With 3 children, having 2 staterooms was ideal! We had plenty of room and tons of storage. We left the doors open between our cabins most of the time. I can't imagine all of us sharing a single room, it would have been crazy!

Seriously consider the late dining for the Alaska Cruise. Too much to do during the day while in ports.

PIN TRADERS!!!!, make friends with the staff in the gift shops!! Let them know exactly which pins you are collecting. One time I was walking by, not even in the shop, and one of them called me....by my name...and showed me that they had found the pins I was looking for. A-MAZING!

Make sure the Oceaneer staff will cut the lock on the kids bracelet properly. My youngest got a long deep cut on her legs.

Take advantage of the online activity signup and download the Disney Cruise line navigator app!! You can keep up with your saved activities and keep up with family members that's assigned to your cabin.

We took 4 bottles of wine, but we were never in the room to drink it. We ended up paying the corkage fee on the last two nights just so we didn't take the wine home. I'd take beer next time.

If you've got kids that you want to have a magical experience, go Disney. For an adult cruise, there's not enough to justify the significant upcharge Disney has over other cruise lines.
