Review summary

The only good thing I have to say is that guy's burger joint is great and our cabin steward was wonderful. We book this cruise almost a year in advance and paid extra for an aft balcony room. We arrived much to my surprise the room was not as it was described. There was no couch or chair with a back on it to sit in The bed was very uncomfortable and you not only had to sleep in it you had to sit on it if you wanted to sit unless you sat on the floor so you could lean back on the wall. The balcony was ok. There was only 2 small closets.. The inside state rooms were way bigger with couches and tables etc. plus they had 3 large closets I did like the fact that they have satilite tv now with all three major networks and news from Miami daily You could get internet for $5 a day which was great too for keeping in contact with family through Facebook and messenger. The food was mediocre and you the lido dining half of the stations closed at six so they really are forcing you to go to the main dining room. The ship was small and crowded in the stair cases two people could not even pass unless you were on the one main large staircase in the middle. Pools were tiny and hot tub whirl pools were cold. The adult deck had no pool at all just a cold whirlpool. Another problem is no one on the ship is really helpful with questions and most do not speak good English and do not understand what you are asking. We had not been on carnival for over 15 years and I was assured that this would be a great boat. It was not and believe me we will never ever do carnival again. Please think twice before you book this cruise.

It's a very limited Buffett compared to lunch but there is a pizza place and a deli

I thought the whole lido marketplace was open at dinner. Every ship I've been on it has been open as well as the deli, pizza etc

I just got off the Magic too and also don't have any pictures or previous cruises as it was my first. I enjoyed the cruise and we had a suite so plenty of room. It did very crowded but it was a sold out ship. Most of the staff were lovely but others did struggle to understand basic questions, I assumed it was because I was English and they didn't understand my accent. The evening Buffett in the lido deck was very poor and yes most of the food stations were closed after lunch and only a partial area was open for dinner.

Sounds like you may have never been on a cruise. All staterooms are small.

We also leave on the Magic in September. We've now been on the Sunshine and Valor and have had a wonderful time on each... One thing I will say is we have brought a fan because I have found that the AC just doesn't cut it for my taste....

We had a oceaview room, it was very roomy. Even had a tub. Loved breakfast in the dining room by a window every morning.

@Kimluvs2cruise I've only been crushing for 8 years. I can guarantee these ships are far better than they were 15 years ago. lol Go with the mindset to have fun and you'll be alright.

Did you get an Aft Extended Balcony or just a Balcony in the Aft Part of the ship? What cabin were you in? They have buffet on Lido that starts around 5:30/6 so how did half of the stations close at 6 if that's when dinner began?!?! You have zero previous cruises on your profile so this review is questionable.

We are booked next March in a Cloud 9 spa balcony room on the Magic. Hope it's better by then!
