A good cruise by EmilyM4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We have cruised several different cruise lines. This was our first time on Carnival. The ship needs to have more activities for days at sea. The buffet lines were okay but we have had better on other lines. That being said we took Carnival this time because it was less expensive. You get what you pay for. Had I not sailed on other lines I probably would not have expected so much. There was nothing wrong in general just not as good as what we have done before.

Great Itinerary but Food Subpar by DonL3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife and I had a great time but the food was below average in that it was dry, cold, and tasted like leftovers. Excursions were great and entertainment was extremely fun. Some employees were not very friendly and looked tired and bored most of the time.

Defintely for the Lazy Traveller! by TheresaS1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was just one big infomercial for money! The excursions were expensive and not worth the money given the short amount of time in ports. The cruise line had you so concerned about arriving back in time, that you didn't want to hire an excursion outside of the line, although they would have been cheaper and possibly better. If you don't mind being herded with masses of people and standing in line for the buffets while clearly overweight people overfill their plates as if they have never eaten before, then the cruise life is for you. This was our first cruise and we will not repeat this again. We were sadly disappointed. The service was mediocre and certain activities were very disorganized. Since tips were included in the daily rate, we were not inclined to tip further, although every time you turned around, you were asked for tips, either by the Cruise line bus drivers, guides, or waitstaff. The ludicrous thing is they were all employed by the Cruise line. Do they not receive the tips already arranged? Perhaps if this system was not in place, they would work harder and be more responsive in order to earn their tips. In that case, we would have then tipped at a 20% amount.

First-time Cruising by JonathanP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First time cruising so did not really know what to expect. Given the price paid and recognising that there were around 3000 guests then what was provided was done well, This ship was well run, clean, with friendly and helpfull staff but they do need to enforce their own rules - dress code in particular. I found it off-putting that I had to stand in line for breakfast with some large individual wearing only a bathing suit despite dress codes rules. The food was good considering the price paid.

A First Timer Great Experience by GinaG2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I didn't know what to expect being my first cruise. It was only me and my 15 year old daughter. This was an extremely organized event and before I could ask any questions, the staff was there to explain everything.

Great experience by ShutingS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Maybe because it is my first time for cruise.....but ....Everything is perfect! I cannot describe how I love this trip. The best vacation ever! I mean it. Most importantly, as a super super neat freak, I feel really comfortable in my room because they clean for you more than 3 times a day! We got really lucky to get a promotion deal and thanks to we got a really low price. Except that I lost my clothes in public laundry...But I got insurance...still processing...And I suggest everyone to buy insurance for the trip.

A disappointing vacation. by RianL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I would not recommend this cruise. A port was cancelled and shore excursions were cancelled. Disembarking was incredibly chaotic and poorly organized. The food was terrible.

First Cruise, Best Cruise by Adrian

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Overall, it felt like an older ship due to the decor. The dinners in the dining room were delicious. The staff was friendly. There were plenty of activities throughout the day.

Loved it - not long enough by MargaretA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Loved the dining room staff. The cruise ship was always clean, every where. Food was very good, sometimes great. I had a small issue with the shower head not staying in place, and it was fixed within 5 minutes of telling staff. Absolutely loved our room steward.

Only average cruise by JustineF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Not as thrilled as I have been on previous cruises. Very short stops on our islands. Hardly any time to actually do anything. Water was really rough, think we will stick to the western Caribbean and stay out of the Atlantic. Room steward never introduced himself. Surly waitstaff in breakfast.

Caribbean Fun by MarkA5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very well maintained, I liked the theme, where do they get these great ideas from? Also the the secluded section of the outdoor deck area for adults only was nice to be able to find a quiet spot.

Disappointed with Carnival by WilmaB1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group

Ship itself was OK .Poor service in dining room from table waiter. Rowdy youths with no consideration for others were climbing along the railings of our friends balcony and spitting on the balcony.

Our Glory Cruise by Tracyg11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We sailed with Carnival for the first time and have cruised before on Norweigan. We kept comparing them to each other. We like the overall Ship on Carnival better, the size was great, the shows were great, the buffets for breakfast and lunch were ok. The main dinner was much better on Norweigan, we did no have the friendliest waiter, the food was not that great, we chose to eat buffet the last evening meal so we did not have to deal with the wait staff in the main dining room. We wished we had been able to stop in Belize instead of Costa Maya which was kind of boring, Cozumel was ok, Grand Cayman was good and Mahogney Bay was the best and we would go back there. The staff was overall friendly, but felt they could have been a little more friendly.

Very Good itinerary by DarcyM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was fairly well maintained but "dark, dark, dark." Gaudy decor. The service was excellent (outside of American staff on Pride of Hawaii - Norwegian), we have had excellent service on all of the cruise lines we've traveled. The staff knock themselves out to care for their passengers. We're just not "Carnival" people.
