Celebrity Xpedition overview

The all-oceanview Celebrity Xpedition is the first among Celebrity's fleet to visit worlds untouched by civilization. Unlike traditional cruise ships, this 100-passenger yacht is able to cruise to smaller, less-traveled destinations like the Galapagos Islands and Antarctic ports. A naturalist accompanies guests on each magnificent Galapagos Island excursion, then shares additional expertise during evening lectures. After a day of exploration, treat your body to a relaxing massage or a dip in the rejuvenating whirlpool. Dine on gourmet cuisine at Darwin's Restaurant and the open-air Beagle Grill. End each night by admiring your favorite constellation through on-deck telescopes.

TRIP OF A LIFETIME! by Dancer49

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Xpedition

We have been on many cruises and this is the best one yet! Celebrity went out of their way to be assured that everything went smoothly, including helping with flights at the airport when weather caused delays. This is a cruise of a lifetime with lots of activities to learn about the wildlife and the islands. There are 2 activities in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Kayak, snorkel, hike, boat trip around the island are some examples. You pick whichever you want. Everything is planned out and you just have to show up. We were sad that it was over!

Nature at its Best- Galapagos Islands by Cruiser91829025

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Xpedition / Destination: Galapagos

An action packed go-go -go experience for nature lovers. The small ship gives opportunities for different kinds of interactions with others on the trip as well as the staff. The Nature staff was outstanding and the Zodiac drives had super skills. All in all a wonderful experience.

This was unlike any cruise we were on. It was amazing to be so in touch with nature. Beautiful landscapes, animals, mammals, fish, etc.

1) The internet is VERY slow if you can get on at all. There should be a way that they can fix this. 2) I would recommend that if you have your own snorkeling mask, you bring it. The ones that they provide are a 1 size fits all style that doesn't.

Warning! The ship had run aground a few months ago and was out of service for several months. We called Celebrity about a month before we sailed and we’re told the ship was already back in service. However, we were actually the first time it sailed. We were told that previous sailings were cancelled each week two days before embarkation! Most people had other travels arranged before and/or after the cruise. Celebrity dropped the ball in cancelling week after week. (Celebrity- if there is more to the story, please post). Still, we did get to go and it was an amazing experience!

This is a small ship in the Pacific. We did rock a lot, but the wave frequency was slow enough it didn't seem to be a problem for seasickness. I am not aware of anyone who had bad seasickness, but plan of bringing an ear patch if you tend to get sick.
