Review summary

Cruise and itinerary were great, ship was disappointing, crew were amazing.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Staff at Fort Lauderdale misdirected some of us as to where to wait which meant we were delayed even though actually there early.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The buffet was the biggest disappointment of the whole cruise. Of all ships I have been on, this was worst. The reinvention of the Horizon Court to The Fresh Marketplace on this ship appears to be a backward step, especially when compared to Fresh Marketplace on Majestic Princess. The food choice was far more limited and repititious than previously found, ratio of buffet stewards to passengers seemed less as service was slower and cleaning up of tables took longer, glassware for evening dining didn't exist, there was constant asking by staff on hand to complete surveys about dining experience (often even before having had the meal at that time), there was no monitoring of handwashing (except for 'one' short period on 'one' day at 'one' entry point when concerns had been raised) and on numerous times cutlery had to be chased up. (There are many other issues of disappointment re the buffet but I think the point is made.)

International Café

5 out of 5

Great. Good service and the exoected choices.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Trivia was very popular as were gameshows. Great chance to try different dance forns etc. One day I will certainly have to try the passenger choir as it always looks like fun but I akways find myself busy with other great activities.

Internet Cafe

3 out of 5

Great size cafe but lack of internet access was disappointing as connection wasn't there.

Entertainment

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
First rate. They made up for the negatives on the ship but I felt for them as their numbers appeared limited as far as crew to passenger ratio on that size of a ship. No crew member ever complained as they were too professional but having seen staff on many ships it was clear that in some departments on this ship the crew were working -extra' hard. That said, nothing was ever too much trouble for the crew who interacted with passengers.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout was as expected and kept surprisingly clean given crew numbers.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
As expected.

Ship tip

If you are expecting to find 'Movies on Demand' on this ship after its recent dry dock, then don't. (This was surprising, annoying and disappointing.

First time here. It was Ramadan so things opened up quite late. Port was great but my shore excursion didn't include what it advertised to include. (This was reported and restitution made.)
