European Cruise

The Vista was beautiful. We had a lovely time. You would never know there were 4000 passengers on board, it was never crowded.  The staff was friendly and nice.  Overall it was not as nice as other cruises we have been on. We think this is more a trend in the industry and not a reflection on the ship.  We notice each time that we cruise that they are less elegant.  The food quality has declined and even the upcharge Italian restaurant was not impressive (would not recommend it.

Cabin / Stateroom
Great location!!
Embarkation and Disembarkation
There was a strike scheduled for the day we were scheduled to set sail. Carnival e-mailed and asked us to show up after 1. The strike did not happen but Carnival didn't send out a new e-mail. Most passengers showed up at 1 and it took hours to get on the ship.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
We loved Turkey! It was very safe. Don't be afraid to get off the ship because it is Turkey.
Rhodes, Greece
Valletta, Malta
Naples, Italy
We stayed in Naples and walked around. I would probably do an excursion at this port if I went back. the city is a dirty city. It was nice but there are better places to go.
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
Rome is a far trip and a crowded city. Amazing sights to see but be prepared-it is a long day.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
Marseille (Provence), France
Barcelona, Spain

Tip

Don't leave the sky ride to the last day. The line was too long and we missed out on doing it. (It is only open a limited amount of time). Don't over pack.
