Good time by legalanne

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This cruise out of Baltimore is great, only a 3 1/2 hr. drive and easy to get to.   The staff was friendly and the food was good.   The entertainment lacked a little, but there are other things to do.   The Punchliner  was great.   We absolutely enjoyed Grand Turks and Half Moon Cay.   Freeport is a waste of time and wish they would go to another port instead.

Great Experience! by Shannon1225

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The entertainment on this cruise is great! Always something going on and something to do. The club for the little ones is awesome. Drop your kids off around noon pick them up before dinner then you can drop them off again. They have tons of activities for the kids. Also the adult comedy shows were my favorite always different jokes and actually funny ones. Sometime during the cruise they dropped off the two comedians after a few nights and picked up two new ones. The murder mystery was also entertaining. My family and I had a blast on this cruise! The food though wasn't always good. We skipped the dinners and went to the buffet. It was good but not the greatest. But this cruise is definitely one I would take again. Even though the food was okay, there was never a boring moment.

Family of four had a great time by eronsorrell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Me, my wife, 4 year old son, and 6 year old daughter had a great time.  It was our first cruise.  Lots of activities for kids and adults.  We had an extended balcony.  The level of service was great and the food was good, especially at David's a Steakhouse.  We would definitely go on another Carnival cruise.

Family Fun by rachellesalomon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

24 hours per day there were activities for all ages!  Our family group ranged from age 3 years old to 76 years old and we all had a great time!  We took advantage of all the activities from Camp Carnival for the small kids, Circle C and Club 02 for the teens, and the Casino and Club for the adults.  We enjoyed time all together during meals, entertainment shows, and excursions.  We love it!  Thank you Carnival staff!!!

Our 5th Cruise by LoversCruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Our first time in an inside cabin and we were pleasantly surprised. Lots of closet space for a week of clothes and 2 formal nights. The food was very good and a lot of choices. The ship is older but clean and easy to get around. Service was good and our waiters were excellent and dinner in the dining room was very gourmet. Presentation was top notch !

Cruise to the Bahamas, July 2014 by degleason

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was an absolutely wonderful cruise aboard the Carnival Pride.  The cabin stewards were efficient and neat, knew our names by the end of the first day.  We dressed up and attended dinner in the formal dining room every night, for the 6:00 seating.  The food was excellent, and there were plenty of vegetarian choices for me.  Our dining room wait staff were also fast and efficient, but we never felt rushed at dinner.  Our wine steward was very attentive, but not pushy.  Everyone in the dining room greeted us like family when we arrived for dinner.  The shows and entertainment onboard were excellent, especially the three comedians we heard perform.  The activities offered suited everyone in our group, which varied in age from 12 to almost 60.  My son had great fun at the onboard Ping Pong tournament!  He also enjoyed the Arcade, and some members of our group spent time in the Casino.  The pools were nice, especially the adult Serenity area, and the wait staff were attentive.  Three of our party took advantage of a Spa mini package, which was value-priced and absolutely wonderful!  We felt relaxed and pampered.  Our three days in port were extremely enjoyable, and we participated in a variety of wonderful excursions.  The whole cruise experience was fabulous, and it was one of the best we've been on!

