If you do not drink a lot do not purchase the drink package. I would definitely not put more than 2 or 3 in one room.

I would tell them to do their research because as new cruisers we didn't really know what to do. Luckily we were vacationing with seasoned cruisers who showed us the ropes. Carnival could maybe give a little briefing to first time cruisers

The cruise director dr. E has hilarious shows, try to go to as many as you can including Hasbro the game show and the 70s and 80s guess that song.

If you purchase the CHEERS! package, don't forget that the delicious specialty coffee on the fifth floor is INCLUDED!!! We didn't discover that until the 6th day!!

If there are more than two adult size people sharing a room, I would recommend a larger room or two adjoin rooms. Eight days is a long time to be "cooped" up.

We stayed on floor 6 and I loved our location. We simply walked up one flight of steps to go back to our room from the promenade deck at night.

Get up early if you want to use chairs by the pool.Go early to dinner so you can get in there faster.

If you choose anytime dining, waiting 30 minutes is expected, but often it is shorter. On Dress up nights go early to dinner and avoid a long wait. The best thing about waiting for dinner is it is off of the main lobby with great entertainment while you wait.

If you have to get off the ship early for debarkation, the dining buffet is open early or you can order room service. If you purchase the drink package, it includes bottled water so ask for it in the dining room and they will give you a big bottle which you can bring back to your room.
