Review summary

This was a bucket list trip. Everyone we spoke to prior to the trip mentioned that an Alaska cruise was one of their best trips ever. Unfortunately, that was not the case for us due to Princess Cruise lines sending us out on a ship that was working on back up generators. The ports of calls were cut short. My intent to go on a cruise was not to spend the majority of time on the cruise but rather to explore the ports of calls in Alaska based on the chosen excursions. Disappointed is putting it mildely

This port got cut short. They re-arranged our excursions. The cruise line didn't give us an option on which excursions to eliminate.

I am so very sorry that you didn't get to enjoy all that your Alaska Cruise was supposed to be. I hope you will give Princess & Alaska another try sometime soon.

Thanks for your review and sorry you had issues. We are going to Alaska on the Crown in June. I called Princess about the several negative reviews about the engine issue and they assured me it was fixed sometime last year. Fingers crossed!

I loved the Crown when we were on it but that was 2019.

I enjoy cruising for the cruising experience, the ports are a plus

Sorry you didn't get to see more of Alaska. The Crown has been having engine problems now for a long time.

Appreciate your details. I think that last year many ships were rushed into service before they were ready. Sorry you were so disappointed and hope you have another opportunity for an Alaskan trip.

Princess should have repaired the engine issues prior to sailing the Alaska season, since they knew of the problem, but they chose not to since they would have had to cancel several cruises. I suspect they will lose more money in the long run, since many had a poor experience and will not use Princess in the future.

It's typical for a ship owned by Carnival. Sorry for your disappointment.
