Disney Magic by MyraDray

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean

I was not impressed with this ship at all !

we have just returned . My understanding this ship took a major updo well yes there are some nice things about it but there are a lot that are not ..   The pool area is TERRIBLE it is so small the kids can't even swim in it what a waste the food on this ship is not that good as on the others Disney ships and why are the shows the same on the Disney cruise ? That's crazy each ship should have there on different shows I just felt like I was not on a Disney cruise on this ship even from the minute I step aboard I will NOT ever return to this ship nor will I EVER recommend it !!!!!!

Now my son did like the new waterside and the kids club I will say becoming Iron Man was cool for the kids .....

Just because this ship was not that good I will be going on the Disney Fantasy

I've done the Dream twice and it is WONDERFUL !!!!

Fun but a little over priced by canmalone

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall I would have enjoyed a few more "free" events to participate in. Most of the activities required a nominal fee. The cruise is expensive as it is and to go on board and spend an additional $300 - $500 was pretty inconsiderate of the corporation. I think the meet and greet for the kids should be a scheduled activity to encourage participation right away. Other than that the cruise was a delight.

Great Family Time by sms0429

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We recently sailed on the Disney Magic with a mixture of children (ages 7 and 10), parents and grandparents. Overall the experience was a good for a family vacation. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Overall, it was a good first time Disney Cruise experience. There was a good balance of activities for kids and adults and the times were well spaced.

Book with caution! by kchisom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Approximately 13 months ago before we cruised I booked a 4 night Disney cruise for my family as a surprise Christmas gift. I secured 3 cabins(one inside and 2 outside) and paid almost $9000. 60 days before we sailed, I noted that the balcony cabins price had dropped to $980 per person which is cheaper than the inside cabin I booked 13 months ago. I have discussed at length with 2 supervisors in guest relations this situation and was told that this is a restricted offer and only for new customers. Stacy and RK both state they only enforce the policy outlined by Disney Cruises and they have no ability to negotiate, compromise or work with me on this problem. Stacy actually stated it was time I move forward with this decision as this is a final decision. I requested numerous times my concerns be elevated to their managers and was told over and over they have no managers; as this decision is final and I have no other recourse, but to move forward. I struggled with this decision as my earlier trips on Disney properties were filled with wonderful memories and outstanding customer service. I understood that customer service was their your mission statement. RK and Stacy both were very professional and their messages were concise. They could not do anything to help me; their role was to communicate this per Disney's policy. My option was to move forward as this decision was final. I remained hopeful that a solution could be worked out to support my 13 month commitment to Disney and that we could be moved to the balcony cabin, After all this is what is being offered to new passengers 60 days before the Dream sails. This NEVER OCCURRED! Hope this information helps your familiy.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The ship, stateroom, food, staff, service, entertainment, port adventures, amenity, spa...everything was at the DISNEY high standard. You will enjoy this cruise for your family with small or big children or without or just for young and old couples. We enjoyed every part of this cruise and simply, it was AMAZING, AMAZING experience.

Ship is in great shape with some minor wear in some rooms. However, this is the last cruise before it goes in for rehab.

Very hectic, almost too much. It took a few days to sort out what to do. The Disney World portion was not a good experience as the park was sholder to sholder. Overall the ship was greqat.

Happy and Sad sailing by oliviette1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The ship and all staff exceptional. We were very disappointed that we did not land on Castaway Cay. They tried to land only two times. I feel I paid for something I did not receive. I chose this cruise because of the Disney private Island Experience. Can I get reimbursed for that? Sincerely Nuccia Pignataro 409-789-3713

Disney knows how to create... by born2skico

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Magic

Disney knows how to create great experiences! I took my son on an 8 night Disney Cruise (Magic) in 2013. He was 9 at the time. Disney arranged a dining table for 8. We were sat with 3 other moms and their child, all kids between 7-9. We made great friendships and the kids had a blast knowing other kids on the ship. The Magic is a little smaller ship, however, don’t let this fool you. They had a ton of activities on board and there was always something we were interested in. Cruising with Disney is a great way to meet the characters, get signatures and interact. In our experience it has been hard to do this at the parks. I have cruises on Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Disney. Disney comes out on top for family friendly, ship activities (kids & adults), cleanliness (with Royal Caribbean in line on this area), food and staff friendliness. I found that watching alerts from Disney Cruise.com can provide good discounts like kids sail free. Can’t wait to do another Disney Cruise!

Great ship and great cruise. Entertainment was excellent. Great mix of kids, family and adult only entertainment going on all the time. We found their was always something to do for everyone as a group or on our own. The provided wireless phones to use on the ship made things very easy.
