Spring Break on the Carnival Valor

Sail Date: March 31, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Oceanview

Our family had a great time on the Valor. There is always someting to do. We visited many ports and had fun at each one, from shopping in St. Thomas, to plane watching in St Maartin, We took the excurision through Carnival and were very pleased with the operators. We dined at the steak house and took advantage of a special offered at the spa for our girls both were well worth th additional costs. The ship is nicely appointed with its Ameroican Hero theme the staff is very friendly and will do what they can to make sure your experience is enjoyable.
Ship Quality
clean and bright both inside and out
Food and Dining
Good selections overall, no long waits for food. If you can go to the steak house for dinner it's well worth it.
Cabin / Stateroom
our cabin was excellent very big with a full floor to ceiling window, it was awesome
Service and Staff
very attentive in all levels
Good entertainment overall, the comedy shows were great, the bingo games are expensive
Children's Programs N/A
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
Great, you see alot more leaving San Juan, we booked our excursions through Carnival and were pleased, excursions are less expensive on the dock but I like the security of booking through the line.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Alot of the stores and shops have closed, not the San Juan I remember. Have something to do if you arrive early.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Great price on jewlery, but do your homework before you leave to insure you getting a good deal.
Bridgetown, Barbados
Castries, St. Lucia
Basseterre, St. Kitts
Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Plan to do somethng in San Juan prior to boarding the ship being that you leave at 10:00pm there is alot of down time if you get board early.
