Clean, well organized, friendly personnel but we arranged our own shore excursions for less money.

Alot of fun!! by ChadS1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Fun cruise, we visited some beautiful sites. I would love to try a cruise where they spend a couple days in each location because it takes the first day to talk with locals and whatnot to decide what the best things to do are. The excursion options given by Carnival are good. However, nothing competes with finding your own shore side trips with local info and guides.

Good time, but watch your receipts by RhyneF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

One night a waitress at one of the bars told us that the drinks were half priced. She also wrote it on the receipt like the were half priced and didn't include a total. At the end we found out that they were not half priced and the cruise line would not do anything about it. I called the service line ad they said they will look over it again and I will find out in 2-4 weeks if they will reduce the charges. It seems like a long time to wait, since one of their staff obviously made a mistake. Otherwise, the ship was the nicest one I've been on in the Carnival fleet. The service in the dinning room and the decks was amazing. I would highly recommend the diving/snorkeling in Honduras.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

THE CARNIVAL LEGEND HAS TO BE THE WORST SHIP I HAVE CRUISED ON. DINNER WADS THE WORST EVER. THE SHOPS WERE AWFUL. THE PORTS IN MEXICO WERE HORRIBLE. IF I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK I WOULD. i HAVE CRUISED IN THE PAST ON OTHER CARNIVAL SHIPS AND HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. JUST VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Beyond Expectations! by CarolS16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Because our husbands will not travel out of the country, my friend, her daughter and I travel each summer to many different countries. However, this year because of time restraints we chose to cruise to the western Carribean on Legends of Carnival. Our trip was beyond our wildest expectations! The weather was perfect, the ship, outstanding, the service, impeccable, the food, scrumptuous and the trip, spectacular!

Cruisin the high seas! by JayG1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is decked out with 3 pools. 1 adult pool was where we did most of our poolside activities. The only bad thing was some "children" (teenagers) were in this pool area at times and there was no enforcement of the "adult only" area. There were plenty of activities to be involved in, or you could do whatever you pleased. A piano bar was one highlight of the entertainment along with nightly comedy shows or dancing routines.

Legend to Western Carribean by MichaelR4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was well kept, great food, shows, entertainment and personnel. All shore excursions we took were perfect. The snorkling in the Grand Caymans was great and the Dolphines in Roatan were very friendly along with the staff. A highlight of the Excursions in Belize was the Trip on the River Wallace. We, also met some great people who we are keeping in contact with for a future cruise.

Okay for the price by TomM8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were looking for a fairly cheap cruise. Did not want to fly to Puerto Rico We chose this cruise pretty much as it was the only line doing 7 day Western carribean cruises out of the continental US within driving distance from Nashville, and the price was fairly low. Did not want to spend a fortune on Disney. The ship was overall in good condition. Stateroom was in good repair. The decorating was a little over the top, but that made it interesting. The stateroom was kept clean and the beds were reasonably comfortable. Towel animals in the room each night. We had a balcony with two chairs. The chairs are very narrow, not comfortable to cram ones hips into. Made for very thin people at best. The deck had more sunchairs than any other ship I have been on, but they were not comfortable. Many were broken. The pool decks had so many sun chairs around the pools it was almost impossible to walk between them. The food was plentiful. During breakfast and lunch it could be very hard to find an open table in the buffet area. IT appears very few people eat in the dining rooms for those meals. Service was friendly. Not quite as attentive as on other lines, but no real problems. The waiters were friendly and entertaining. They were willing to tell us places to visit on shore excursions without referring us to the excursion desk to purchase excursions. This worked out pretty well for us and saved us some $$$$.

A Wonderful Cruise by Don2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship's entertainment was non-stop. I felt very well-informed. The dining staff was very thorough except for a couple of workers on the last 2 nights. My husband and I were so spoiled we did not want to return to "reality." We would travel with Carnival again and plan to book with . Even though our itinerary changed, I was able to get details before my trip with and carnival. Thank you for a great trip.

