Review summary

This was our first cruise and was quite an investment for our family of 6. It was worth every penny!! carnival far exceeded my expectations and we can't wait to plan another one!!

Embarkation

This was our first cruise and felt there was little direction when we first boarded. It was beautiful but staff to help first timers would be a valuable tool

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining rooms were exquisite with the greatest service! It was an incredible experience each time we dined!!!! The buffets were overwhelming! I did wish there were more snack areas other then pizza, for example a nacho bar or French fries. Trust me there was plenty of good food!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We loved the trivia games and interactive games like Sorry and Cranium! The kids enjoyed all the outdoor activities while we adults loved the serenity area!!!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The DJ, comedians and the perfomers were top notch!!!! They are all incredibly talented. Some of the shows were a bit odd, but not because of the talent! Dr E is the man!! He knows how to engage every single person

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My 12 & 14 year old LOVED Circle C and the staff was incredible. They made so many friends and had so much fun. My 9 & 11 year old didn't use club Ocean because it was mostly young children there. I do think that the ages 2-11 is a large group and has many different age ranges crammed into one. They had plenty to keep them busy but they had hoped to make friends like their older sisters did

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Big G and Antoine were the greatest wait staff in the Southern Dining room. They knew all of our names and our likes and dislikes by the first meal!!! Stiawan was the greatest bartender!! Ave tans was another incredible mixologist!!! Patrick was our room steward and it was impeccable!! The entire staff was incredibly happy and made this the greatest trip!!!

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an adjoining room which was great for our family of 6! Lots of room and lots of showers!!

Ship tip

I would tell them to do their research because as new cruisers we didn't really know what to do. Luckily we were vacationing with seasoned cruisers who showed us the ropes. Carnival could maybe give a little briefing to first time cruisers

My first cruise was on the Carnival Liberty in 2014, the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas in 2015, then the Norwegian Star last year, and the Carnival Magic in May of this year. It is the best addiction 😊😊

We can't get enough cruising. It really is an addiction. We plan everything ahead to fit a budget. We love to extend the vacation cruise by spending time after at each port city. So far New Orleans has been our favorite Port city.