June 2014 - Bahamas by joyall40

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Going in/out of Baltimore is the way to go.  The port employees really have their act together.  We stayed at a hotel the night before, took a cab to the port, and the driver stayed with us until the porter freed us of our luggage. The next time we saw our luggage, it was in our room. After boarding, we checked out our room, ate and checked out the ship. By that time our luggaage was in our room; we grabbed our suites and were at the pool. The cruise was lovely, the staff superb, the food in most instances was very good. I had signed my grandchildren up for the activities for their age group and although they felt the activities for their age group were immature, they certainly found enough to keep them busy.   We had a wonderful time, met some lovely people. We stayed on board when the ship docked at Cape Canavaral, went to Atlantas in Nassau and snorkled in Freeport.  Atlantas was extremely disappointing, especially for the amount charged.  Snorkling with Diana and Pat in Freeport was the best.  The worst part of the trip was waiting to leave the ship.  We were told to be out of our rooms by 8:30 a.m.  We sat in our waiting area for nearly 3 hours. There were apologies for the delay and it was announced that we could go to the Lido Deck or to our rooms.  The grandchildren were hungry and restless so we opted to eat and sit on the outside deck.  Once our number was called and we left the ship, the employees at the Baltimore port were great.  Whizzed right through customs, went to our designated station where our luggage was waiting for us as was a cab to take us to the train station.  The cruise I took 7 years ago was a major disappointment and I said then that I'd never take another; however, this cruise to the Bahamas has changed my mind. My reasons for the 3 star are the activities for my grandchildren's age groups and the waiting to get off.

I enjoyed this cruise by itynuv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I enjoyed this cruise very much.  Carnival is a great company to go on the cruise with, they have a great amount of focus on keeping thier customers happy and satisfied, so when you're cruising with Carnival, you feel like you're one of the most important people in the world.  I will definitely go on another Carnival cruise.

The reason I gave this cruise four stars instead of five is because there were a few things that can be improved.  One of them is the size of the swimming pool.  This cruise has three sea days, when everyone is on the ship all day long, under the hot sun, or AC, whichever they prefer.  This ship has lots of family friendly activities, but bot everyone there is with the family (kids), and not everyone likes to join those activities.  I was going to the cruise to Bahamas, so that I could enjoy the heat, the ocean, and, during sea days, the pool.  The problem is that I wasn't the only one who wated to enjoy the pool, there were many (MANY) others who wanted the same.  This whip has three pools: two in the family friendly environment, with bunch of kids running around, yelling, paying, etc.  That where fun and loud activities took place.  There were alot of people there, no emply seats or beds, it seemed that everyone who had children on the ship spent their days there.  And a third pool, in the adult only "Serenity" lounge.  Very nice and quiet. Peaceful. But, unfortunately, everyone who didn't have children (or so it seemed), wanted to spend their time there.  This peaceful, adult only area, was not big enough for all the adults who wanted to chill there.  The pool was tiny, much smaller than family pools, and if you wanted to go in the water, because it was so hot under the sun, you had to sqeeze between other people, and sit in the pool like a sardine in the can.  It felt like a very big pool party, where no one knew each other.  Some people may enjoy it, but I felt like I needed more space.

Another thing, I believe, can be imporved, is their food options.  Don't get me wrong, you will not be hungry on this cruise ship, in fact, I gained 11lb.  There was a lot of food, but not very healthy.  There's a restaurant that offers different menu every day, very good choices there, but I didn't find the quality of that food to be great.  It was ok, but not what I'd expect from a high class restaurant.  There's also a buffet, that offered food pretty much all day long.  During the day they had American food (burgers and hot dogs), Italian food (pasta), Asian food (rice, noodles, and variety of meat), and salad bar.  They also had pizza (very good), sandwiches (ok), and pastries all day long.  And late night stacks.  For people who are trying to eat healthy, salad was the only option, and that's not enough to stay full during the day.  And if you like to eat, like I do (despite trying to eat healthy), you'll eat everything, because you're on vacation so why not.  So what I would like to change is to add more healthy variety of food, like vegetables (cooked).

Evening entertainment was great, comedy shows, dance and singing shows, kareoke, games, etc.

