Review summary

My Father had a heart attack on a cruise and NO ONE missed a stop on the cruise. In the case of our cruise a women fell and instead of waiting until the next day as they did with my Dad, the entire ship missed the highlight of the cruise. NO COMPENSATION was offered and in order for Celebrity to get all the money they can, we got to Juneau early so we could spend our money on the tours and the ship owned/affiliated jewelry stores.  The lobster the last night was inedible, the old Celebrity Cruises spent the money on food and entertainment, apparently now it's on glitz and glamour, but the guests are cheated.  And 2 plugs per room, really?  They were my favorite cruise line, no more......the ship should compensate EVERYONE for their poor choice.  Their decision was monetary.

Not a criticism but a question. How could your travel agent change your cabin without your permission?

Most cruise ships I have been on have only had one power outlet. Choose your own cabin if you don't want one forward, somebody has to be in these cabins. How do you know the lady with the broken hip is fine?

We cruised August 21. If the woman broke her hip, she needed to get to an ER. This can end up a fatality. I would want to have the care she received We were disappointed at missing Tracy Arm Fjord, and it would be nice if we received extra Captain's Club points, but to monetary compensation is necessary. The food was tremendous. Lobster tail deemed delicious by everyone near us. You are the second complainant I've heard. Please, go on a different cruise line so we optimists can continue enjoying ours.

If your talking about a "Review", there is an area under the title of the review that looks something like this... "

Sail Date: August 28, 2015

Reviewed: 7 hours ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

Cabin: 2073

So it does indicate a Sail date as well as a reviewed (posted) date.

Now THAT is an excellent question :)  I think it's something Simon and the tech team might be able to address. I think it would be helpful to have that info attached to each post rather than simply the time since it was posted or time of last post on a discussion.

Cruiseclues - I think I know what you mean. You have to click on the link to the original review to find the information I think you are looking for. It is above CruisinTim's comment.  (https://cruiseline.com/ship/celebrity-solstice/review/407900).

Reviews without post dates (just as forum) with how long ago in hours, or days, or just months...what's the next level?  years?

AngryCruiser42    9 years ago

Also, all, other travel agents I spoke to send we should have at least received money toward a next cruise. Are you part of The Celebrity staff?

And you know that how? Obviously the Captain can and does what he wants, but how can you make a judgment without any facts. The women broke her hip. My Father was air ambulanced to Miami when he had a heart attack, with my Mother, then my Mother paid the additional air ambulance back to our home town. He was in intensive care for a month. He never really recovered. This lady is fine.

It is up to the discretion of the Captain and the recommendation of the ships doctor to make a call for an evacuation at sea, to head to the nearest port without delay or to continue to the next port of call. Not sure how severe the health of your Father was on board after his heart attack. Was he stabilized and coherent? If the ships doctor felt his condition wasn't dire, he would recommend to the Captain to continue on. Now, the woman that fell, did she break a toe or did she crack her head open? If her fall caused her to be incoherent or her health to be dire due to her fall or for what have may caused her to fall (existing condition), then the doctor would make the recommendation for the Captain to have the ship either request an at sea evac or alter course to the nearest port for the health of the passenger. Without elaborating on the condition of your Father or the woman that fell, you leave an opinion open to interpretation. You did or will receive a refund for the port fees & taxes of the missed port(s) so check your folio. They will most likely NOT compensate anyone for the change due to an ill passenger (read your contract). And 2 outlets per cabin is the norm and with 4 - 6 cruises, you should know that! Your cabin was too far forward? Unless you booked guarantee, you should have know that when booking. If you did book guarantee, that's the chance you take. Their decision to change the itinerary was NOT monetary, it was for the health of a fellow passenger.
