Princess Cruise by Cruiser49845306

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Loved being in Skagway. So much history and after seeing the terrain can not imagine what it was like for the gold miners. We had clear

skies for Glacier Bay. It was beautiful.

North to Alaska by lvickinovac

Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Ports of call were fabulous, not enough time in Canada or Ketchikan! Entertainment and food was great. The weather was awesome and the excursions were great.

An enjoyable cruise by 1happycruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Beautiful ship and great staffs. We had great dinning experiences. Our waitress, Patrycja and her assistant, Bojo, were exceptional. The entertainment was pretty good, especially the comedian Carlos Oscar was hilarious and that was our most favorite show. The Voice of the Ocean and the trio with beautiful classics were also great. The food was good and we really liked the International Cafe. Overall we enjoyed our cruise and will recommend it to others.

The trip was way over our expectations! by ssilva

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Room was very nice and clean! Food is delicious! Service is excellent! Our room steward, Rizalino Lopez, did a very good job taking care of us. Scheduling was good except for the Victoria part of the trip - we got there at 7 p.m. and when we got to the Butchart Gardens, it was already dark. So we did not really enjoy the excursion; we felt cheated for the money we paid for this. Hopefully, for other cruises, this should be avoided. We would have really enjoyed the beauty of the place if we got there before nightfall.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

fav part - comedy show by steve white and the voice

needs lot of improvement in horizon court buffet, other than indian cuisine, rest were mediocre. we just ate pizza and fruits!  fast food wouldve been a step up

lack of good entertainment and games, especially on at sea days- almost none.

movie under the stars only works for caribbean destinations, not for alaska when its 50 degress outside!

cabin and accomodations - very good

crew and cleanliness - very good

Disappointed! by kjgunter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ship was very old. The entertainment was average at best. They acted like they were still in rehersal. There was a Motown review and not one African-American entertainer. The on board shops very not very good. The only really great think about the cruise ship was the food in the Botticelli diningroom. It was the best!. The service there was also excellent.

Alaska cruise by sherrysdolphin

Wonderful cruise to Alaska. Really enjoyed port stops and excursions. Would have liked more kids activities for 12 year olds.  Food was fantastic and staff were very accommodating even with food allergies.

7-Day Alaskan Inside Passage Cruise by themoreheads

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Cruise was wonderful! Getting to the port and boarding were easy and friendly.  Once on the ship, accommodations were as expected. So here it is in a nutshell: Staterooms and service- Excellent. Staff-to-passenger ratio- Good. Entertainment- Excellent (We did not enjoy the "Magic Performance Show" though). Ports of call- Excellent. Food/ Breakfast Buffet- Fair (little variety); Lunch- Good; Dinner- Good (Had better meals on Carnival and Royal Caribbean and for whatever reason, dinner staff was "Moody"). Overall, a good experience.

Everything I thought it would be by bucko1960maccom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Since this was our first cruise it would be hard to say what we expected, except that we had high hopes for a vacation that would have a real impact on us. We were not disappointed! The Crown Princess staff and crew were very attentive and helpful, the ship was in great condition, and the stops were well placed.

I would say that it was difficult choosing excursions simply because we didn't really know what we were doing, However, definitely take the White Pass and Yukon Territory Railroad excursion out of Skagway!

Mixed Bag, some thing good, some thing bad by thehills672

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The natural beauty of Alaska was the best part of the cruise.  Regarding the ship it needs a complete makeover. It is eleven years old and shows it.  The restaurants were great and the service was excellent.  The buffets were average and the service was poor.  Our waiters were outstanding and I recommended them for employees of the month.  Ninety percent of the staff were friendly and helpful the other ten percent were not.  I don't mean to be so negative but I expedited better based on previous cruises.  Improvements reschedule the first three stops to allow more time in Victoria.  Over all it was a great experience.  I would recommend this cruise as a good family vacation.

Excellent cruise experience by karakaleel07

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The cruise people are very friendly and helpful. The boat was clean and the food was delicious. It would have been nice to get a better map at the beginning of the trip as we didn't find parts of the ship that we would have loved to go to until the end of our cruise. Fantastic experience as our first cruise.

Charlie and I had a great time.  My third cruise, his first.  He was hesitant about the ship motion, but the ship is very stable and the crew did a great lob going around a storm.

for a firsttimers it was fantastic! by laurajenkins

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

the service and the personnel on the ship were fantastic! the food was exceptional and the spa was delightful. I would recommend the cruise ships install wheelchair/ scooter accessible elevators because a lot of other passengers were quite rude and pushy with the people that were in these devices. to the point where they would just push right by them and leave them waiting for the next one coming.

The beauty of the sights were the plus that was worth it.  the food in juneau was amazing!  (thanks twisted fish!)  the servers were unhappy and unwilling to help in the main dining and buffet. the breakfasts got us sick!  yuck!  the specialty restaurants were amazing and loved the service there.

Wonderful People, Ship....Not So Great by Jojo8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We have gone on many different cruise lines and had always heard that Princess would rank near the top of our list after using them.  Wrong!  While the staff, everyone from the bartenders to the room stewards were wonderful, the ship seemed run down.  The Adagio Bar and Sabatini's Restaurant were both beautiful rooms, but shook like crazy!  We would have spent more time in Adagio, but the rattle was more than we could stand!  Our room was fine, nothing special.  Our friends had no hot water in their room for one entire day!  Boarding and disembarking were both relatively easy.  Food was average.  The one highlight was the Crown Grill Restaurant.  We ate there twice and the food was very good!!!

All in all, I can't understand why Princesses prices are higher than say Norwegian or Celebrity.  I would probably only use them again if they were the only line serving my preferred destination.

Experience of a Lifetime by JLachat

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We were very satisfied with what we saw.  A little disappointed we did not see more wildlife such as Bears and Moose neither from the ship or on our railroad or duck excursions.  We would recommend the cruise on Princess to all of our friends.

Crown Princess Review by plppierce1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The excursions offered were great and Alaska was beautiful, but it would have been also great to be aware before signing up for excursions that the 4th of July excursions would be somewhat reduced due to the port's holiday activities.

The staff that changes the linens and cleans the cabins start to set up in the hallways before breakfast is even available for the passengers. They need to wait until passengers have a chance to get out on deck as the halls are narrow and hard to pass through with linen carts, cleaning carts and vacuum cleaners.

The buffet dining areas are too narrow and small for the number passengers on board as there is never a place to sit. The buffet food sits out for almost an hour before the buffet opens. The breads are hard as rock, too many starchy foods and not enough true vegetables. The staff on one side of the ship for the buffet never ask the passengers if they need anything while the other side of the ship for the buffet are very helpful.

The medical staff act like it is an inconvenience to remedy sea sickness. They only want to tell you over and over that there will be a charge for their services which most people who are sea sick would gladly pay.

The lounges were beautiful and the auditorium shows were great.

My porter Franciso was never around when I needed him and did not always answer my page.

You were encouraged to download the  princess app to check your bill, my phone service indicated that I would incur international rates by the MB so I was not interested in incurring usage fees for this. Other cruise ships have a TV channel where you can login and check you billing tab via the TV. The final daily itinerary indicated that I would receive my final bill at my cabin before debarking but it never came.

I probably  will never use the Princess Cruise line again.

Relaxing by dwonz2424

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The inside passage is awesome. The cruise was great but the ship needs better access to drinks if you don't buy the drink card. Bad was very hard so if you need a softer bed upgrade to better room. Staff was great and very helpful.
