Review summary

Overall, the cruise exceeded our expectations and was worth the premium price compared to other cruises. We had so much fun, we booked another Disney cruise while on-board. And we plan to go annually until my daughter outgrows Disney cruises.

Embarkation

Smooth & friendly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dinners were exceptional. Modest portions, so you didn't overeat. But you could always order a second plate if wanted. The breakfast and lunch buffets were good and convenient, but not great. The alcohol on-board was modestly priced. $7-8 for a beer. $12 for a double Tito's Moscow Mule. Bottled water was a bit pricey, though.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was always something to do. In fact, there was always 2 or 3 things to do at every time slot. My wife was constantly reviewing the schedule of activities, shows and character meet & greets...trying to make sure we didn't miss anything...which isn't possible. Just have fun and roll with it, was my attitude.

Entertainment

I didn't go to many stage show, but rather chose to drink in the bar while my wife and daughter went to shows. They said they were great though. The Cadillac bar has a nice chill feel to it, with very reasonably priced whiskey.

Children's Programs

My daughter LOVED the kids clubs. We went to an all inclusive in Mexico last Spring Break and she couldn't stop talking about the Kids Club there. But the Disney kids club blew it away! So many activities, so many kids. And, they text you whenever your kid is ready to be picked up.

Service and Staff

Everything was perfectly Disney.

Ship Quality

Everything was perfectly Disney.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Deluxe inside stateroom (Cat 10) is sufficiently roomy. We didn't miss not having a window, or balcony. There was able room to unpack all of our items, and shove the suitcases under the bed. It's a bit tight when moving around and getting ready for the day, but overall...it was bigger than I thought it would be. My daughter really enjoyed the pull down bunk bed.

Ship tip

We took 4 bottles of wine, but we were never in the room to drink it. We ended up paying the corkage fee on the last two nights just so we didn't take the wine home. I'd take beer next time.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Very convenient port to sail in and out of. Very little traffic and convenient from Hobby airport...although we drove.

Cozumel, Mexico

We did the Fury snorkeling plus beach fun excursion. The Fury staff were a lot of fun, and the trip was a blast. My 6 year old LOVED the snorkeling, and really enjoyed the blow-up slides and stuff at the beach. "Best Vacation EVER!" she said.

George Town, Grand Cayman

We went to Stringray City in Cayman. The crew and excursion were top notch. My daughter loved snorkeling with the stingrays, but was terrified and clung tight to me the entire time. The rough seas and high tide didn't help, as we were bouncing up and down and out of control in the water quite a bit. After about 25 minutes, she chose to enjoy the view from the balcony of boat...but still really enjoyed herself.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was easy and smooth. Express Walk-Off is the way to go. Walk off with your luggage, customs looks at your passport briefly and you're on your way to your ground transportation.
