Very nice places. I would like to see some improvement of the bad ones. Maybe chose a deferent ports for the bad ones. I would have liked to see an adult pool. A late night on board move would be nice to watch under the stares.

Mediterranean Cruise by D79477BWjBIOO26VFmgAAZWKv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The Vista is a fabulous ship although I think it is a bit TO big for me.  It was wonderful to be on a ship so new...everything was so clean with the exception of the 2 most utilized ladies rooms.  I spoke with an attendant and it is apparently due to the number of Ladies restrooms and only 3 staff to clean them.  A little hard to keep clean.  The anytime dining option worked great and we loved our wait staff who we requested each night.  My favorite place onboard is the Alchemy Bar and the staff of 3 ladies were awesome! Piano bar with Ben is fun as always but is considered "adult only" after midnight.  He is a great entertainer.  I have to say that the production shows were the best I have seen in a long time.  The Vista definitely has the cream-of-the-crop when it comes to the singers and dancers!  Sadly though, the Liquid Lounge where the show are held  is very poorly designed and small feeling.  There are many obstructed views on the lower level and many of the seats are moveable.  There are really no tables for drinks and the seats can be positioned VERY close together.  The upper balcony is tight and again, no place to put a beverage. The Ports were nice but I would prefer one more sea day.  I know that when you spend almost as much to fly as you do to cruise it makes you want to see as much as possible, but with only one sea day and some very lengthy port days it is a bit much.  The weather was HOT and the crowds were terrible in all of the cities.  It would be a better time in the late spring or early fall to visit the Mediterranean .  Over all the trip was fantastic! I think that i will choose a smaller ship next cruise so that I am able to make use of the entire ship.  This is only my opinion though and the Vista is a lovely addition to the Carnival family.

European Cruise by abgrenn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The Vista was beautiful. We had a lovely time. You would never know there were 4000 passengers on board, it was never crowded.  The staff was friendly and nice.  Overall it was not as nice as other cruises we have been on. We think this is more a trend in the industry and not a reflection on the ship.  We notice each time that we cruise that they are less elegant.  The food quality has declined and even the upcharge Italian restaurant was not impressive (would not recommend it.

Fantastic Havana Cabana Cabins by Nmtcc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We luved being on a new ship and the Mediterrarean itinerary.  The Havana Cabana Deck Cabins are awesome.  I have claustrophia and it was wonderful to see the ports from my deck.  The Carnival Hub App ($5) was great to keep in contact with your group, what's happening every day, pictures, your account - essential app.  There is so much on the ship to do that it's impossible to do it all.  The Havana Cabins are kid-free and they have Family Harbor if you have kids - great concept.  We had our own private pool and are for most of the day.  Staff, entertainment and food were outstanding.

Amazing! by nroales636

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was an amazing cruise. We visited six countries. The ship has so much to do that you could spend a week on it do everything. The kids on our trip were constantly entertained, and the adults had fun or relaxed. With this cruise, we only had one day at sea, and we all wished we'd had one more day at sea, even if that meant making it an 11-night cruise. We just wanted one more day toward the end to relax. The staterooms were amazing -- such a big difference from my last cruise 16 years ago.Happy

Very nice itinerary, good value for the price, ship layout, food and entertainment are okay. by Scotteh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The ship stopped at many nice ports.  Considering we were mid-ship in the Lido deck with balcony the price was pretty good at about $135 a day.  The rooms were slightly cramped, but nor bad knowing space onboard is at a premuim, although we thought The balcony itself was a little small.  The excursions were well priced compared to other options, and as long as you aren't on a "Top 10"  (mostly bus tour) excursion were nice, and those including lunch or dinner were very good.

The ship layout is a little confusing as they require you to go through certain common areas (e.g. Casino) in order to get to other areas of the ship, which required us to pass through a smoking area.  The ship diagrams by the elevators help when you get disoriented or can't get from fore to aft on certain decks (e.g. deck 3 where the crew is quartered).  Some of these are common on ships, but hoping they would do something different with new ship designs.  I was surprised given the fact the cruise was fully booked, that we could usually find a place poolside during the day.

The good at standard dining was only okay.  Guy's burgers, The Blue Iguana and JiJi's (lunch free) were nice free alternatines no-cost alternatives.  The on-board service was pretty good.

The entertainment was hit-and-miss.  Most of the shows were not as good as other cruise lines I've been on, but there were a couple of gems (e.g. Flick), and while the comedy shows were also hit-and-miss, it was nice to have this as an alternative to the regular shows.

While it was not a bad cruise or experience, my wife and I (soon free to travel without our teenager who is becoming an adult and doesn't really care for travel) will be looking for a more upscale cruise experience, so we will probably cruise on a more mid to upper scale cruise lines (versus budget oriented).  So it's A matter of preference, not value or experience.  This is a was a good value for the money.

New Ship-Highs and Lows by donnawinder

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The best part of the cruise was the port intensive itinerary which allowed us to visit 5 different countries. Entering and leaving the ship was efficient and quick. The cabins were spacious and very pleasant. The food was surprisingly good for this size and type of ship. Our main dining room head waiter was superb. Evening movies on deck were great. Comedy shows were good but too crowded.

Noise at night made sleeping difficult some nights. Initially our party was not seated together and it took aggressive effort to fix this but it was fixed. There were insufficient pools for the very hot weather. A long line for the skyride lessened the enjoyment of this feature. The serenity deck was too small and only had a hot tub. Drinks were small and expensive. The card dispensing beer tap was a good and fast option. Lines were too long in the Lido deck to get breakfast quickly before going to port. The dining room was a better option but it took time and there was not change in the daily menu. Excursions offered by Carnival had too many people per bus and were too expensive. Local private options were more comfortable and much cheaper. Missed the bagels/cream cheese and lox room service breakfast option (a lot). Missed the table cloths in the dining room and the midnight buffet. The customer service desk was pretty much useless and crowded.

