Good Value by spiveycam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This cruise met all of my expectations. The staff on this boat is incredible. They do an awesome job housekeeping and the bartenders were super friendly and knowledgable. The restaurant waiters were so kind.

This ship will keep you busy with things to do! You never had to go far to find entertainment or rest and relaxation. I loved the quiet lounge.

The food was about 3/5. However, Chops Grille is worth the money. Their filet mignon was one of the best i've ever had. They also have an amazing staff!

Overall, I had a good time on and off the boat. Coco Cay was so gorgeous! You get your money's worth on this cruise. I would go again.

Disappointment by jfrosty

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The service in the dining room and cabins was the best part of the cruise.  The food in the dining room was mediocre at best and the most disappointing aspect.  Also, the information dissemination about events, times, places, debarkation, etc. was very skimpy. Anna the piano player was good but there was very little quiet time or place to enjoy relaxed music with which older folks could identify. Also, there was no band that played popular recognizable "covers" nightly.  The ship should insure that the "trivia" contests (particularly Harry Potter) were conducted by staff familiar with the subject and the pronunciation of the names and places.

Good first cruise... by Cruiser38

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Royal Caribbean / Enchantment of the Seas provided a great first cruise experience.  Cabin was clean and well laid out (Jr Suite / Balcony).  Cruise was well planned and executed.  Staff could not have been more helpful.  Food was good - dining experience was good (Great wait staff).

Biggest complaint was R/C website.  Extremely hard to get on and navigate.  Information available was minimal and at best - misleading (ie. drink packages, internet and shore excursions).  Much better information provided on-board ship which will be helpful on next cruise.

Will cruise Royal Caribbean again.

Annual Cruise with my Grandson! by barbmerritt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The ship is in desperate need of a thorough painting.  There were a LOT of areas where rust was showing and it detracted from the overall look of the ship.  The wait staff was not as good as in past cruises.  I was told on the second night that the ship was out of sparkling water and was given club soda instead, but to my surprise on the second night, after being in CocoCay all day, I again asked for sparking water with dinner and it magically arrived.  The bathrooms had a strange odor in them most of the time and the toilet in our stateroom had to be flushed numerous times.

I was also not sure why we remained in Nassau until 11 pm when most of the shops closed at 6.  I believe it was because we were sailing to CocoCay the next day.  I am a Platinum member, now Emerald after this sailing, so I have sailed on many ships and was disappointed with the condition of the ship and the wait staff on this particular cruise.

Atlantis by memeltaylor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My excursion to Atlantis was extremely expensive and awful. I paid 2100.00 for my family to swim with the Dolphins and go to Atlantis (which I found very expensive).

I never would have booked the dolphin swim if I had known you had me going in the middle of the day. There was no way we could have done the water park.. They we able to go down 2 slides before we had to go back to the ship. (Which made that about $100.00 per slide)I am going to pursuegetting a partial refund. I think you should explain to people more how long the dolphin swim takes and then they can judge whether they can do both.

Very Disappointed Grandmother

Terrible food/ Did Not follow ADA policies by mariel615

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My mother was on a cane and one of the activities was in the lounge on the 11th floor. The elevator was not stopping on the 11th floor and only went up to 10 so she was not able to climb up stairs. We also witnessed a lady in a wheelchair who was unable to use the pool due to the wheelchair access being broken.

Food was mediocre and always brought to us cold since it just sits in a plastic container.

We went to go see the sexiest man competition on the pool deck. The staff barely attempted to recruit the men and when no one signed up they just cancelled it and walked away without effort. This was my 6th cruise and I have never saw the staff cancel an activity before.

The highlight of my trip was when we were able to leave the ship. The whole ship just seemed old and beat up. My pillow sheets had stains on them and shower was unsanitary.

I probably will try another cruiseline moving forward.

Enchantments by raeofsun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Compared to the cruise we took last year on Majesty of the Seas, the Enchantment was not as clean, and some of the employees  were not as friendly or professional. Especially the bartenders at the pool. They were not friendly or fast. The bartender on Deck 11 was however awesome and very friendly. The ship was also not as clean, mirrors dirty, smelled musty, fixtures old, rusted, and the rug in our room by the toilet was wet. Our room attendant also was amazing. The entertainment was great and we loved the cruise director. Also the food was good and we loved how we could have food anytime all the way up to 2a. Also on this cruise we had the premium drink package which we found to be very beneficial. Although the ship was a bit older and different we still had an amazing time and booking this cruise using with Lindas help made this so much better.

