Great Cruise by Fk1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship and crew were freindly and curtous. The food was excellent. The ship was beautful. The only area lacking would be in the smoking section. Just too many areas for smokers. They should have at least one bar or lounge nnon-smoking.

Fun Fun Fun! by StephanieR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

For the ship being older it was wonderful. I wasn't expecting much being a carnival but we loved it. The activites were great and plenty of space for adults only. On the other hand the food was not so hot (and im not a picky eater at all). Also, the food sections closed early almost every day.

a wonderful cruise with my best friend. by MarionK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

i've been on many ships and the Glory is a little difficult to get around on. by the time we felt comfortable it was time to leave. we did go to the steakhouse The Emerald Room. that was a wonderful experience. service was excellent and the food was to die for. Carnival has either up-graded their food or the Glory is exceptional. All meals were much better than I remember on past carnival ships. my friend agreed with me. the decor in the amber palace is too busy for my taste. the color scheme is disturbing.

Anniversary Cruise with Sister /Parents by CarolA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall I thought the ship was great. The outside movie theatre was nice and would probably be more enjoyable on nights after arriving in the warmer climates. The food was really great, never ate anything that was not a treat for the tastebuds. Staff was so friendly and fun. Lots of things to do on the ship.

Lots of fun on the Glory! by PamT1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first cruise. The service of both the stewards and the wait staff was incredible. Also, the hostess went out of her way to accomodate my food allergy by going over the menu each day with me for that evening's meal. She even let the Steak House know about it when we were dining up there. Speaking of the steak house, the steaks did not have a great flavor. The appetizers, service and desserts at the Steak House were awesome. The length of stay in Nassau seemed kind of long (2 days). Another day at sea would have been nice. The comedians were great. The shows were ok. We had a technical difficulty during "Justin Illusion" that was never explained. The debarkation process, was very, very slow. We assume that it was Customs that caused the delay. We were supposed to depart at 0945 and didn't until 1145. Gary, our cruise director was also great. He took his family on our snorkeling excursion, and seemed to have a great time there!

The ship is beautiful. Not Carnival's newest ship, but still shows well.

Had a great time by ChristinaC2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We liked the ship overall. It was nice and for the most part didn't seem overly crowded. There were several whirlpools, enough for all the guests. The only drawback was that the whirlpools and regular pools were closed in the evenings. One of our favorite areas was called the Serenity and was an adults-only area. It was fitted with many chairs with cushions and was away from all the noise and hustle and bustle of the rest of the ship. We liked it so much that we spent at least 3 of our days up in that area. My overall complaint through most of the trip though was that the ship was kept too cold. When almost every woman in the main entrainment lounge is wearing hoodie sweaters over their formal wear, you know the ship is too cold. We also talked with several other guests that shared our sentiments about the temperature on the ship. One other negative: We wanted to play shuffleboard at 5:30 one evening and found out that they stop renting equipment at 5:00 p.m. We felt that was unreasonable. It wasn't even dark out yet!

So-so crusie by BillP8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Ship was just OK. Nothing was outstanding. Crew was very nice and attentive. Evening entertainment was generally not to my liking....went to only one full show, and that was not too enjoyable. Health club windows were such that you could only look down. Overall, a bit disapointed with the overall experience!

Worst cruise ever for us by NathanS16062150

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Until at least 92 people had contracted a virus or food poison symptoms, very scarce supply of sanitizer bottles & no instructions on TV or otherwise about food handling or hand cleansing. Until then, employees in food dispensing wore no gloves, & guests were allowed to serve themselves without first cleaning their hands. Food tables on the ninth floor were seldom cleared, never cleansed with even soapy water, & guests were shown the same safety in hygiene as you would expect in a poorly run state prison. My wife & I each celebrating our respective birthdays in our cabin with fever, chills, diahhrea & vomitting. Her sickness began 2 hours after dinner in the touted Emerald Steak House,& mine 2 days later. Also, dirty linens & towels were allowed to remain in the hallways for hours throughout the cruise. This was our 14th cruise, & the 1st time for us to complain.

Great time by CatherineM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The ship seemed to have some wear and tear on it. There was rust on it at places, the deck boards looked quite worn and splittered. Our cabin window creeked and popped alot and screws were missing in it. Facility seemed to cleaned ok, but nothing fantastic or wonderful. Dusty on wood work.

great ship, clean, easy to find location by HeikoL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

I traveled on six cruises before, this one with Carnival, must say, a fast exit of the ship, we had our luggage with us, this made it easier to get off.The crew was always friendly, the one's serving us in the restaurant went out of their way to please us. The shows brought smiles on our faces, except one, which was more for the younger generation, 40 years and younger the words in their songs about drugs and killings, did not fit in, with passengers, about 80% over 50 years and older. We came early to the terminal and did not have to wait too long a big plus.

A Road Trip without the Road by MaiaT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

This was our first cruise, in our minds it was a road trip without maps, drive times, and endless miles of I95 traffic. In many ways it was just that. While our balcony room was lovely the rest of the ship was like a quick stop at an Atlantic City casino hotel. If you love over-blown disco design, a multiplicity of textures and colors, and constant noise, then the Carnival Glory is the ship for you! The food fit our road trip expectations-- like the restaurants you go to when traveling, every once in a while you hit excellent, most meals were good, some were fair. Quantity was stressed over quality. And just like at a roadside diner, breakfasts were the best! Something to keep in mind when touring the East Coast by large boat: the harbors have to be big enough to hold the ship. This means that overall this is a very urban experience. We sailed at night (and there was dense fog the whole trip) so we saw little of the coast line. No whales for us! We enjoyed the museums and restaurants in port and can highly recommend the Boston Aquarium if you want to see the wild life. Overall, we had a great time. In order to have that great time, we had to manipulate the experience to suit our needs. We found the quiet spots on the boat, didn't go to the dining room since our reservation was at a time we didn't enjoy, and supplemented the dining choices by finding wonderful local restaurants in each port of call. We laughed about the excessive loudspeaker announcements encouraging us to spend money (and the lack of announcements about where to disembark). We amused ourselves planning our perfect cruise-- the star watching deck, the whale migration patterns posted for all to see, and the greenhouses for fresh veggies. Would we recommend this cruise? To those who have either a sense of humor or love of kitsch, yes. To those who need things to fit their definition of perfect or need serenity, no. Also important to note that despite Carnival claiming to have gluten free options, they really don't understand what gluten free means. They were very willing to serve us rice pasta at every meal but could not tell us the ingredients in other dishes. The gluten free french toast and pancakes were pretty rubbery and gross. Better to pick through the regular options and eat what you can than tell them you are gluten free.

Great cruise & itinerary. by MaryanneZ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We cruised on the Carnival Glory to Canada/New England. While I believe this is an older ship, it's obviously been refurbished and is extremely clean and well maintained. The staff were unfailingly courteous and attentive, the food was excellent, and we were very pleased with the itinerary. We found each of the ports to be great places to visit - lots to see and do, beautiful cities, and great places to eat and shop at all.
