IT WAS MY FIRST CRUISE AND i LOVED IT.  THE SERICE AND THE FOOD WAS WONDERFUL AND THERE WAS SO MUCH TO DO.  THE CREW MEMBERS WERE FRIENDLY AND ALWAYS THRE TO HELP.  THE SELECTION OF FOOD WAS UNBELIEVEABLE.  I TRIED SO MANY DIFFERENT MENUS THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE TRIED AT HOME.  THE PORTS WERE VERY INTERESTING AND THE BEACHES WERE BEAUTIFUL, LIKE A PICTURE IN A MAGAZINE.  I FELT PAMPERED.

Could have been better by mizchampagne

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The ship was nice but some of the staff was so unfriendly.  No smiles or anything.

I will choose a trip with no kids next time.  The parents let their children run free and staff couldn't control them or didn't want to.

Drinks were sooo high.  I have bartend on the side for 19 years and $10 for a margarita was just a bit too much and I didn't like how the how you had to pay for EVERY DRINK when you ordered instead of a tab.

Family vacation and wedding by weddingatsea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Service was exceptional.  We had a wedding take place at Port Canaveral and the staff service was equal to any 5 star facility.  The food for the wedding was bountiful and excellent quality.  We all found activities we enjoyed, from the nightclubs to bingo to karaoke.  The serenity pool was a perfect escape. While this cruise is not perhaps of the same caliber of other lines, such as Celebrity, I would recommend this cruise for those looking to enjoy the experience of a cruise at reasonable pricing and for any age.  My only wish was that there were more adult shows and performances.

Half Moon Cay was our favorite as far as the beach.  The water was beautiful.  Great lunch.  Wish there was a beach at the docks at Freeport.

Fantastic get-away by catherinemangot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Leaving from Baltimore was fabulous for this DC Metro resident and the 2nd time taking Carnival from this port.  This type departure is far more hassle-free than flying to a destination to depart port. The food was excellent (I went free-style with open dining) and I enjoyed exercising the option of selecting an item from the "set" cuisine offerings. The disembarkation process went very smoothly. The directions on how to prepare luggage pick-up the night-before and waiting areas the day-of were executed with military-like precision.  The crew was always sunny/upbeat and made you feel welcome.  I would gladly take this same cruise over again.

Great facilities, Great Staff by terryspitler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Very quiet, fun, enjoyable cruise. We did a great many activities. All were good but our favorite was the "Getaway Island" show. Great fun and great music. The actors were very competent and performed well. Then we went to the Red Frog Pub with the cast between shows to party. It was a great time.

The staff and crew were also wonderful. Our steward, Mr. Wayan was great, as was our server in the dining room, Natalia. The bingo games were fun and the performers in the bars.

I would not hesitate to take this ship again as we had a wonderful time!

Very enjoyable by bryan239

1st time Cruiser,

Check-in was simple. Once on the ship every crew member was friendly and willing to go out of their way to help us get around. This friendliness was there for the entire cruise.

From 7 am until 11 pm there was always something going on, your choice is weather to participate or just relax. The food was all good and many options to choose from. The cleanliness of the ship was top notch!!

We are looking forward to our next cruise

Good time on the Pride. by thomasduane1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This is the third time that I have cruised on the Carnival Pride over the last year and a half.  That being said I enjoyed the upgrades that they had to offer.  The shows were good and overall the food was good as usual.  I enjoyed the new additions of Guy's Burgers and the Mexican burrito place.  As always I really enjoyed David's Steakhouse and went there five nights!  The only thing that I would change if I could was I would eliminate the Freeport day and maybe add a day on one of Carnival's private islands if they have one.  By the way I have cruised solo on all of these.

Spring Vacation by smgansler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

It is so convenient for me to travel out of the Port of Baltimore! I took this same ship in 2010.  Ship, clean.   First stop, Grand Turk, no need for searching for a beach, one is right in front of you!  You definitely need water shoes, very rocky bottom.   Second stop, their private island, was perfect!  Could have stayed there the entire time.  Pool like water, clear and smooth walking.  Music, private play area for children.  Giant cook out, fun!  Last stop, Freeport, lots of shopping, not great prices.  We were only there for a short time.  We did not opt for the beach, too little time.

Very cold and windy on the ship for four out of the seven days.  For Spring break, a Florida port would be smarter.  Pools were too chilly!

We ate at David's Steakhouse, twice!  Worth the 35 dollars per person.  Great food and service.

We also did the Chef's table, only fourteen people.  Worth the 75 dollars per person, surpassed all expectations.  Unlimited wine!  Superb presentation, phenomenal taste experience.  You start with a tour of the kitchen, then dinner, fun magic show, unreal dessert!  The menu changes all the time.  Service was top rate.

My friend enjoyed two spa visits, and could not say enough about the service.

