Don't rush to dinner on the first night m- there will be a line. Go about 5-10 minutes late. Other nights were fine. Do not miss dining in the formal dining rooms at night as the food and service is top notch. We did self debarkation but had to wait for an elevator for about 20 minutes.
Be prepared that it is a very large ship. There are small bars that people don't seem to use like the Havana Bar. It has comfortable seating ,great bartenders, and a good place if you want a quiet drink. Later it has good music too.
First time we have chosen any time dining. It was a correct choice because of all the excursions.
Drinks are expensive. If possible, leave a few breaks from excursions in your plans. Our first 4 days were long excursions and by the 5th day, we really needed a sit on your rear end type break.
Sail when Matt Mitchum is the CD!!! He was awesome & made the entertainment fun.
On debarkation day, have breakfast on deck 5 in the Ocean Plaza. It is uncrowded and a quick breakfast gets you off the ship quickly.
Be sure to make reservations for any specialty restaurants you want ahead of time, or as soon during the cruise as possible. They fill up quickly. Cherry on Top now has ice cream sandwiches with various types of cookies in addition to the sundaes - they're really good and large. If you want a seat to any of the adults-only comedy shows, arrive 30+ minutes early. Sign up for mixology classes/martini tastings at the Alchemy Bar on embarkation day. They aren't heavily advertised but they do fill up.
USE THE MAP! Maps are everywhere, they’ll help you find everything. Also just get out of your cabin and explore!
This is a very nice ship as long as you know what to expect and ask for. Hopefully these tips can help, you
You will love cruise director & activities
Download the Carnival Hub App! Check out the Days' Activities! Learn the Ship's Layout early on! Locate your nearest Laundry Rm & Iron your clothes day 1 -Relax & Happy Cruising!
Take advantage of all the outside seating and try the many different flavors available. Beautiful ship and fabulous cruise director!
Please do not let your teenage children run around the entire ship all night.
It's a great time. The ship is a bit crowded with so many people and if it rains, there's not really a good central point on the ship that fits everyone. The pool was a bit crowded at times. The buffet lines and the pizza lines were unacceptable. Over 45 minutes to get a slice of pizza because people would get to the counter and get 6 pizzas at a time. I wish there was a 2 pizza minimum at one time that could be enforced.
Purchase tours ahead of time and disembark with your luggage.
fun ALL THE WAY BABAE
You do not have to venture to the Serenity area to have some quiet and privacy. Lots of areas on the the port side of the ship where you can sit there with your partner or solo. Read, listen to your music, or just gaze out into the ocean.
My tip is take the longest Cruise you can on this ship and try all the great places to eat !!
First time we have chosen anytime dining. It was a correct choice because of all the excursions.
Be aware that early dining interferes with most shore excursions...we never were back on time or made it to dinner on time. After 18 cruises, this has never been an issue till this cruise
