A Great Way to Vacation by DawnG27130161

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Having never cruised before on RCI, we were really impressed with the ship itself. It was clean and uncrowded. The staff everywhere was extremely helpful, except when we asked for additional pillows in our stateroom.

It could have been better! by RonnieL1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was very relaxing in spite of the disappointments. Disappointed that we did not make it to the Cayman Islands; however, understand why. Disappointed that the Jaimaca trip was cut short, since we didn't make it to the Caymans. Totally disgusted with the smell on Deck 2, the fear of brushing my teeth with brown water, and the smell of sewer on Deck 2 - most disgusting smell ever! I should have received a 15% discount on our excursion, which I thought was automatic, but did not receive. Enjoyed the Christmas decorations, the piano music, the salsa lounge - Boleros, and the Spectrum's Motown music.

A less than enchanting cruise by SteveB13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Unknown to us, there were ongoing engine issues with the Enchantment which prevented it from achieving maximum cruising speed. Some passengers were notified well in advance of the nature of the problem, we were not notified of the itinerary change until 2 days prior to departure and we did not learn the cause of the change until on the ship. This issue significantly shortened our stay in port and we would have likely made a change to our schedule had we known in advance of the issues. We also could not make the port of call in Grand Cayman due to high seas, which apparently is a common occurrence. In addition to the disappointment of not seeing Grand Cayman, this caused us to spend an additional day at sea which caused the activities to be somewhat limited.

A wonderful cruise by SusanB29

This was my first time on the Enchantment of the Seas, I truly thought that it was a wonderful ship. The service was great and the service staff were excellent. They were always ready to help you and were most pleasant at all times. The food was great and our waiter who was George was a delight, he had a terrific personality and was most charming. The selection each evening in the My Fair Lady dining room was plentiful with great varity. I would certainly recommend this ship to my friends and family.

My first but not last cruise by CandaceP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

The ship was huge. I had five days on the ship and did not see all it had to offer. This was my first time to take a cruise and I was impressed. I really enjoy the team members. My 2 year old little girl went with me and the staff always had to speak to her. By the end of the cruise everyone knew her by name. I really liked the trip and would insist that you stay on Enchantment Of The Seas.

Beautiful, however some of the common areas seemed a little dated. Everything was in great condition though...

Almost Perfect by BurtM

This was our family's fourth trip on the Enchantment and each cruise we felt was better than the last. No more large ships for us. Our last cruise aboard the Liberty of the Seas was disappointing. We appreciate the more personal attention we receive aboard the Enchantment of the Seas.

The ship was very clean and well kept. The wait staff in the restaurant were very cheerful I don't know how they can keep up the pace. Over all I think the cruise director does a outstanding job of keeping the guests very entertained.

This was my second cruise aboard the Enchantment. I do believe the services have improved. The ship is beautiful but showing wear in places. The crew members were always pleasant.

ultimate service by LarryE4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

THE STAFF AND SERVICE ABOARD THE ENCHANTEMNT OF THE SEAS WERE EXQUISITE, THE STAFF FROM THE TIME WE BOARD TIL THE TIME WE LEFT WERE BETTER THAN ANY FIVE STAR HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT. THE DINING WAS LIKE GOING TO AN ULTIMATE FEAST ON A DAILY BASIS FROM BREAKFAST TO LUNCH TO LATE NIGHT DINING. WE PROBABLY HAD THE MOST CAREFREE VACATION WE HAVE HAD IN MANY YEARS AND WOULD RECOMMEND CRUISING AS AN ALTERNATIVE SOURCE FOR VACTIONING TO ANY WHO HAVE CONSIDERED IT. IF YOU HAVE BEEN PONDERING CRUISING LIKE WE HAD, TAKE THE PLUNGE AND YOU WILL NEVER BE SORRY FOR MAKING THE CHOICE.

WHAT A JOKE by IlyaD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We cruised before on different criuse lines and this was our FIRST and LAST time with Royal Caribbean. The only reason we got on this cruise was Belize stop. One day prior departure we got informed that ship will change itinerary because of failure in electrical system (ship can not travel at high speed at sea). Later, after Cozumel stop, ship had emergency with crew member and we have to turn around and travel at HIGH speed (22 kn/h) back to Cozumel. So instead of Belize we stoped at their small private dirty island where they can charge you for everything, even for snorkeling with your own equipment. WHAT A JOKE!

