Review summary

We loved our cruise on the Solstice. We sailed with Celebrity once before, but this set the bar at a level we did not expect. The service from everyone, from our cabin steward to our wait staff, was continually impressive and made us feel at home. It amazed us how hard the crew worked, not only with their every day tasks but also in service to everyone on board. As for Alaska, it was astoundingly beautiful; we took several shore excursions that were exceptional. Overall, there were no detractors to speak of for this cruise, we will not only be back, but we will aim to book with Celebrity from now on!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
My wife has a couple of food allergies and the staff went above and beyond the help her. The chef came out and spoke to us one night, and on more than one occasion made her a special dish that wasn't on the menu. Fantastic service, and the food was great too!

Cabin / Stateroom

A great spot! The Oceanview café is directly above, so you can hear deck chairs, but it never kept us from sleeping. The high deck and large balcony was great for viewing the inside passage and other beautiful spots.

This was our favorite stop. Make sure to ride the Tram, it's worth the price.

Skagway, Alaska

We rode the White Pass Train and visited Gold Rush sled dogs as one excursion. The train was a beautiful ride. At Gold Rush sled dogs you are hosted by a man who raises the dogs, and has run the Iditarod several times. He shared about how they run the race, with an emphasis on the dogs. You get to meet his team and watch them run. You also get to hold puppies. You can do a full walking tour of Skagway in a little over an hour. There's a city museum that's well done and worth your time.

It's a short stop, but it's a 20 minute walk or an easy shuttle ride into the city. Check out the Empress Hotel, and look up tour options to make the most of your time!