4 night Bahamas Cruise on Enchantment of the Seas by isacristina5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Cruising on Enchantment of the Seas was a great experience. Being one of their older boats, I believe there are some areas that need maintenance and updating. Bahamas destination is great for guests who are interested in sitting back and relaxing without the need of purchasing shore excursions given that beaches are easily accesible from port. Key West is a great shopping destination but requires a method of transportation (bikes, mopeds, trolley) in order to experience the whole island. Overall, this cruise was a great experience and I recommend it for adults who need to get away for a few days.

The cruise from hell!! by silveroptima

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Your agent was requested to have a refrigerator and sharpie box in the cabin. Needless to say the ship informed me that they never received an order for these items.

Also I requested a quite cabin. The cabin I was staying in was over the disco and every night the music was blasting and my wife an I couldn't get any sleep until after 1:00 PM in the morning when the music stopped.

Had other issues that I am going to write the cruise line about.

This was by far the worst ship I was ever on and I have been on most brands over the 30 years. This just wasn't a RC ship in my humble opinion.

By the way one of your reps called me today as a follow up on the completed survey.

She offered me a refund of $25.00 and a $100.00 credit for an next cruise if I book through one of your companies.

Considering that I have been a loyal client of many years with all of your sister firms as well I feel the compensation could have been better.

Especially what we went though with the cabin situation which by the way I tried to change but the ship didn't have anything available.

Between the issues I had with your firm and the ship and cruising for 30 years at lest two times a year the compensation for this terrible cruise I feel could have been a lot better.

I will never work with this travel agent again and am considering  about doing anymore business with any of your firms.

We have a cruise that we intend to take in Feb. for my mother in laws 80th birthday and will require 13 to 20 cabins I'm afraid to give you this business on what can happen with these may cabins versus just the one that booked.

Thank you,

Howard Morris

Disappointing Snorkel Tour on Private Island by Lenslady

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Being with my grand daughter was the best part of the cruise.  The food was good also.  The shows on the ship were great.  Really enjoyed them.

The snorkel tour was terrible.  Don't waste your money.  No one was there to give you a "TOUR".  Just gave you the gear and sent you one your way.  I wanted to see all the things they talked about but there was no one there to direct you.  I spoke with the cruise director and he said "that is the way we do it"!  I told him I was very disappointed and he said Oh well.  Not sorry. Not thanks for letting me know.  Very arrogant.  Don't waste your money on the beach, snorkel tour.

Quite surprised by gupguthrey

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had so much fun on our first cruise it really was not as stressful as I thought it would be everything lined up just right and I would definitely do it again. We had fun and I would definitely recommend the premium package on drinks turned out to be the best 250 I could spend in the grand scheme of things the excursions were amazing and now I have memories we will never forget we will be taking another one and definitely recommend you do the same I would however say the Windjammer was quite busy during peak hours

A great experience! by chrisboricua

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I had a great experience on the cruise. But please if you see anything in your room don't eat it or use it. You might get charge. Other than that I had a great time. The staff is very friendly I only encounter one that was very unfriendly. The room and other areas in the cruise were very well cleaned. Good job!

Definitely cheapthe by drbill122745

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

A cruise is always relaxing, but some cruises are more relaxing than others.  It's often the little things that make the difference.  This cruise was lacking the little amenities that veteran cruisers take for granted, like chocolates on your pillow at night, like friendly and attentive bar staff.  The food, an important part of any cruise, was strictly mediocre, at best.  The barbecue on Coco Cay had the same food as the ship-board buffet--except on the ship you didn't have to fight the seagulls for lunch.

On the positive side, the entertainment was generally good, and the musicians were excellent.

I would recommend this cruise for first time cruisers; cruise aficionados should look elsewhere.

Great SURPRISE Getaway by cdionf

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a great time just enjoying one another and resting.  Free from technology to just relax. There are sections on the ship like the solarium which was nice and quiet....a great place to unwind without having kids running through. The weather was wonderful for a great game of volleyball. Senor Frog is always a great spot to get great food and DRINKS.

short trip by loriblankenship

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I would recommend Royal Caribbean, however I felt that the beds were not comfortable, where the two beds are put together forms a hump that makes it uncomfortable to sleep close to your partner.

The bar areas take way too long to be waited on, the bar staff are working as hard as they can however the process for them is impossible to complete in a speedy manner.  The beer and mixed & frozen drinks should be separated, either at each bar or a bar of their own.  The bartenders have to walk back and forth and back and forth then to the cash register to to print ticket and back again to get it signed then back again to put in drawer.  There just has to be a better way.  Also the fact that you cant get more than one beer at a time gets frustrating.