If you purchase an excursion, which I recommend, they have everything very well organized and easy to follow.  If I could turn time back, I would do this criuse all over again.  But when I book another cruise with Carnival, I'd like to try a different ship, and different destination.  It is my understanding that all their ships are pretty much the same, with the exception of few events and venues.  I'd like to see what they have to offer.

cruise by rueggrollers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

the rooms were nice and couldn't have been any cleaner.  Disappointed in the pools.  shouldve had a pool that was big enough for teenagers to play around in. the slide could ve been nice and easier to slide down. Food was excellent, lots of variety.  The tipping at the end was very confusing.  We thought tip was included, then people were handing the waiters and maids envelopes with more money in them.  I understand that guests should be well groomed and clean when eating in dining room.  I wish someone would have told us ahead of time that khaki shorts and a nice polo shirt werent nice enough for our teenage boys, as we were turned away from the dining room. Very frustrating after we paid alot for our whole family to get on that boat.  The performers on the boat are very well and deserve alot of credit.

Okay trip, Staff Amazing, food okay, room very nice by dorish1950

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I was not very fond of the decor of the ship, but that is a personal taste thing.  Many of the common rooms were quite dark. The dinning room staff were exceptional--Table 212 @6:00 seating. The guests services desk was very helpful and understanding.  Our room was nice, steward was very helpful and I was traveling with an ex-husband with disabilities and a sister that was on her first cruise. We had a balcony and I don't think I will cruise again without a balcony. Carnival uses a very poor system for their bingo games and should take lessons from Royal Caribbean where the game is concerned. I found the ports rather disappointing, but we did enjoy the Ecotour on Half Moon Cay and I took my sister on a private taxi tour of Grand Bahama, which turned out great. I must say the dis-embarking on Sunday morning was unbelievably smooth and quick, a real treat!

I had a very relaxing cruise, just thought that we were at sea to much. I expected to stay a day at each port. But my overall 1st experience was all good, I requested a handicapped room and it was very spacious and made my cruise so wonderful for this reason.

Spring Get-a-away by gibbonscm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I was very excited about this cruise taking off from Baltimore (I live 2.5 hours away) and didn't need airline reservations to another departure point.  Embarkadation was swift and we were onboard only after 1 hour.  The ship sailed at designated time and we were able to go to our room within 2 hours.  The food seemed at best "cafeteria food".  However, later in the cruise it seemed to be upgraded and by the end of the cruise I would say it reached a level 4 star only b/c we dined in the dinnng room most of our meals.  I would like to say that David's Steakhouse was amazing!!  5 STAR!!  It is worth every extra dollar that is charged.  Our selections for dinner (18 oz. ribeye for him and my surf 'n turf) were excellent and the staff as well!  After 3 cruises, we finally dined at David's and I will always dine while on Carnival Pride!  The housekeeping staff was excellent, always had clean towels and a new towel figure in the room.  The cruise director did a good job keeping everyone busy with activities.  I believe the only way to cruise is to get a balacony room, we brought 12 bottles of water each and 1 bottle of wine each.  We did enjoy that! Oveall I would depart again from Baltimore on another cruise with a different path.

Great Cruise! by skarob

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I loved this cruise!  There was so much to do and so much good food to eat.  We didn't even get to do everything we wanted to on the ship because there were so many activities to be had.  I loved the comedy club and hope they keep it when they redo the ship in October.

