Review summary

If we have the refund for destroyed cell phone and missed day of the trip for 3 people - everything is wonderful. At 6 PM my daughter left her very expensive $1200 cell phone on her towel on the bench in adult area Desk 9. 6:30 PM she already came back looking for the phone but towels have been collected by desk steward. From 6:30 till midnight we (me and my daughter) begged everybody to look through the dirty towels and take the phone before it came to the laundry. We spoke to all kind of managers - everybody promised us to look by themselves and then verified that our phone is not there. We insisted. My daughter cried and cried and ask permission to look through the towels by herself. No. Everybody insisted that the phone has not been in towels. At 10:30 AM the next day our phone was in a laundry and then in drier machines. And only after that they brought it to us absolutely destroyed. $1200 phone has been broken. Whose fault is it? We asked, we begged, we cried, we told everybody that the phone is among the towels. Did somebody help us? No. The report has been filed. Now we definitely are waiting for compensation. No questions about it.

Unfortunately our trip has been 10 days instead of 11 days because we did not go to Canada as we expected. You will tell because of the weather. OK. But we live in New York! What the use to spend time on the ship when our home is around the corner? Of course we wanted to go home. But!!! No refund for 3 persons! No help with the luggage (I am 70 years old!)! Is it fair? How much did we pay extra for nothing!!! One day, one night, for 3 persons!!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Second sitting table 47 - excellent waiter. Always with a kind smile, helpful, with good mood, served us like we were his relatives. Thank you very much. However I saw public from another restaurants - beautiful, well dressed, middle age. Our restaurant - nursing home, wheel chairs and handicaps which has been very depressing, sometimes we did not want to come and prefer COBANA on 9th floor instead.

Wait.... The person that wrote this post is 70 years old... And her daughter lost her phone? So... The daughter is not a kid? So some middle aged woman was crying her eyes out over losing her phone? Makes it even more her daughter's fault.

How’s it her daughters fault, all our kids would have done that, they should replace your phone

Don’t blame Disney for your daughters irresponsibility. A very big lesson learned.

Dining with handicapped people is "depressing"? It feels like a nursing home? You're 70, you belong there too. Your daughter should take more care with her belongings.

Whose fault is it? Well, you asked the question- it's your daughter's fault.

That's too bad. Accidents and mistakes happen. Insurance claim shouldn't be much.

Would have to say it's your fault. Who buys their daughter a 1200 phone.

Travelwizard1    7 years ago

Sad lesson learned the hard way. Do not leave your valuables unattended.

"Whose fault is it?" Well... unfortunately, it is your daughter's fault. Sorry that happened to her.

Who spends 1200 on a phone and leaves it at a public pool?

Daughters fault not the cruise line

what a shame

Sorry, daughters fault. Her own neglect. Hard lesson learned. I would be surprised if the cruise line will give you any compensation. Hopefully she got the insurance for her expensive phone.
