Great first experience cruising! by JEM23

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Get a balcony room, we loved eating breakfast on our balcony, sipping mimosas. It was wonderful, and relaxing. Our wait staff and room attendant were so much fun! Loved the rock climbing wall on the back of the ship.

Horrible Ship by Tyeboo3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My experience on this ship was horrible. The food was the worse that I have ever eaten since cruising. This is my 7th cruise and my 4th on Royal Carribean. RCCL should be ashamed of themselves. The ship was dated and needed major upgrades. There was a black ring in my toilet that looked disgusting every time we used the bathroom. A few of the staff were rude. On the last night the ship was rocking which made some passengers nauseous. While at dinner a passenger threw up at the table and it took awhile for maintenance to clean it up. I was totally disgusted. At dinner service the food was cold. Just awful.

I KNOW YOU CAN'T HELP IT BUT THE WEATHER WAS TERRIBLE AND IT RUINED THE CRUISE. THE CAPTAIN NEVER ADDRESSED THE PASSENGERS OVER THE INTERCOM, THERE WERE NO POSITION UPDATES ON THE ROOM TV. THE STAFF WAS AS ALWAYS WAS PLEASANT AND HELPFUL.

Ship to shore calling is a profitable scam. by wsantiago482

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Royal Caribbean (RC) charges $7.96 per minute to call from your stateroom to shore. This fee will be charged even if the call is made using an international calling card. There's no disputing this point with guest services. This service must evolve. I know it is posted every where but that doesn't mean the service can not evolve. This was my 4th Royal Carribean cruise and my 5th cruise in total. I'm not a stranger to the experience. Regardless, even after three great massages, two park west art auctions with multiple buys; the archaic phone service bothers me the most. You should have full autonomy on how much you disconnect during your vacation. The company who claims you will have a blast while cruising with should have the options available to the market demographic they cater to. This specific cruise was a low budget cruise, most passengers who purshase this type of cruise are expecting bargains. You see it every where. At the photo gallery when they learn one printed photo is $20 or a CD is $250. When they check out the spa and see a massage or treatment will cost over $100.

They do well with the shows sometimes. The food service and other staff is amazingly hospitable. These facts are unrefutible, as the fact that the $7.96 per minute calls with no other provided options are ridiculous. I can't say it enough, this service must evolve.

Enchantment of the sea by jydickens

Tides were to high at cocacay so we weren't able to leave the boat. Service was excellent but all the food was warm except in Chops. Excellent customer service.

Royal Caribbean cruise 4 nights bahamas by jefffelmlee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This is our 4th cruise as a family of 6 people.  Royal caribbean has been a good choice.  Subtle differences exist between the cruise lines - with Royal being more family oriented compared to Carnival (the one two we've used).  Royal does not offer as many activities overall, and some food areas are more limited.  example: Carnival has a couple of places always open for food - with one being pizza, they also have multiple ice cream machines at multiple locations (Royal may have one and it's not always working).   These are minor items, but do make a difference to our kids (and sometimes to us).

A great experience by georgegibson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I took my Aunts and Uncle from Jamaica on their first cruise and they had a great time. What we found outstanding was the service by the crew. Our room service and dinning room attendants were excellent and took great pride in their work. So overall it was a good experience one that my family will remember for a long time.

Great Experience by mpcmerchant

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

This was a great experience on one of Royal Caribbeans smaller ships. The personnel were fantastic and the cruise director staff kept things humming at all times. We enjoyed it and wish we could go again real soon.

Honeymoon Heaven by gandalfofborg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Staff: Friendly, helpful, understanding.

Room: balcony.  Plenty of room, bed could've been better but didn't really use it.  Always well taken care of by attendant.

Food: plenty of it at buffets, quality was good.  Off-hours dining though was more limited than expected.  Formal dining was a treat, staff was wonderful. Didn't eat at the private restaurant.

Activities: plenty of activities for all ages.  Had fun shopping and going to the art auctions.  CocoCay was great, enough to do and relax as well.  Nassau was interesting and awesome deals at the shops.

