Review summary

Celebrity continues as our favorite cruise line. Although the Equinox is an older ship and does show some signs of wear, the ship is well maintained and the crew and staff are outstanding. Would definitely recommend it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Staff still outstanding. Quality and quantity of food not quite the same as pre-pandemic in the main dining room. Specialty restaurants still terrific.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools very crowded on sea days. Chairs so close together you can hardly get in or out of them. Ship activities OK but run of the mill.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows were predictable and average. Performers were very good but the sound system seemed to garble the words of the singers. One independent group was excellent, the other 3 were OK. Soloists in the bars were OK.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service from our waiters and room steward was outstanding. Other ship personnel were friendly and helpful as well.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Layout of the ship was comfortable and easy to navigate. The ship is starting to show some wear, like furniture with worn areas or small rips in fabric. However, all areas were clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was comfortable for its size. We wish Celebrity would offer a mini suite category. The room steward was outstanding and kept the cabin spotless, even the bathroom.

Ship tip

If you haven't been on a cruise since the pandemic, don't try and compare it to what you remember before the pandemic. There may be changes in the quality and quantity of the food, the number of ships personnel and shows. However, it's still the best vacation you can have for the money, although prices are much higher than before as well.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
Port Everglades is a 3 hour drive for us and is very convenient. There seems to be ample parking and the terminals are easily accessible.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
We did not do an excursion on this trip . We have been to all of the islands several times over the years and have seen most of the sights. We did enjoy disembarking and walking around the town.

Oranjestad, Aruba