Not what I expected by LTrent

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My vacation began on Friday after work prior to the Sunday we left with an email from the cruise line that my cruise was going to stop in Charleston, South Carolina and not Freeport Bahamas as expected.  Unfortunately I was not able to reschedule my cruise as others did because of the planning of my husbands and I job, kids school schedule etc.  This was my first cruise and my husband had been on many others so I had some expectations of the type of hospitality that we were going to receive.  Many of the crew did not speak english very well so it was difficult to understand the "all inclusive alcohol beverage package".  What we didnt find out until after purchasing the $400 all inclusive "cheers" package was that you receive smaller beverages than anyone who purchased by the glass $8.95 per drink price.  So essentally it was 2 drinks to the 1 normal galss size when purchasing this program.  Oh and by the way there was a 15 drink per day maximum with this program and if you were in port and received a drink you had to be pay a port tax in addition.  The weather was very rough the first day so I got sea sick and was in bed sick for the first day and then the boat stopped in South Carolina and it was 68 and rain so we didn't even get off the boat because we didnt have rain gear.  The lines were very long for lunch so you have to be make sure you do not eat and peak lunch times.  The pizza line was always enormous but it was open 24 hours but always a line for it.  The late dinner crew was excellent.  Jorge and Florine were excellent entertainers, my girls loved them.  Dann the steward was extremely friendly and went out of his was to remember our names.  We went to a few shows and comedy clubs which were really good.  We were asked to leave the comedy show early one night to let the next shift in when the comedian wasn't finished which was disappointing.  They smoke in the casino's which I was not ready for either.  All in all my girls had a great time in the teenage clubs and they were entertained 24/7.  There were two small pools, one was closed the entire time.  The adult hot tub was closed one full day for some reason.  They would close the slide at 6 pm but sometimes close it early and there were alot of disappointed kids.  Not a good experience for my husband and I.  I was very disppointed but glad but kids had a good time.  I would not return on this particular ship all in all.

Not what we booked for, but made the best of it by chattypatty226

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We booked a BAHAMAS Cruise, not an EAST COAST US CRUISE!!! We booked to go to the Bahamas, We were informed that a transformer or something broke on the ship & they weren't taking us to Freeport, but instead to Charleston NC. because the ship couldn't go it's regular speed of 21 knots. We watched on the tv that the ship was going 20 knots, when we were closer to Baltimore we were only going 4!!! We know it's b/c we would have gotten into Baltimore waaayy too soon! The pool & hot tub  in the Serenty area, over 21 area, was not even filled til Friday when we were just about back!!! The hot tubs & pools were full of kids jumping all over, which was great for them, but we couldn't even get in either. Oh & most of the time one of the pools was closed. NOT Happy! The toilets had a mind of their own, flushing when they wanted to!!! Did not flush when you needed it to be flushed!! The ice machines at the Mermaid Grille, took turns working & not working. I purchased a Majestic Topaz pendant at Nassau. Purchased a different chain on the ship. Left the pendant with the guy selling the " By the Inch" chains so he could have the pendant on the chain before he put the "O" ring on, since the bail was small. Went back to pick it up, the pendant was gone!!! NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!!! I'm furious about that!!!! The guy that sells them wasn't the one that put the clasps on, I lookd at him & said where is my pendant??? He just gave me a dumb look &said I don't know, didn't see that! I KNOW the other guy put it on the chain & put them in the bag!!!!  The selling guy offered me to take one of his charms. I had already bought the charms I wanted. I wanted the pendant I bought in Nassau!!!  He then finally gave me what I paid for it. Well it was never "found" & so I now don't have it!!!! I am really angry about that!!!! I'm sure somone is enjoying MY pendant!!! We enjoyed our family time together, all 6 of us, but had many dissapointments. Shame because we had to wait many years to be able to on on this cruise planning on it being to the BAHAMAS!!! We have already to driven to NC & didn't like it then & didn't like it even more when we were stuck having to go there!!! They offered us 25% off a future cruise, but then that foces us to have to spend more money on their cruise ship!! Gave us nothing for this one that was no fault of ours, it was the faulty ship supposedly. It may take us years to be able to do this again!!! We are not happy! It's sad!!

I've been home 7 days and I'm still in bed sick!! by prbyda

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It's a shame. the boat was lovely, the majority of the staff was very helpful. 3 major problems 1. I have been sick for an entire week and been to the doctors twice and both times they have concurred I picked up a nasty virus from this cruise. 2. Our destinations change without us knowing? U say u sent us an email, yeah didn't get that until we were in baltimore. 3. I walk with a cane, the ship was incredibly rocky the first 2 days so I needed to get a wheelchair so I would stop falling. You actually charged me $175.00 -- that is some crappy customer service. This is the 2nd time I've given carnival a chance and if I realized anything. You get what you pay for.
