Celebrity Constellation overview

Celebrity Constellation is a Millenium-class ship that strikes an ethereal balance between luxury and value, big-ship amenities and small-ship service. Since it's launch in 2002, this combination has earned Constellation many loyal fans. It's easy to see why both couples and retirees return to this ship again and again.

Celebrity Constellation’s last refurbishment came in May 2017, but is returning to drydock in 2020 for Celebrity Revolution updates. If you're sailing after May 2020, you can look forward to modernized staterooms, improved technology, refreshed public spaces, and reimagined restaurants. Shipwide improvements coupled with exciting itineraries make for a special cruise and fantastic memories.

Passengers on Constellation enjoy out-of-this-world dining, luxury accommodations, and entertainment from first-class performers. Start the day like a celebrity with room service coffee on your balcony. For lunch and dinner,Constellation has a mix of casual and formal eateries. These range from the poolside Mast Grill to Qsine, which specializes in Nouvelle fare with dramatic presentations.

If you like Vegas-style shows, visit the Celebrity Theater for a night of pop music and show tunes performed by Constellation's outstanding house band. The Rendezvous Lounge is an intimate venue for stand-up, live music, and dancing. You might visit the Rooftop Terrace to enjoy an outdoor movie and film-themed snacks from the comfort of a plush lounger.

While Celebrity Cruises is an adult-oriented line in general, there's always something happening at the Fun Factory play center or XClub teen hangout and arcade. If you're traveling solo or as a couple, take time to visit Canyon Ranch, the ship's 25,000-square-foot spa, salon, and thermal suite. These amenities are fantastic for a midsize ship, but Constellation is getting even better.

Celebrity Constellation itineraries and departure ports

Constellation has a busy schedule with routes that canvas the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Asia. In the warm season, Celebrity Constellation cruises to Greece, Croatia, Italy, Spain, and France. In the cool season, the ship travels through the Suez Canal on the way to Dubai, India, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Constellation's itineraries are usually mid to long, with cruises in the 9-night range and longer.

Before you book

This ship is best for: If you're a mature traveler seeking destination-focused itineraries and luxury amenities at a good value, this Celebrity ship will be a good fit.

You should know: Across the Celebrity fleet, family-friendly activities are relatively sparse. Constellation has a quiet, laid-back ambiance that's geared toward couples, older adults, and sophisticated travelers.

What is there to do on Celebrity Constellation?

This Millennium-class ship is built for leisure pursuits, whether you're looking forward to lounging by the pool, enjoying the views, or sinking into a club chair at the Rendezvous Lounge for a night of comedy and cocktails. Between ports, peruse the duty-free shops, play for the jackpot at Fortunes Casino, or book a treatment at the Canyon Ranch Spa. This expansive wellness space features a thalassotherapy pool, full-service salon, and thermal suite. Although Constellation is a couples-oriented ship, Celebrity's Fun Factory offers educational activities for travelers aged 3 and older. Plus, teens can chill in the XClub, volley on the ping-pong tables, or challenge their new friends to an arcade game. Because Constellation's itineraries are so port-centric, many more adventures await onshore.

Great itinerary, with the exception of Brindisi. Celebrity should take this port off their itinerary! Constellation was decent, food fair to good. Prime veranda was small compared to the EDGE class ships. As always, the service was good. by kindykj

We booked this cruise for the itinerary. The weather was perfect. The ports, with the exception of Brindisi, were beautiful. We enjoyed the cruise, but prefer the EDGE class ships over the older ships. Celebrity service is always very good.

overall, it was a wonderful cruise. We flew Turkish Airlines. The airplane pillows were not sanitized. I was bitten by insects as I tried to sleep which were in the pillows.

Changes at Celebrity by chieffrancar

Celebrity no longer treats you like a celebrity. For some reason they are obviously lowering their standards. Maybe to drive people to the more expensive line they own, which I think is Silverseas. In any event, their product has changed.

Carry on bags for less waiting on and off. Book excursions through the cruise line. Make sure to get a room with a balcony. Try to get Andrew as your steward, he's fantastic!

Very cheap (4eu) public transport available from inside the dock to the Parthenon and ticket allows for unlimited travel within the city. New shuttle service form port to Rome. Almost as cheap (15eu) as the train and so much more convenient. Leaves at 9:30 and takes about 1 hour.

I would suggest paying your gratuities up front to get the 'select dining'. Otherwise you will be seated at 6p or 8p and have to share a table. If you do get the select dining, there will be a short wait for a table between 7-8p. Be sure to make reservations for all formal nights.
