If you haven't been on a cruise since the pandemic, don't try and compare it to what you remember before the pandemic. There may be changes in the quality and quantity of the food, the number of ships personnel and shows. However, it's still the best vacation you can have for the money, although prices are much higher than before as well.

plan way ahead for excursions. they were all booked a month or more before hand for what we wanted to do.

We have an excellent cruise agent at American Airlines Cruises named Connor Cross (1-800-259-5642 extension 38426). Check with him when you get ready to take a cruise. Once you book your cruise check the price of your cruise up until the 90 day deadline to pay. If you see it decrease then call Connor or your agent and they will reduce your price. Also, if you are sailing single and on a budget, our son stayed in an interior room to save money and the room on the 10th floor was just as big as our Aquaclass room. It just didn't have the balcony. He paid about $1300 for the single room + $157 for gratuities...not bad for a 9 day cruise on the Equinox. You have to book these interior rooms early as they go quickly on the 11th and 10th floor. We booked around Black Friday/Cyber Monday to get additional perks like 3X American Advantage miles and additional On Board Credit(OBC). Our son had $200 OBC which he used for wifi and an excursion. We had $650 OBC for our Aquaclass room which paid for all our excursions and a couple of massages. Book your excursions early through Celebrity...about 2 weeks before we sailed they discounted the excursions so we called and had them rebook at the lower price. This sale is only for a few days so keep a lookout for it.

After getting settled, take the time to explore the whole ship because there are many things to enjoy that are hidden, such as bocce and glass blowing.

Make sure you want to relax and not party.

Try the specialty restaurants! Ask for a window table in Tuscan Grill!

You are allowed to bring soda on board and I would if you want something to drink.

Elevators can be crowded and slow at certain times during the day. If visiting the buffet, you may need off hours to be able to get a table easily.

Enjoy the entertainment.

Look at the weather app. If there is a storm, highly recommend bring seasickness meds

Do yourself a favor, and go to the back of the ship, out the back doors of the Buffet dining hall. Great place to sit, a bar is there that is often forgotten about. Take the stairs up from there to the next level, and theres another bar. Great place to spend the evening and relax.

Don't sail during the heat of summer. All the ports were super hot, and the ship was fully booked. Also, if your wife doesn't drink alot, don't buy the premium drink package.

Stick to the dining room and Oceanview restaurant. Forget Murano!

Pace yourselves, don't try to do everything. There were issues with the Basic WIFI and the Phone App that we had to work around.
