Misleading Room Representation by stefaniep2480

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We were happy with all aspects of the cruise except that we did not get the room we booked and felt as through we were mislead and over charged. We would not book another Disney cruise unless they could guarantee we would not get a bait and switch on our balcony.

Disney Magic cruise is Magic. by annalevina2004

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Transatlantic

If we have the refund for destroyed cell phone and missed day of the trip for 3 people - everything is wonderful. At 6 PM my daughter left her very expensive $1200 cell phone on her towel on the bench in adult area Desk 9. 6:30 PM she already came back looking for the phone but towels have been collected by desk steward. From 6:30 till midnight we (me and my daughter) begged everybody to look through the dirty towels and take the phone before it came to the laundry. We spoke to all kind of managers - everybody promised us to look by themselves and then verified that our phone is not there. We insisted. My daughter cried and cried and ask permission to look through the towels by herself. No. Everybody insisted that the phone has not been in towels. At 10:30 AM the next day our phone was in a laundry and then in drier machines. And only after that they brought it to us absolutely destroyed. $1200 phone has been broken. Whose fault is it? We asked, we begged, we cried, we told everybody that the phone is among the towels. Did somebody help us? No. The report has been filed. Now we definitely are waiting for compensation. No questions about it.

A wonderful way to experience ports we had never been to before. This being our second Disney cruise, we knew to expect great service, top of the line entertainment, and lots of fun activities on board. Very happy with our overall experience.

Great summer trip by steveandlea

Disney knows how to do it right. Kids had a blast -parents had a blast.  Time to be together and times when we could all be on our own.  Perfect family vacation

Disney Magic - Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallin by djmarchalonis36

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Europe

The Shore Excursions were very well done.  We had a large family group of 11 so we were able to have private tours.

Improvements could be made with the photography services.  We were not able to get any of our pictures on a CD.

Disney y la calidad de sus servicios y su seguridad no tienen comparación , todo fue experiencia mágico by martinezeliz200

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Transatlantic

Fantastic and Memorable. by grayt1172237935

Disney shows, wait staff in restaurants, and overall enthusiasm of staff.  Great experience for our grandchildren (11& 8).  The cabin with pullman bed is awesome for sleeping arrangements.

Great trip by Disneymagic1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Thought it was wonderful.  Staff was great, food was good.  Ship was clean.  Would do it again.  Enjoyed the whole trip very much.  Liked the fact that there was no need to dress fancy for dinner.  Liked the children's menu that contained things that they liked and would eat.

Disney Magic Brings the Magic by traceyep343424

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Wonderful Service, Wonderful Food!  The ship is beautiful and classy.  Even though the Magic is the smallest ship in the Disney fleet, it doesn't feel small.  It also has a big advantage when stopping in Castaway Cay, fewer passengers means less people on the island!  Key West was a great stop!

We traveled without kids and were seated at dinners with 3 other couples who were in the same situation.  That was a great surprise, we met great people and were able to enjoy kid-free meals!

This was our first cruise out of the Port of Miami and Customs took MUCH longer than Port Canaveral.  This has nothing to do with Disney, but a lack of staff by Border Patrol.  Only 3 people checking out 3000 passengers!

BIRTHDAY CRUISE by CRUISECOUPLE7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Attention to detail. Disney had a private SUV waiting for us at the airport taking us directly to our hotel. No other cruise line treats their clients with that kind of respest.

could have been better by lindastewart768

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The first night was horrible 80% of boat everyone was sick .  Me  and children were Iill all night woke up late for Bahamas still not 100%. I have cruised over 6 times and never have I been so sick. The cruise did not cater to toddlers I went for my daughter bday it was not a great experience.  I'm a Florida resident I go to the DISNEY WORLD 4xs a year this cruise is not disney friendly over priced just cause of characters.  I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Just go on a regular cruise or do disney world.

Dont ever use to book your cruise. by CindyWarthen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean

The cruise dining staff was excellent and the entertainment was the best ive seen on a cruise line.

However - this was the most painful and worse customer service experience EVER in booking thru .  I had reserved 2 rooms in Jan of 2016 for this holiday cruise.  I have booked many times before with and have always had my deposits pulled from the CC info they have on file.  Therefore I expected this to be the same or at least receive some notification from them that deposit had still not been paid prior to loosing the rooms.  NOTHING.  Simple lost the rooms and they  and ended up loosing them both but got one back because of misinformation on the deposit required and time it was due.   I'm the one that called to follow up and see that our rooms were released and the staff had no clue that they were - I found this out trying to pay for the 2 rooms.

Ended up not only loosing one room but having to pay MORE for an inside cabin with 4 people - 3 adults and 1 teenager.

After hours on the phone to make that happen - (literally - an entire day on the phone) our Christmas dream cruise was crammed into a single room with more $ than it originally cost for 2 rooms.  Now how is that customer service.  No apologies, no email notifications (of course except ones to book new cruises).  It was the worst experience ever!  And we are frequent cruisers.