Relaxed, saw three shows, 88 Keys, musical, very good. And two comedians, also very good.

Piano bar was a downer, performer had a cold, and kept on telling us.

Looking Forward to My Next Cruise by mrsglboyd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

As a platinum member my embarkment and disembarkment were expedient. I also enjoyed other privileges that accompanied my status. All of the crew members were respectful, friendly, and helpful. Most went above and beyond the call of duty to enhance the enjoyment of my cruise.

I was a little disappointed with the maître de in the dining room. While he did magic tricks night after night and happily greeted occupants at the table next to mine which seated approximately 20 persons, he only glanced our way and never stopped at the table where my granddaughter and I sat.  I felt left out. This was my granddaughter's first cruise. However, the waiters and waitresses graciously entertained us almost nightly, and their service excellent. My granddaughter was particularly impressed with the animals made from towels that the steward made and placed in our room nightly. He really pampered us by making our beds in the morning; turning the covers back at night and leaving delicious goodies in the room for us. We were grateful for the bathrobes, and the beach towels provided.

The food was delicious, and I was impressed that hand sanitizer dispensers were readily available throughout the ship.  Also, a video frequently aired on the television in our room emphasized the importance of proper hand-washing and gave a great demonstration.  Sanitation/cleanliness seemed to be a priority for the staff, is not taken lightly.

The photographers were professionals and we had many great poses to chose from to help remember our cruise.

I have sailed on Carnival Pride several times, would highly recommend it to my friends, and am looking forward to my next trip.

My First Crusie and It was Awesome! by Roz226

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I had the best time on this trip. It was much more relaxing than taking a trip on and airplane and dealing with the airport stuff. From booking it on with Robert to the staff about ship was fantastic! The room was comfortable and the food was very good. The shows and events on board were loads of fun. The excursions off the ship were fun and the ship has the routine down pat for loading and unloading passengers at the different ports. Little to no lines. It goes pretty quickly. The wait staff and room stewards were fantastic. The room steward came in 2-3 times a day straightening our room and cleaning the bathroom. All around the ship there were hand sanitizer stations as well as several bathrooms. We were well taken care of. I would definitely go again. Already thinking about it. Bring bottled water with you on board. It will save you money. They do have good drinking water on the ship on the Lido Deck and in the Dinning Room.

Great Service, Great Ports, Terrible Youth Program by nomilam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This cruise was a great deal more crowded than the same one we took the week after easter last year.  Service was still excellent from room stewards and waitstaff.  I am continually impressed with the friendly and helpful staff aboard this ship.  They did a fantastic job. The biggest disappointment for our family was that  (traveling with our four kids) our oldest daughter, who recently turned 18 and is in her senior year of high school, was no longer allowed to take part in the youth programs but was clearly not old enough for a vast majority of adult activities, many of which include alcohol.  She was lonely and bored for much of the cruise and this could have been so easily remedied by a few activities where the 18,19 and 20 year olds on board could meet each other and establish some friendships.  The youth programs in general which were excellent and very engaging to all our kids the year before, were quite lackluster this time around.  Most days the kids went to Camp Carnival or O2 only to drift back within the hour.  There was just not the leadership and inclusive atmosphere this time around.  The youth leaders were more apathetic and in the background.  Other kids on board seemed to feel the same, because by the end of the cruise there were just vast crowds of roaming, bored adolescents everywhere being load, rude and sometimes dangerous.  Obviously the youth programming hadn't really "grabbed" these kids either, as they preferred roaming the ship to whatever activities were provided.  This was such a great change from last years youth program that it will really impact our decision to travel with Carnival again.

Just needed to get the sun by carolelegal52

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Everything went well except for our anytime dining.  It is anytime they can squeeze you in.  Not happy getting a buzzard to wait 20 minutes after in line for 15 minutes.  All else was great.  My error forgot kids would be off from school!bu

After 23 cruises it's just not the same.  No personal care/understaffed and when in the buffet the bussers just don't see all the dirty tables and people walking around waiting for one.

Gliding on the Pride by vickier88

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall, the cruise was wonderful. Though the ship is older, it is well maintained. Our cabin was clean and comfortable ( sixth floor balcony ). The best part of the cruise was the staff supporting Jase, a really great cruise director. There was plenty to do when the sun got to be too much.  Ken, the maitre d' was excellent and accommodated all of our dining requests. He has a wonderful singing voice. Our waiter, Orlando, was fabulous.  Serenity deck is truly serene...no kids at all!   Our cabin steward has to reminded several times to supply additional towels, but eventually he got the program.  The only negative was the lack of exciting ports.  Grand Turk offers a pool or beach.  Freeport is not as terrific as Nassau for shopping.  But I loved the fact that we left the cold north and moved to the 84 degree sunny Caribbean.  I really prefer Carnival over the other cruise lines I have been on because they truly try to make passengers happy .
