Review summary
No major complaints... nothing was "wrong" with the cruise or the experience. But, the ship was really showing its age. It seems old and needs overall updating throughout the entire ship. We did not experience any broken items or anything but small patches of rust, previous repairs, and a general feel that the ship needs to be refinished inside and out, etc. The shows and performers were great. The food was great. The cruise director was great. The pool area was very lacking relative to other ships. But, we knew this going on the trip. Still, when it came time to spend time with the kids on deck, they were really missing water slides and a water play area. This ship has pools but not a slide or those kinds of things. We had great weather. We've cruised to Nassau several times in the past- this itinerary was different because we stayed in port until midnight. Be aware however that Nassau closes at 6PM and I don't mean SOME places in Nassau close at 6PM, EVERY place in Nassau closes at 6PM. If you've ever been at a mall when it's time to close-- chain doors down, push you out of the store, lock the doors in your face kind of close-- that's Nassau at 6PM! So, what we thought would be one experience, ended up with us missing our dinner seating on the ship and eating at the buffet because there was nowhere in walking distance in Nassau that was open for dinner (except Senior Frogs and Sharkeez). But, that's not a knock on the ship or the cruise, just something to be prepared for if you decide to go.
Over all we had a great time and that's what it's about, but the 3/5 stars relates to the ship itself, not our experience. Compared to other ships, it was lacking.... but, if you're like us, you can have a great time with family and friends sitting around sharing a drink in a garage somewhere.
