finish. Straight forward booking, great balcony cabin, wonderful room service and the wait staff in the dining-room were attentive and fun. The meals were very tasty. We'll definitely be booking again!

Excellent for first time cruisers by patjacks

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was bonding time for me and my sister. My sister's first time cruising and she had the best time for a mini vacation ever! She looks forward to the next time, hoping that we can get the other sister's to join us. The service was great, and the crew on this ship were very nice and willing to help give directions and even assist us with some of the activities that were held on the ship. The only problem is one of the comedians wasn't funny at all. The Entertainment Director Enzo was very entertaining and keep the shows going! They had a great 70's and 80's show, Love and Marriage, along with Quest. We weren't impressed with a lot of the music that was played because it included a lot of rap, and we felt they could have played a little bit less rap without the curse words at least. Overall, this cruise was just enough to get your feet wet if you have never cruised before and to see if you like cruising and to make sure you don't get sea-sick. We only wish we had a couple more days on the water or at least one other stop.

Older ship but great service by Mathenbe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This ship is older and does have some issues due to age. Our shower stall was definitely in need of replacement and the public restrooms often smelled. This, however, would not stop me from returning to this ship. If you have gotten used to the beauty of ships such of the Freedom class and up you may want to consider other options.

The customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly and efficient. I appreciated that the cabin steward was respectful of our privacy while still keeping our room clean and stocked.

We Made the Best of It! by jsmnturk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I booked this cruise in Oct 2014 for my daughters 8th birthday. I only went with Royal Carribean because of the Barbie experience. My plan was to invite 5 of her friends and pay for the Barbie Experience package for each child. When her bff mother booked the cruise in January 2015 we learned they no longer offered the Barbie Experience. I was furious. I spent over $1100 (paid for 3 people) for this cruise for my soon to be 8 years old to learn a month before we sailed she's not going to have her Barbie Experience. Well of course I had to suck it up and make the best of it. The ship was just ok. There wasnt a lot of family activites especially being at sea for two days. The weather sucked and we didnt make it to CoCo Kay on day 3 (which was another let down). Im not sure if I wold ever go on Royal Carribean again. The crowd was mainly senior citizens and a large group of 15 years old girls celebrating their quinceanera. Although this trip was to celebrate my daughter, being able to mingle with my age group would have made things a little better. I'll give the trip a 6 out of 10 stars.

maintenance issues by lsdoucet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

the toilets did not flush on 2 different days - it was taken care of quickly but was disconcerting nontheless.  There was maintenance done in the hall leading to our stateroom.  The food was good but did not compare to what we were served on our Celebrity cruise earlier in the month.  Entertainment was amazing.

Solid value by christopherhaye

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

A good opportunity for family bonding, despite weather that did not cooperate.  Good food, good service, and a variety of activities on a ship that was in better condition than its age might lead one to expect.

Good for relaxation--but not sleep! by JZF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The cruise was relatively short (Mon-Fri) and had only one notable stop, Nassau.  A stop at Coco Cay was canceled due to high winds that eliminated tendering to shore.  The ship is "tired."  The décor is old and worn and a bit out of date.  Staff are courteous if not exuberantly friendly, except for dining room staff, who seemed to "get the idea..."  Food was excellent!  Lots of choices and well prepared.  Activities on board were modest, i.e., some trivia-type games, poolside competitions, evening music and shows.  The shows were good and mercifully held to one hour.  Movies on board were not appealing to most adults and were not of recent vintage.  The only "theater" I was aware of was outdoors by the pool--not attractive for cool February weather.  Overall, if you have a demanding job or otherwise stressful life, this was a good cruise to just sit back and relax, enjoy a few drinks and good food, and soak up the sun at poolside.  However, the beds were so bad, you are not likely to catch up on restful sleep!
