Review summary

this was a great repositioning cruise that allowed us to truly enjoy the ship. Our whole focus was to stay on the ship and she did not disappoint. There were numerous activities to keep us occupied and plenty of time to relax by the pool and in the spa.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
tiana's place is my new favorite menu with some amazing flavors. best desert on the ship as well. Cabanas had different lunch and dinner specials each day that were tasty. One day was Mexican and another day was Indian. both were delicious

Cove Cafe

5 out of 5

Leyston and Clarissa were true baristas in the morning crafting the best cups of coffee, lattes, and other fancy coffee drinks. It is also a full bar so you could even had spirits in you coffee if you so chose. it was a nice quiet place to relax with comfortable chairs and small couches. there is also a small book library as well as some magazines

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
we had the best service staff through out the cruise. Our room attendant was very helpful and even surprised us with rose petals on the bed on our anniversary. She also asked when we would be returning to the ship on our port day to make sure our room was ready by the time we got back (and we got back before noon). We had two bartenders learn exactly what we wanted as soon as we sat down and they were interesting to talk to. Our dinner staff was the bet we ever had. Each night our server would recommend certain foods and was honest if he thought a dish was sub-par. One night I ordered a dish he did not recommend and he really didn't want to serve it to me so he asked what my second choice was. He brought both dishes and he was right, the first dish was sub-par.

Ship Quality

the ship was immaculate. The layout was easy to manuver.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
cabin 6011 on the port side of the ship in the forward and sleeps three. it is a sideways layout meaning you enter the room from the center (as if it was a connecting room you entered where the connecting door would be instead of between the closet and bathroom on the end of the room). They layout felt larger and had more usable floor space. There was ample cabinetry for clothes shoes and luggage storage. there was even room for our pop-up hamper and it wasn't in the way. There was one useable outlet behind the television, two on the desk and one on each side of the bed. there were also multiple light switches near the bed so if you forgot to turn the lights out you could just toll over and hit the switch. this room has the standard bathroom configuration. the tub was large enough to sit in with legs extended but not lie down in for an adult. There is one shelf on the mirror to hold your toiletries. there is also a "robe" hook on the back of the door as well as just outside of door.

Ship tip

Look at all the art work it is beautiful

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

vancouver is a great town!very walkable and bike friendly. There are plenty of places to rent bicycles as well as umbrellas. Motor traffic generally respects pedestrians as long as they cross as the signal. there are also separate bike path lanes from pedestrians. There are also street level public restrooms not associated with businesses or shops.

Astoria, Oregon

I will be honest we really didn't want to do anything in astoria despite having a rich history. We did take a run on the riverwalk. it was 1.5 miles(2.5km) from the dock to the maritime museum. some of the riverwalk was paved, part of it was the trolley tracks and part of it was on working pier with large bolts sticking up so you needed to be aware of your footing. I do recommend good foot wear if you want to do the riverwalk.
