Spring Break on the Carnival Valor by Springbreakers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Our family had a great time on the Valor. There is always someting to do. We visited many ports and had fun at each one, from shopping in St. Thomas, to plane watching in St Maartin, We took the excurision through Carnival and were very pleased with the operators. We dined at the steak house and took advantage of a special offered at the spa for our girls both were well worth th additional costs. The ship is nicely appointed with its Ameroican Hero theme the staff is very friendly and will do what they can to make sure your experience is enjoyable.

Carnival food poison by Sjucarnival

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My family just cruise with carnival valor from 3/23 to 3/31, we had the worst experience. The first 2 days, we were ok until day 3 when my son got really sick. He started to feel stomach cramp and then vomiting and diarrhea. He got sick right after he ate breakfast at lido restaurant. We took him to the medical center on the ship, they said he had gastrointestinal virus. They quarantined him not getting out the cabin, worst enough. Then found out that they gave him the wrong medicine which made his diarrhea worst. We couldn't wait to end this trip! When we return, we told him to Er and confirmed that he ate something not clean. I called carnival to see what they can do, but they refused to take responsibility. Bad bad bad, don't go with carnival!

Valor was NOT impressive by maritam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I read many reviews prior to booking this cruise. I was not under any illusion that this was going to be a glamorous boat with amazing food. We wanted the islands that this boat had to offer. The food was actually worse than it was on the Dream a year ago and the setup of the bars on this boat was terrible. Everything was very disconnected. The best bar was at the Casino- they had a great band there every night and Corrina makes the BEST Martinis on the boat. BUT you have to deal with the cigarette smoke while you are there. The piano guy was no fun on this ship and the club didn't open until 11pm. We were two singles in our 20's and 30's.. there were very few younger people on this ship. Last year on the dream there were a lot of single groups of people not on this ship. And because there was very little going on between 4 and 10pm.. we were bored. There were couples there celebrating anniversaries that were a bit older than us who also thought it was a boring cruise.

Floating along in the Caribbean! by NoTanLines

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was a low-key and pleasant cruise. The one thing that surprised us was that there were no announcements when we docked at each port to let the passengers be aware of arrival; there also was no announcement of port departure in case someone wanted a photo op. The one low point was discovering that my luggage had been torn open upon loading. When we went to Guest Services they did not suggest an attempt at repair (which has been offered by other cruise lines under such circumstances) and seemed puzzled at what steps to take. We did end up with a credit to our account consisting of an amount approximated from an online search for comparable luggage. Unfortunately we needed luggage for our flight back home so some unnecessary shopping was required. The food was okay but our waiter kept calling us by the wrong name (it was funny the first time). Our room steward was very attentive and never called us by the wrong name. The ports were beautiful, the weather was great, and the seas were calm, so all was good in our little part of the world.

The energy on this ship... by BoringMan

The energy on this ship was whimsical! Departing San Juan at 10:00 PM and watching San Juan fade into the distance. The staff and crew were top-notch and while i was on this I booked another cruise with Carnival.

FUN, SUN, EAT, RELAX. by danip

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my first cruise and my husband's second. We LOVED Carnival's hospitality, professionalism and fun parties and events. We attended shows, pool parties and other events. Our room was always clean and the staff was always friendly. I highly recommend to take a cruise with Carnival, their priorities are for you to have fun and relax. They have highly qualified staff for any kind of vacation you want to take in one ship. They are loud if you want to be loud but you can relax in other sections of the ship if you are not looking for that kind of vacation.

Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We just returned from our Spring Break Family cruise and I must say I am so glad it was on the Carnival Valor! The ship was beautiful, our stateroom, 9201, was excellent and the staff was superb! Our whole family could not wait to vacation, and chose the Southern Caribbean as our destination. The Carnival Valor suited our needs and exceeded them!

Good Cruise for the Price by Terryll24951697

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We wanted to learn to relax and get away for a reasonable price and this fit the bill. We learned that Any time dining may not be the best for us as on other cruises we liked that the wait staff knew us and we got to know the others at our table whereas this is not the case with any time dining. We also need to go to places with more to do and see than beaches because of sun allergies but that is not Carnival's fault. We still had a good time. The ship never felt crowded. There were plenty of choices of activities and good shows.

Great Cruise by patrickoglesby

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was terrific. There was wonderful entertainment on board. I herd bad things from other people about the magician that was on board but did not see the show personally. Took island tours on all the islands. The Islands of St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and St. Lucia are all really commercialized so just be aware of that. The Island of St. Lucia charges extra entrance fees to all the sites that ranges $3.00 pp to $8.00 pp US. These fees are on top of the excursion fee that you pay for, so keep this in mind when stopping in St. Lucia. The tour drivers on St. Kitts provide free water, soda, and water at each stop so you do not have to buy a drink. This was wonderful extra bonus that we were not expecting.

Simply but amazing by lkflorent

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I loved the carnival Valor it was our first cruise so we was impress with everything. We kind of did our own thing but the staff was amazing .They was at your every need our housekeeper Danek, servers Alexander, Bernard and Carlo made our trip feel like we was home again. The port stops was amazing. The comedy show and broadway musical was awesome everything fell into place . I wish the comedy show was held in the Idahoe theather because the eagles lounge was too small but we all fit once you was on time. we ate laugh shop sleep felt like a great getaway when you are a busy mom someone finally attending to all your needs. We wanted to secure a night at the Resturant $35.00 per person but the regular resturant which was the FREE one was super amazing and whats better than not paying. In the evenings when we came home from a busy day at the various ports we would call room service to bring us something while we shower. I wish room service could give regualr food from the buffet too but i guess that was too much pick n choosing for them.

Absolutely Awesome by zmusson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I recently cruised on the Carnival Valor. I was a first time cruiser. It was absolutely awesome. The food was awesome. The staff were always friendly and helpful. They all seemed to really love their job. It was my birthday a friend organized for my room to be decorated and reserved a table at dinner and a birthday cake. They sang happy birthday. It was jus myself and my 13 year old daughter she thoroughly enjoyed herself as well. There was plenty on board to entertain both if us. I have already planned my next cruise with Carnival.

Fun filled vacation by SFCruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a great time on the fun ship! Look forward to going again. Suggest an hour longer at ports like we had in St. Thomas. The food could be a little more exciting in the dinning room.

Carnival Valor by bmw325xi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The staff were very accommodating, especially in the dining room where I had a restricted diet. Shows were great. Would have liked a steel drum band on the pool deck as I have had on other cruises. Did not like at all that the air conditioning was too high -I froze on the inside of the ship every day and my husband caught a mega cold from going from the heat outside to inside the ship. I did not appreciate the smoking areas- I have asthma and had to walk through the casino or near it many times to get where I was going. Smoke really bothers me. I did not like the fact that smoking was allowed in the eating area near the buffet. If they worry about fires and do not allow irons on ships, I certainly thing that smoking should not be allowed for this reason and health reasons.