BUYER BEWARE - NEVER BOOK THRU EVER AGAIN.AngryAngryAngry

It was ok by hess62178

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Luckily we did a seven day because the 1st 3 to 4 days were a little rocky (literally, I know it's not anybody's fault that you can't always avoid rough seas but it was bad and there was no storms and it wasn't hurricane season. More than one person/worker had said this was unusual, that they were going on 7 months of their cruising contract working on the cruise line and this is the worst yet being that there no storms/hurricanes around) we also hit a couple of rain clouds briefly so basically we didn't have good sea days. It was a bit overwhelming as well those 1st couple of days. It was crowded everything we tried to do, the welcome party, the lines for meet n greets, even the ones you had tickets for. We soon realized if you don't want to wait in a line for a hr or more get to the meet n greets a half hour before/make sure your 1st in line. Also for shows, make sure you're there way before show starts/doors open so you get good seats/to make sure you get seats together. If there are more than one of the same show or meet n greet wait for the second one or if there's a 3rd or 4th WAIT for the last one, the hype will be gone/most have already seen/done it so there wont be so many people! Don't miss dinner! Not because it's so good you'll be missing out (though it was good for being upscale meals, I personally am a bar food type of person, 5 star restaurants don't impress me plus I'm a very picky eater, I eat like a 5 year old!) but because we thought we would be able to get food elsewhere, the buffet, pizza place, there's so many other places to eat, but they close down during the main seating dinner and we didn't realize that till it was too late to eat at the main dining..luckily room service is the only food that's 24 hours so we ordered room services which was just ok. I really am an easy goin, easy to please person, I just think my expectations were very high because of how fabulous a Disney cruise is and I feel it wasn't any better than any other vacation I've been on. I wouldn't not go again if the opportunity arises but I'll have my own experience to realize what to do and what not to do.

Disney magic by DaleTsagarakis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

The cruise was wonderful. Much to do.  All the crew members we were very nice and attentive. My only  grievance was that the Wi-Fi should be giving freely to all sailing with the vessel.

Great for families, but don't expect the photo package to deliver its promises by jillmarie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The best part of my cruise was that I got to see a Broadway quality show after dinner each night- fabulous! The performances were all great. The movie theater was never crowded, either. The ship was beautifully decorated for Halloween, a favorite holiday of mine and my daughter's. I have decided cruising is how I want to vacation from now on- there was no shortage of activities. Service was pretty good- the dining room staff was great- except they kept hounding me to fill out comment cards and asking for feedback while I was relaxing and trying to enjoy my meal. One server talked right over a dessert I was planning on eating- I was afraid to eat it after she breathed all over it. It detracted from my meals. I did not bother to fill out the comment card after being asked to do it so many times, either.

The photography package was deceptive. I paid upfront online months before my cruise, expecting to get lots of shots with myself and my family. I found myself either waiting on long lines with an impatient 4 year old to take pictures with characters, or having to hunt down photographers after they left the dining room (the rare times they were there) to take pictures of me and my family. I actually forgot my phone at home, and had no way of taking any shots myself. Any time a staff member asked if I had my camera to take a picture of my child, I had to ask "where is the ship photographer?". I was always told they do not take those types of shots- I was disappointed. I was oversold and they under delivered. I must say that the pictures I did get came out beautifully. I may do something differently next time. I paid $359 and expected more candid shots- we got none. the ticketed events such as a character breakfast were a lot of fun- however no photographer's were there! They were at a Frozen gathering, however. I loved how the characters, especially the princesses, interacted with my daughter. Cinderella in particular was fun because she noticed my daughter had a dress with cats on it- she told my daughter that her cat, Lucifer, wasn't nice. It was funny!

Food was awesome, and varied. I loved that there were healthy options. No complaints about the excursions- Castaway Cay was a lot of fun- and I'm not a beach person either. They had a yoga session on the beach- it was incredible. Not many others took the fitness classes- I like to work out even on vacation- so it was nice not to be in an overcrowded gym. The instructors were great! I'd recommend to adults to go to Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay- if you have a spouse who wants to play on the beach with your children, go off to that area if you can. They have bike trails that are scenic and I had some nice walks on them. The food is also great in that area- little things like lemon for your water and specialty salads that are not available on the main part. I had fun exploring on my own!

Animator's Palate was my favorite restaurant by far- the lighting, the entertainment during meals- all great fun. My child was engaged. It helped that we had a great family as table mates- their daughters quickly befriended my child and they looked forward to seeing each other each day. We frequently stayed after all the other tables left, and even got together to have lunch. Great people and great conversation.

The kids club is good if your child wants to go. However, I was told only one parent could go in at a time. I wanted my child to show me her favorite parts of the club, tell me what she did, and missed out on that one day. I didn't put her in the club often, however I did have to assert myself once to get in to see my child along with my husband. The girl I dealt with most of the time was difficult to understand.

I was happy that the dining staff did not up sell all of the time. They understood when I said no and didn't push often. I was afraid of that, and it was not an issue. I'm on a limited budget but splurged on this vacation anyway, I wanted to give my child that Disney experience, and I have been dying to go on cruise. I'd love to do it again but due to finances may have to price other cruise lines for my next trip. I did feel it was a good value for my money. We had an inside stateroom cabin- the least expensive category- and it was fine. I didn't need views of the ocean in my cabin because I was on the ship so much. For a small family like mine, 3 people it worked though if any more people were in the cabin it would have been very cramped. The bed was comfortable, too.

Amazing Time by dangel23

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I went with my boyfriend and we met plenty of other couples our age (25-30). There are sections just for adults so you don't have to worry about being surrounded by children all the time. This was our first cruise and it exceeded our expectations! Food, entertainment, excursions, customer service, cleanness. I'll list a few tips below

 - Disney allows you to bring on board 2 bottles of wine per person. No beer cans or hard liquor.

- Pack coffee mugs to put your wine in if you want to take it out of the room

- rooms services is 24 hours and free

- make a reservation your first day to eat at Palos. It's $30 per person but it's all you can eat!

- Pay your gratuity in advance so you don't have to wait those long lines at the end of your cruise