Overall, Great Cruise by VeronicaH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My boyfriend and I weren't sure what to expect on our Carnival cruise but overall, we were very pleased with our trip. We booked the least expensive room on board and were expecting to sleep in a tuna-can. Our room was both larger and nicer than we had expected and we even had a window. Daylight! One of the best parts of the cruise was the service. Our stateroom steward was very attentive and helpful. The food staff was friendly and prompt. The cruise director was informative and enthusiastic. The entertainment (musicians, performers, etc) were all extremely talented! The food on board was killer. The lunch buffet was really top notch food. No Old Country Buffet-type food here. Anything from Indian, to Asian to Italian to French. The dining room food was equally good and the 'nice restaurant' on board that you pay a bit extra to eat at was out of this world. Definitely worth the extra $30 per person for the five courses. The food was more like edible art. There is some down time during the 'days at sea' but you definitely won't be bored. There are TONS of activities every day. From comedy shows, to tons of live music. One complaint I would have is that some of the activities are extra (ie: pilates, bingo, etc) so that is a con. Some of the activities are a bit cheesy (ice scupture demonstrations, some of the shows) but it's all in good fun and if you go into it knowing it may be a tad cheesy you'll have a good time. One big complaint I had on board was that I always felt like somebody was trying to sell me something. The photographers on board are extremely annoying and ask you 100 times if you want a picture taken in front of a tacky background. Also, the drink waiters are a bit pushy trying to sell you the 'specialty drink' of the day. I felt like every minute I was being reminded of the "$20 bingo going on" or the "duty free liquor" or "all the great shopping with Diamonds International at the ports." On a side note, I am pretty certain that Carnival owns Diamonds International because they advertise the crap out of those stores. Honestly, if I never have to hear about Diamonds International again, it will be too soon! The Carnival people make it seem like the shopping at the ports is SO amazing, but it really wasn't at all. Drinks are obviously not free and you are warned from Carnival not to take alcohol on board. I will just say that you CAN, in fact, take alcohol on board if you are smart. You can also get alcohol at the port stops if you are smart. Drinks add up fast on board so check your bill throughout the trip (you can check it on your tv) to make sure you aren't spending a fortune. I will say that there is a liquor tasting that is free that you should definitely check out! Also, when you get on board the boat you won't have your luggage for a few hours so make sure you take a small bag with you for a bathing suit and change of clothes, because you'll definitely want to hit the pool when you get on board the ship. We stopped in Cayman Islands, Belize and the Island of Roatan on our trip. Belize was a total dump. And that is coming from someone who took a pretty extensive tour and saw a lot of extreme poverty. I would avoid cruises that stop in Belize. We went snorkeling with sting rays in Cayman Islands with a Carnival excursion and had a blast. In Belize we saw Mayan ruins with a non Carnival excursion to save money, and while we had a great time it definitely wasn't as organized as Carnival. At the Island of Roatan we didn't book any excursions cause the main thing to do is the beach which is public. So, anybody can go without being in an excursion (ie; why pay $35 to simply be transported to a beach?). However, be warned that the taxis are EXPENSIVE and per person, rather than per taxi. We booked jet-skiing and it included transportation to the beach. Overall, the cruise was a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend Carnival.

Another great cruise with Carnival by FrancisE

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

From the booking with Cruise Only and all the help Felicia Nider was, from getting all of us close with our cabins to the final walk off ship in Tampa it was better than I remember any other cruise. The balconey was fabulous what a way to start the day. There isn't enough I can say about Carnival, the food was great the ship was spotless. But the big thing is how good thay have gotten moving people. When we arrived in Belize it sounded like it would a long time getting everyone off the ship (less than one half hour) and we were walking the street. Back in Tampa wow it was no more than 15 minutes to clear customs and get our luggage. And we were not the first in line by a long shot. Thanks again Cruise Only and Carnival see you both in the fall for a Transatlantic Francis Eliason

forgettable cruise by GaryK6

Crew were nice. Very loud in public areas and balcony doors would slam (unless held) and could be heard several cabins away. Food was the worse we've ever experienced on a cruise.

Caribbean cruise by MichaelJ10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We don't usually go on cruises so take my comments for what they are. We prefer to longer at locations and enjoy the people, their culture and food. We needed a place to stay for a week so this cruise worked out perfectly. We thought the staff on the ship was excellent, all of them were very nice and accommodating. The food in general was just OK but keep in mind that we live in Las Vegas so our perspective is not always the same as others might be. We did very much enjoy the supper club we thought it well worth the additional fee. We thought it was silly to miss our stop in Mexico. The port was several hundred miles from any flu outbreak in Mexico city. Yet we stopped in Belize a very short distance away neither port has any problems with the flu. We did enjoy the sting rays in the Caymans, and the zoo in Belize. We would have gone for a scuba dive but felt the ships prices were way out of line. We were not terribly excited about Honduras. In general the entertainment on board was good. Most of it was based around comedy acts. However, the best production was the second night when the ships dancers put on a show. This was probably a cost cutting measure that maybe necessary for the cruise line to stay in business. Overall we enjoyed the cruise. It wasn't the trip of a life time for us but then again we travel to some incredible locations.
