Review summary

We were so busy from start to finish. We met some great Aussies, Americans and Canadians on the trip that we caught up with each morning and night, we still keep in contact with them on social media and some we are planning another cruise with in the future. We made some great friends with bar staff, waiters and room stewards, again some we are still in contact with. The whole atmosphere was fantastic, loved the Crown Princess 100%πŸ‘β€οΈπŸΉπŸ˜€

Was a very quick process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Outstanding food, the fine dining was exceptional. Some of our exceptional bar and waiting staff. Some have moved on to other ships now and Jorge the senior waiter has retired from cruising and returned home to his family in Mexico.

Dining Room

5 out of 5

Michaelangelo's was amazing, we had the most fun wait staff, Jorge from Mexico and his junior waiter Allen from the Philippines. They were so attentive, remembered our likes and dislikes every night. We looked forward to dinner every night because of them.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Didn't get to do many activities as so busy with port days but when on board most time was spent at the bar with friends we had made on the cruise. Skywalker's night club was good.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Went to two shows and they were both great.

We found it to be very clean and tidy. Plenty of room and tons of wardrobe space. Loved our balcony❀️

Ship tip

The newly refurbished ship is great. The only advice I have is just chill and go with the flow. If for some reason plans have to change with regard to excursion's or anything else, don't stress over it and get mad. Sometimes the Captain has to make decisions based on safety, for example not being able to dock due to strong winds so tenders need to be used, I was glad the Captain had my welfare in the front of his mind, but people got grumpy.......don't!!! Take a chill pill, the cruise costs too much to be grumpy.πŸ˜€

Ports of call

Messina, Sicily

We did a hop on hop off trip leaving from a little square in the town. When we arrived back it was just coming up to midday and the square was now thriving with people. At midday everyday the Cathedral of Messina becomes active. It has figures all over it that come to life and at the end the whole square is treated to Ava Maria. Just beautiful πŸ™‚.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

We did a hop on hop of bus, got off at the first stop to visit Trevi Fountain, which was heaving with people but we did manage to throw our coins in the fountain and make a wish. We visited most other major sites on foot from then on. We saw the Parthenon, The Forum, The Wedding Cake, The Colosseum and of course The Vatican. Amazing place, would love to go back and do at a much more leisurely pace though.πŸ™‚

Santorini, Greece

Somewhere I had always wanted to go. Loved Oia and the blue domes. Went to a winery first up for some wine tasting, was fantastic and the view from atop the cliff over the Mediterranean down to the ship was spectacular. Great tour guide and bus driver George.πŸ™‚

Cannot speak highly enough of Dubrovnik, just wish we could have stayed a few days. We walked the wall, which was spectacular, the day was courageous and we got some outstanding photos of the old town. Had a super seafood lunch followed by a super duper ice creamπŸ‘Œβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

We took an excursion to a little seaside town called Bandol. Wandered the sites. Surprisingly we found an All Blacks shop, so of course as you do being a Kiwi we went inside. We had a kiwi mascot dressed as an All Black with us, so the lady shop owner wanted her photo taken with TK.πŸ˜€πŸ‘

Couldn't fault it, beautiful town, only managed the old town on or first visit, which was so full of history. Loved it. Such a scenic cruise through the sounds to get there.