Beautiful Ship by diamondgirle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I loved "Enchantment Of The Seas" Royal Caribbean. The ship was beautiful. I have only sailed twice before both cruises on Carnival. This ship seamed to be more updated. I was told Royal Caribbean is a more laid back ship everyone asleep by 9pm. That was not the case. There was always something fun going on game shows, singing contests, and some kind of party on the lido deck with an open buffet late nights. I cruised with a 1 year old and 8 year old and all went great. A pack and play was provided milk was always available when needed. The only thing I have to say is the "splash pad" is extremely slippery! This is a designated toddler area that needs some attention. With water shoes they'll be fine. I watched every single child slip and fall in this area. It needs some type of non slip coating. Its a danger zone. The pools were great 2 pools on lido deck plus the solarium which is so beautiful. The buffet was not open as long as I would have liked you will have to watch these times or else you will find yourself looking for food. Great service in the dining room we had an awesome waiter named Edmund. House keeping was twice a day room always nice and tidy. I loved the private island at Coco Cay beautiful lots to do and they host a wonderful lunch on the island. Overall great cruise will definitely sail Royal Caribbean again :)

not very pleased with ship by martaike

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The beaches were very nice at ports of call. However the ship is old and you can tell. Our bathrooms were very smelly like sewage. The food selection at the sit down dining was terrible, but the service was great. This is our 2nd time on this boat and the first time wasn't so great either. The only reason we booked this cruise is because all the other ones were sold out.

Enchantment by mullanejoan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall, the 4-day cruise was good.  The one thing Royal Caribbean should do is go to their website and pull up the large interior room.  It shows an inside room with a sofa.  We had an inside room and their was no sofa.  My husband went to the Service Desk and brought this to their attention.  He was told they would credit his account $50.  Then I had a phone call that told me there was never a sofa in an inside room.  If we had known this, we would have booked a balcony room which would definitely have more space.  So, RC should get this off their website.  Later during the cruise my husband inquired about the $50 supposedly credited to our account and he was told that didn't happen and wasn't going to happen.  Other than that, the food and service was excellent and the adult area was really nice.  We were sitting in the back in the theater at one of the shows and had to leave due to a "raw sewage smell".  Other people left as well.  Never did find out what that was.  I was especially excited about going on this cruise because my first cruise ever was on the Enchantment years ago, and I would still recommend it.

Sadly, disappointed by brandiboo1982

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I've always cruise Carnival but decided to venture out and try Royal Caribbean. I wish I hadn't. The food was not good. The service was poor other than, Edy, our cabin housekeeper, who was amazing and kind! There weren't many activities for families other than pool/movie nights, and some movies weren't suitable for children. I traveled with my nephews, who are both special needs. They were treated poorly by the staff at the trampolines and ultimately, were denied the activity, which broke their hearts. They have Autism. It is nothing to do with any sort of physical disability. I hope Royal Caribbean will educate their staff so something like this doesn't occur again. All in all. I will stick to Carnival. Never once had a bad experience there compared to the many I had with Royal Caribbean.

Staff was amazing and did anything they could to assist or help us during the cruise. Very helpful and patient. I just wish the people that paid for the cruise were nearly as nice as they were.

Cruise review by bayhood1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The room was nice, our room attendant was outstanding. We enjoyed the food both at the buffet service at the windjammer and in the formal dining area. Our servers at the dining area were outstanding. Our favorite part of the cruise was the live performances in the Orpheum theater. Our experience at Cococay was fair. Nassau seemed pretty run down with alot of emphasis on tourist junk and high end jewelry. I would have liked to spend more time on historical features. Overall we did enjoy the cruise and would go again.

Bahamas Cruise by timm162

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We arrived for boarding about 1PM. The lines seemed long, but the whole process only took about 30 minutes. We had read reviews about how much updating the ship needed; we thought the ship seemed just fine.

We ate in the main dining room each evening using "My Time" option. Our servers were pleasant and friendly. The food for the most part was very good.

The entertainment was similar to what we have encountered on other cruises. We had a comedian and a juggler who were both entertaining. The staff singers and dancers were typical cruise ship--good but not fantastic.

This was a four day cruise that stopped at Coco Cay and Nassau. Coco Cay was a fun beach day with  a decent lunch  provided. The snorkeling was pretty sad from the  shore, but the water was amazingly clear. There were plenty of chairs. We didn't  do any excursions. Nassau reminded me of most other Caribbean ports; plenty of shopping if you were in the market. We booked a snorkeling trip outside of the cruise line.
