Average Cruise by TammyK3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

The overall ship was in good condition. The stops did not offer much unless you planned a shore trip by the cruise line. The food was above average and our dinning service was the best we have had on a cruise (this was our 7th cruise). The information desk employee were very unprofessional and unhelpful, the worst we have ever encountered.

Very disappointing-won't sail Carnival by MaryD22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

Be aware: you can not drink the water on the ship. not even to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth. bathroom always had a terrible ordor. decor of the ship was so tacky. we have been on many cruises and this was the first time, that we decided NOT to eat in the dining room because the food was just as bad as the buffet...so why bother dressiing up??? water slide was hardly EVER open for the kids too...

Beautiful ship by Kevinn1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

Although we reccommend ship , there were some things we were disappointed with . 1. Selection of food in Buffett dining area in Mermaid Grille was poor. 2. Staff was not friendly , first 2 cruises with carnival staff was much more friendly and livelier, probably something to do with working 80 hrs a week?? 3. Las Vegas style shows , more specifically the dancers and singers were average at best , and poorly thought out shows and choreography ,forget las vegas quality . Although they had some excellent performers they flew in from Vegas that were excellent

A great trip! by JoannaJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

It was my 3rd cruise with Carnival, but I think the previous ones were a little better. The staff was not as enthusiastic as on my other cruises, some of the staff memebers looked tired and sad. The food was great, but the same menu like on the other ships. The shows were good but not as great as on my previous cruises. Overall I enjoyed the cruise - I didn't have to cook, clean, do the dishes, just relax, eat and enjoy the entertainment. The ports of calls were beautiful - incredible views, but very commercial (everybody tried to sell us something). The ship offered a lot of excursions, but the prices were pretty high. I took 2 tours with a local tourist guides (25$ per person for 3.5-4 hours) and we saw almost everything worth to see in Puerto Vallarta nad Mazatlan. Cabo San Lucas was the most expensive place, so I suggest buying souvenirs in Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta.

Another Carnival cruise by DerekF1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

Had a good time getting away. This is my 5th cruise and my 4th with Carnival. There was 5 in my group my wife and I and our 3 kids 15,11,10. The ship is clean and fun. There are always fun things to do for adults and kids. Honestly on this trip I hardly saw my kids when we were at sea because they were always off doing their own thing. My biggest complaint about the ship is the staff. About 25% of them need to find a new line of work. The casino staff was the worst. They were down right nast and rude to us. After the 2nd day we just quit going because it was so bad. No I'm not just a sore loser becuase I was winning. The servers in the Taj Mahal will not serve you if you have a drink card or just want a glass of water but if you order a drink they will have it there in a couple of minutes. On four different occasions my kids either ordered a soda or water and never received their order. I think they work on tips alone and if there is no money in it for them they figure why bother. Although you pay 15% gratutiy on the drink card it self. I have never had this happen on any other cruise so I was very put off by this. The security staff when you get on the ship the first day and off the last day are rude too. They act as if we the customers cruise everday. I way I saw them talk to some of the customers was down right bad.

An excellent cruise! by DebB9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

I was so impressed with every aspect of the ship. It was spotlessly clean and the service was outstanding. The intent of this cruise is to provide a wonderful vacation. The ship director had an outstanding personality and made informative meetings entertaining. There was something for all ages and interests which I appreciated. I am over 55 and enjoy fine music. I found the bands on the ship outstanding. A jazz band, a kettle drum band and a string group were continually provided thoughout the day and into the evening.

Relaxing and Refreshing Cruise by NormaB1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We cruised on the Carnival Pride. What an amazing, beautiful ship. It was an amazing trip. We stayed in a stateroom and loved being able to step out and just listen to the ship moving the water, watch some dolphins chase the ship and especially experience the sunsets and sunrises. Our most impressive part of the ship was our room steward and those who served our dinner meal, we were treated like royality. The stewards especially seemed to go in and out of our room making our time so wonderful. The evening shows were another hit, we love entertainment and that was fabulous. Cruising is an amazing way to travel...no fatigue...no bugs on the window....no ears popping to adjust to the altitude or confinement with a seat belt. THANK YOU Even though we were traveling to Mexico and certainly excited to see that country, we actually enjoyed our time on the ship more. There was so much to do and see. We definitely are going to begin planning another cruise. It's just agreeing on which one next. Thank you for an amazing time, a friendly and gracious staff and just overall WOW time.

A good cruise turned into a great cruise by BertC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

It was clean and most of the staff did their best to please everyone........On our first day at sea, four guys got drunk on the 9 th deck lounge area.........They were loud, obnoxious and swearing continually.......At one time two of them picked another up and I thought they were going to throw him overboard......The bartender continued to serve them and did not call security ........

An entertaining and relaxing trip!! by KathleenV1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

The ship was always clean and all the employees were so friendly!! I love the representation of all the different nationalities! The food really was good and superb in the Normandie Dining Room! There was lots of entertainment and plenty of announcements and prior information given. The Carnival Caper is such a great help! The talks about the excursions and ports were invaluable. Overall, I was very impressed with the whole cruise. Even our rooms were always cleaned and all the 'extra' little touches like the towel animals made us feel so pampered. The spa services were so nice, I had a wonderful massage the first night. They were a little pushy selling products; to be expected I guess. The ONLY two things I could suggest is a better brand of coffee in the Mermaid Grille and post limitation signs on the hot tubs (there may already be signs, but I don't remember noticing). We tried numerous times to get into the hot tubs and they were always full of young people who would stay in them for 1-3 hours at a time! There was always so much to do and yet so many ways to just relax. Thank you, it was what we busy, selp-employed people needed!! One more thing, the excursions were nice, but the sailing ones at Cabo San Lucas were great! Mazatlan had a lot of extremely pushy vendors. More than anywhere else. And we loved walking the streets of Puerto Vallarta and taking the jeep excursion up into the villages in the hills. Fun!!

Great last minute cruise by JohnG38

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We made the reservations and planned this trip within one week of sailing. We had a room for four with two twenty somethings up in the upper bunks. we had just enough room. Most of our time was spent around the ship or on shore. The inside cabin was a bargain for us, more comfortable when the ship was moving around. The food selection was very large and the food was great. We always selected something different and enjoyed the experience. The chocolate melting cake was the ultimate family hit. The staff was very efficient and did their job without bothering us. Our room was taken care of very well and we never saw the cabin attendent for the first 5 days. When we did want to converse with the staff, they were very interesting and friendly. This cruise / ship attracted many nice people who were interested in talking with others. No one seemed to have their nose up in the air. Formal nights were not too formal, just comfortable since most guys had suit or sport coats.

Can't Wait To Do It Again! by DorisE2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We recently went on a cruise with Carnival Pride and as our first cruise we were unsure what to expect. We throughly enjoyed our trip and would have been perfectly happy to stay on board the ship the entire trip. Although our children did not participate in "Camp Carnival" because they were shy and wanted to stay near us we still did not run out of things to do with them. We played mini-golf and enjoyed the pools nearly every day. Even on the one high winds day there were several indoor activities and they covered one of the outdoor pool areas with their retractible roof so we still had plenty to do. I would recommend the Carnival Pride to anyone whether travelling with your family or otherwise.

The Mexican Cruise by AnnO1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

Over all, the ship is fine. There are a lot of places to go and do things at all times of the day and night. They have several restaurants including a 24 hour one and room service which is also 24 hours. There is gernerally some type of entertainment on stage most evenings. If it is for adults only, it is not put on until midnight. It is nice that before each port of call, there is a talk about it and maps handed out for it. The stateroom that we are familliar with was a good size and had a balcony.