Good itenirary by nadiasheibani

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Nice ship, good staff. It will be nice if some information is printed and placed in the rooms about the ports of call. For example the docking in Civitaveccia was in a commercial port and the walk or shuttle is quite a distance from the ship to the port exit and then more time either waiting for a shuttle or walking to the train sation and the train is more than an hr to Rome. It would've been helpful to know these simple facts so those like us not doing excursions know what to expect. Some facts about each port and city would've been very helpful. Same with Napoli as Pisa and Flourence as quite a distance from the port. If I knew ahead of time that the docks are so far from the destination I may have chosen a diiferent itenirary.

Wonderful Trip by dr928

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

It was our first time to Europe, and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Spain, Italy and France.  The weather was beautiful, and so was the ship.  The cruise staff did and a great job keeping everyone involved in activities, and having a good time.  The trip was fast paced as almost every day we were in a new port with lots of things to see.  I highly recommend taking a tour, or hiring a driver.  The roads and driving scene is not at all like the US, and our one venture driving in Barcelona, was exhilarating, and harrowing at the same time.  Take my word for it, and leave the driving to the pros.  The embarkation left a little bit to be desired as there was a long line, and it took a while to get through check in.  They needed more of a covered area to wait in.  Debarkation was extremely smooth, with little to no waiting at all.  Our room steward did a great job, and the wait staff in the restaurants did a great job also.  I really had no complaints, and couldn't have asked for anything more.  It was our first time cruising with a balcony stateroom, and now I will be hard pressed to cruise any other way.  It was delightful to get out of bed in the morning, and go out to the balcony and watch as the ship cruised in to the port, and docked.

Loved it by darlabaynes

Matt the Cruise Director and his staff was great. I love Marq he to was very helpful and he keep the party going.   Jassmin from Lido and Reflections Dining Hall catered to our group every day.  We would look for his section because of his sun and bright disposition.  Benjamin, Sucardi (i hope i spelled it close to right) Mr. D (Who was our bar runner)  and there is one more Server however I can't remember his name at this time,  they were a great team and made dining in the dining room a great experience.

NEW SHIP, NEW ADVENTURES by chrisandjoyce

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We booked a Mediterranean cruise to explore new countries, and had a good time visiting Italy and France, and staying in Barcelona before and after the cruise.

VIsta is a new ship, and Carnival's biggest.  It didn't 'blow us away' as we thought it might.  We had previously sailed on the Valor, and thought it just as nice, if not nicer.

Staff were very friendly and helpful (though trying to find our 'your own dining' the first time was difficult).  A balcony cabin is recommended to enjoy some quiet time, and feel less claustrophobic.

On this cruise, too many things to pay for (restaurants and buses to the port terminals).  This is NOT a relaxing tour, as you'll always want to be going to see things (and they are some distance away) -- not Carnival's fault, just the way this tour happens.

Food was good, though Lido buffet seemed to have less choices than the Valor we had sailed on before.

Easy boarding and exiting, getting off the ship with so many people was also easy.  The elevators seemed slower than on Valor though.

I would not go out of my way to sail again on the Vista.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

i truly enjoyed every aspect of the cruise. it  is the first cruise that i have been on where i did not have one complaint. the  ship had everything conveniently located from the center of the ship, the food was outstanding no matter where we ate,the staff was totally professional and a joy to be around, the entertainment was first class from the comedians to the stage shows, the ports were an experience we will never forget and all of our expectations were met and exceeded. carnival should be proud of themselves on this one, it was evedent that lots of thought was put onto the construction of this ship with an eye on the customer.

Good itinerary, good food, dedicated crew by rush005

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The best part of our cruise was the after dinner musicals, we did not use much of the theater as the programs lacked our interest, maybe due to the excursions in Rome and Cinque Terre, which was raining the whole trip from Livorno. The daily papers may need some improvements. Would recommend this cruise to friends and relatives

Great cruise and great ship! by dianeedwards

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We loved this cruise ... the boat is new and modern and has lots to do. Very good nightly shows ... lots of comedy shows which we loved and all the entertainment was top-class.  The food was great ... maybe not quite as good as some other ships, but that made it just a little easier to not eat so much!! But overall it was all excellent! The extended excursions were very expensive. Stopped at some great ports along the way.

Exciting vacation had on the Carnival Vista by tracyleescott

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Overall I had an amazing time on the 10 day Mediterranean cruise. I did find excursions and other non-inclusive items on the cruise to be more pricey than my previous cruises. I was excited to discover an IMAX on the ship, but was disappointed to find that it was a chargeable extra. As well as the snacks. I think Carnival could have possibly increased my fare by $30 per person and I would not have noticed, but I would have left with that "all-inclusive" feeling I was previously accustomed to.

The shopping on the ship was also less than previous ships - less options, But that is a lesser concern for me.

I found there were many restaurant options but also, I lost that all-inclusive feeling Im fond of as many of the novelty restaurants involved a surcharge.

The entertainment was fabulous, especially the shows such as Flick, the Cuban show and America Rocks - off the charts fantastic!!

We had a regular waiter in the Horizons restaurant, Natalje, who was an absolute gem, and always made me feel extra special as she got accustomed to what I liked along the cruise.

Great stops, great food, great ship!! Thank you Carnival Vista!!
