This was just one big infomercial for money! The excursions were expensive and not worth the money given the short amount of time in ports. The cruise line had you so concerned about arriving back in time, that you didn't want to hire an excursion outside of the line, although they would have been cheaper and possibly better. If you don't mind being herded with masses of people and standing in line for the buffets while clearly overweight people overfill their plates as if they have never eaten before, then the cruise life is for you. This was our first cruise and we will not repeat this again. We were sadly disappointed. The service was mediocre and certain activities were very disorganized. Since tips were included in the daily rate, we were not inclined to tip further, although every time you turned around, you were asked for tips, either by the Cruise line bus drivers, guides, or waitstaff. The ludicrous thing is they were all employed by the Cruise line. Do they not receive the tips already arranged? Perhaps if this system was not in place, they would work harder and be more responsive in order to earn their tips. In that case, we would have then tipped at a 20% amount.

Food and Dining

We didn't find anything to write home about on the food. It was mediocre at best. There was a complete lack of exotic fruit, i.e., pineapple, kiwi, strawberries, etc. Also the seadfood was negligible. Very disappointed. this was a cheap way to feed thousands and most days the food was not hot and not cold when it was supposed to be.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Some of the waitstaff we met, clearly enjoyed their jobs. Some others did not and were not responsive to needs. We are not demanding people but expect good service for the amount of money that was paid for this trip. We did not meet anyone who went above and beyond. In fact, we had 2 instances that we had very rude service.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This seemed to be an older ship and is in clear need of a facelift with carpeting, artwork, etc.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We had an aft cabin with an oversized balcony. There were 3 of us (2 adults and a teenager) and not enough room to store our luggage. Because of a larger balcony, the room size suffered which was not made clear when we booked, so we walked over each other when getting ready for dinners etc.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Their lackluster food, being forced to buy expensive excursions from the Cruise line and the disorganization

Recommends Carnival Glory? No.
