Awesome Cruise by DianeM15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Nice size, easy to navigate. So many opportunities for character encounters. Lot's of activities. I would recommend more pool areas, a bit crowded. Castaway Cay was so awesome. We could live there. Certainly cannot get bored if you get involved.

Can't Wait To Go As An Adult! by RhondaH3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I appreciate long, detailed reviews, but this is the nutshell version - this was the absolutely best vacation I had with my children! They are all adults now, and we are very excited to return to Disney cruises again soon. I have taveled with two other cruise lines, and it was difficult to not compare them with the luxury of Disney. It is everything you would expect, and MORE! Be sure to budget for the many ship photos you will want to buy at the end of your trip!

This was the first cruise... by DE1126

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Magic

This was the first cruise I went on. Went with about 20 people. Everyone had a blast. Overpriced compared to other ships. Rooms were small. But overall a good time! I prefer Royal Caribbean though. :)

The Disney cruise experienceis top notch and absolutely cannot be beat. The meals at each unique restaurant were such a fun experience! I enjoyed my time at the arcade as well. Karaoke and shows were some fun entertainment on board. Staff goes above and beyond for you.

Our best trip ever (and we've had a lot! by BrendaS2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship is wonderful, and so much fun. The kids clubs are incredible; the kids want to stay there all of the time, giving Mom and Dad a real vacation. All of the events were family friendly fun, and the character appearances are pretty exciting, even if you aren't usually into that. Their pool areas are great, although definitely crowded. There was always something to do.

Disney- both sides of the cruise coin! by irvinhouse

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My guys loved being able to come and go as they pleased on this cruise! They were well cared for and loved the kids

activities!

The food...well we cruise and we were expecting big and grand...the dining rooms were the best part of the meal.

The food...was not up to what we had thought it might be, the service was lacking for Disney.. we have done both parks and all parks Disney has in the US so we understand Disney, this was a disappointment.

Wonderful cruise! We have cruised several times and Disney is the best overall. They have the best kid's clubs and activities, it is safe, the ports of call and shore excursions are wonderful and the service is second to none.

You cannot beat a Disney Cruise by CharlesW8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I surprised my wife with a Cruise on the Disney Magic - Fe. 13-20, 2010. We arrived a Port Can. to doscover that the Magic was still in Castaway Cay due to weather and would not sail until the 14th. A very nice cruise line employee directed us to Epcot where we received: free parking, a one day park hopper pass, a $30.00 food voucher, one night at the Caribe Royale, a 20% discount on our cruise and a $240.00 on board credit. But more importantly, every employeee we encountered was nice an handled our situation with grace and kindness. Th ship is beautiful, the dining rooms and food are awesome. Palo's is highly recommended. We saw three first run movies at the BuenaVista Theater and each show at the Walt Disney Theater. The cast memebers there are very talented. My wife and I are in our early sixties and were traveling alone. We enjoyed being around so many happy children. We sked a little girl on a elevator whre she was from. She replied, "Syracuse and tht is why this trip is a dream come true. We agree. Th debarkation process was so easy - less than 10 munutes. We were so pleased and impressed that we booked agian for the winter of 2011.

There was nothing for my 22 mn old to do by BetsyB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean

For being advertised that it is a family cruise theyshould have let us know that the baby was not allowed to do anything because of his age. I tried daycare once and came back after 45 mins they had him strapped in a stroller in front of a Tv crying and the teacher was out at the front desk needless to say we never went back. We spent alot of money for nothing to do. Nothing on board for a child under 3. you should let people know

Disney Cruise Line - Is it all that ? by RaleighB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I've been on many cruises over the years. Eastern and Western Med cruises, Island cruises in the Carribean and South America. I've cruised on Carnival, Royal Carribean, Crystal Cruise Line and now Disney, so I'd like to think I have a bit of exposure to what the industry has to offer. In my experiences, I've come to realize that the real test of a Cruise Line is how the respond and adapt to unusual circumstances. Weather should be one of those things you would expect a cruise ship to have figured out. Disney seemed like they were learning as they went along. When we got to Orlando it was unseasonably cold. 31 degrees and sleeting and snow flurries. The first 2 destinations were very cold and windy as well. Disney could have figured it out a bit better. The shore excursions were amateur at best. You show up on time for the gathering time, and no staff would be there. They would show up late, herd everyone off the boat into the cold and screaming wind then make you stand there for 20 minutes before they figured out what to do. Guides would escort you to a museum then abandon you and tell you to ask the lady in the museum gift shop for walking directions to the next museum stop... Carnival's drunken highschool excursions are much more coordinated. Over priced for what you get. The ship is very well appointed. The common areas are very nice with just a hint of Disney. The various dining options are great too. Animator's Pallet is a real experience, which the kids and adults will love. The balcony cabin we had was very spacious for what I've seen, even compared to the Balcony rooms on the Crystal Symphony. The ship has recently been renovated however it is still showing it's age. Our cabin had a split bathroom. Tub and sink in one room, toilet and sink in the other. The toilet stunk from day one, something reminiscent of a Shell station. All throughout the cabin we found little things that past visitors had tried to fix themselves. Matchbooks shoved behind a picture to keep it from rattling, a wad of paper in the glass on the balcony to keep it from rattling, wedges under the crown moldings to keep them quiet, etc.. There was also some VERY loud hydraulic equipment in the walls that went off for 30 seconds or more ever 3 minutes and around 2am would go off constantly with only 20-40 seconds between. It kept me awake almost every night. If you are a light sleeper it would be a deal breaker.