Relaxing Time by BettyN2

I travel with someone disabled so the ship is not too big to get around and enjoy. Big ships are nice however sometimes difficult for the disabled to walk just to go to eat dinner.

Great Escape! by TerriM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Fantastic experience on the Enchanment of the Seas. The ship has recently been refurbished and stretched to make it larger. It now has suspension bridges, new restaurants, a fantastic new pool area and a new salsa nightclub. We enjoy Royal Caribbean's style and family dedicated service. The main dining room service was special, but the Windjammer buffet gets very crowded and is not worth the hassel. Our statesroom was clean and comfortable. It had lots of storage and we did not feel cramped. The entertainment was top shelf, we even had a surprize show featuring the Nelson Brothers. Overall the ship was really impressive, the staff was wonderful as always, and even if you've sailed on Enchantment before, she's worth a second look.

Awesome Awesome The Best by DavidD11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We recently sailed on the Enchantment of the Seas for the firstd time, and all I can say is "awesome!". We knew the ship had been refurbished and stretched to make it larger, but we had no idea what to expect. We really like Royal Caribbean's style, service, and innovative ships, and the new Enchantment did not disappoint us. The dining choices were really excellent. The Windjammer buffet really isn't a "buffet" it's like a cool marketplace/food court with many more choices, stations you can approach from all sides (so no endless line!). Very wide-open and airy feeling, a huge step up from the typical ship buffet. We loved all the nightlife options. The shows were great but we really enjoyed the latin club, Boleros, the Champagne Bar and the live music at Schooner's Pub. Felt like a totally different night out, every single night. The Seattle's Best coffee shop and the Ben and Jerry's didn't hurt, either! The ship features are most apparent on the pool deck, truly one of the most beautiful we've ever seen. The multi-color splash pool and suspension bridge are amazing, but the best element has to be the Oasis Bar. Right in the middle of the pool area, the bar has panoramic oceanviews (and barstools facing the ocean) and a section behind the bar with a glass floor that fans out over the water. If you're not afraid of heights, it's an amazing sight! Our stateroom was cozy and had some great features. Lots of storage elements have been aded, easy to unpack and fell like there was a place for everything. Overall we have to say the ship was really impressive, the staff was wonderful.

Disappointment by KenW1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very disappointing cruise. On board entertainment was lousy and the biggest downer was not being able to go to the ports we paid for. We turned around because someone was sick which made us miss our next scheduled port and we changed itinerary because of an electrical problem (before we sailed) and because of it we had to tender out and spend most of the day in port Cozumel fighting for a tender to go ashore. Wasted at least two hours of a 6 hour port stay with the tenders!!! Royal Caribbean should be ashamed of thier treatment of the passengers. I blame the captain for his inability to handle situations. Could we not have had a medevac helo come out for the sick individual--we were barely 2-3 hours out of port--which must have been all of 50 miles??? And could you not get the electrical problem fixed before we sailed . The excuse was we could only make 19 knots so we had to vary the schedule---but we made 21.5 kts coming back to get home???

Mediocre at best by DebiC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Not in the best condition, especially the Pool Deck. Dining room food was sometimes reheated and not great, plus service relatively slow. One of the ship personnel actually laughed when I told her we were ripped off by the cab driver in Jamaica, which really upset me. I will say the entertainment was outstanding, our waiter was very nice and we had a very cute and pleasant assistant waiter named Ding, who was especially nice. Also Enrico, the head waiter, was very attentive and even bought us feta cheese every night because we mentioned we liked it. Our room attendant was also especially nice. But there was very little room in the Windjammer for dining, and it was very difficult to get a table. There wasn't much on the ship for the teens to do. Also, my father's arm got slammed in a malfunctioning door and required medical treatment. Jamaica is a terrible port and we did not talk to one single person on the ship afterwards that liked it. All said they very much disliked Jamaica and would not want to go there again. All in all, I would not recommend this ship.

My husband and I love the smaller ship. We met more people and never felt crowded! I have some mobility issue so the smaller ship help me feel like I could see and do everything.

the staff were extremely accommodating; food was better in the windjammer than our late dinner sitting! We've travelled on Holland American in similar suites and received champagne on arrival, fresh fruit daily, canapes on request, etc! The ship was not quite up to standard!
