If there are 3 or more people in your party, during peak times find a table first, and take turns getting your food. We have seen masses of people circulating around with plates in their hands. Especially during peak lunch hours it takes some time to find seating.
We used room service for breakfast most mornings. Dinner first night seems to set your table and service staff. They tried to get you the same location (or near) from then on. We had dinner fairly early first night and got a good location
Don't book a room near a crew stairwell. Make reservations for dinner even with select dining. Get the classic beverage package. Book excursions on your own or with Cruises Only
On docking mornings, the breakfast buffet was crowded. I would leave a bit more time and eat in the dining room. They served quickly there.
Also, if you are not a big drinker, don't get the liquor package. They have reasonably priced wine if you want to just have a glass of wine with dinner @ $8
We preferred the buffet room to the main dining room. The selection of food is vast. If you opt for the drink package, get a list of everything that it includes. If you only drink top shelf stuff, you may be tempted to get the premium package, but if you don't drink a lot, it may not be worth it.
Become familiar with the ship on your first day so it is easier to find what you're looking for! I'd also recommend going to the intro to cruising on the first day (we didn't) as I'm sure it would have made things a bit easier for us to get used to what was going on :-D
I would recommend the unlimited beverage package, which is well worth it, even if you drink only soft drinks. I would also recommend purchasing the wi-fi for the entire trip, but keep in mind it is a one-device-at-a-time deal.
Always spring for the Premium Beverage Package. I wanted an Alaskan beer; $6.50. I started with Classic Beverage Package. I t would have cost me $6.50 per beer, even though I had a Classic Package. Classic Package only covered Bud Light and maybe Heineken; up to $5.50. $6.50 full charge is to you.
