First 7-day cruise by KDS42

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first 7-day cruise.  I usually cruise for 5 days and am left feeling like I could go another day or two...well...now that I've done it, I will stick with 5.  Not that this was a bad cruise, I actually enjoyed myself and the ports visited.  It was just too long for my tastes.  Towards the end, I felt like entertainment/activities started to repeat themselves and I wasn't left with many options.

Great Carnival vacation by loosescrew51

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time overall. Thanks to the wonderful staff it was an enjoyable cruise. Our group consisted of approx. 15 or more people as it was our family vacation. we wore our family tees shirts that stated "  Oh ship! My krazy fmily is on board! We participated in the captain's dinner which was fabulous, the lip synch contest, the hairy chest contest,  the appreciation for the military of which included three of our family members, and the steak house where I had the best New York steak I've ever eaten. We went to the comedy club almost every night and enjoyed the activities during the day. Each time we left our room we would return only to find it spotless by our steward. Everyone was very pleasant and always greeted and smiled at us as they went about their chores. Thanks to the kitchen staff for sending a piece of birthday cake and the ship for sending a spa and gift card for my birthday. We plan to join you again next year for our next family vacation. You're the best!

Obvious Cut Backs in Food and Service by enjoy777

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The best part of the cruise was getting off.  The islands were gorgeous and spectacular. The ship was another story.  I have cruised Carnival in the past and always have a balcony. This time the service and food choices were very very poor.  The buffet was limited and the quality was below standard.  The highlight was the burgers which were offered daily. Housekeeping has also declined.  The halls were filled with trays, used glasses in lobby.  A few times our room service trays were left in the room after it was "cleaned".  Overall  - Islands were amazing! Ship service, cleanliness and food was not.

Beautiful experience but issue with disembarkation process by dhanunjayagupta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Hi Team,

It was a nice experience on the Carnival Cruise. The cruise steward and members were friendly. The serenity area and pool side movies are great and the food is good. Even though I am vegetarian but I did not had to struggle for food. The best was the Indian Vegetarian food in Dinner. The only issue during the complete cruise was - I had suite room and I was told that I had priority boarding and debarkation. I was giving priority boarding but NOT priority dis-embarkation. I was DISAPPOINTED with that as something that was committed and for which I had paid for was not given to me.

Thanks

Dhanunjaya

it was ok by ladybuglady1962

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my 3rd cruise,2nd carnival one. Best place for lunch was Guys burgers!!

The food in the dining rooms were ok, very chilly in there so bring a sweater.

Getting on and off was terrible so bring some patience with you. Staff was wonderful very helpful. We loved the private island Half moon Cay..great lunch the put on for us,beautiful beach.

St Thomas was our favorite great shopping especially for jewerlry but the jewelry store employees are relentless on selling so be firm when you say no.

Grand Turk was my least favorite

San juan was ok a lot of walking and then of course it rained half the day on us walking around. Best place to go and have something different was Choco Bar

Absolutely amazing we had a grill chesse with choc in it..i know sounds gross

but was amazing with melted choc to dip it  in.

Over all it was a good cruise.. nice to relax and do nothing.

Fun Times by morganaubree

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I had alot of fun! the Drink package made the cruise a lot more fun! There was tons to do on the boat and off! The only thing for me was that at Half Moon Cay an island owned by Carnival the drink package does not work and that makes no sense to me unless carnival is just looking to get money where ever they can. but the rest of the cruise was a bunch of fun

Would have given 5 stars but... by leslie519

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had 4 staterooms in total. There were 14 of us  (all family). We had a pretty great time with the exception of my younger sister and her 2 children. Carnival chose room 2464 for her which was all the way in the back. The bedding accommodations were terrible for a 3 year old, a six year old and a senior citizen. AC was not working. Room was loud and vibrated so bad kids were sea sick all 7 nights. My nephew (3) was terrified to go in the room, he was miserable. They all were in room 2464. This made it really hard for the rest of us to enjoy ourselves. I really wish Carnival would have offered a room change, if nine available a free upgrade for the sake of the kids.

Great cruise. AndI and carolina in the effy shop were amazing. Our waiters Chandra and jimmy couldn't have been better. Beny our steward also went above and beyond. We celebrated a birthday and they made it truly special. I was disappointed the up charge $20 per entre for steak and lobster...didn't seem right.ship was clean and in good repair. Ran into a few employees who were "surly" but overall a great experience.

Great experience for first-timers by zipirovich

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our family's first cruise, and it exceeded our expectations. We liked the food, the service, the entertainment, the itinerary -- pretty much everything. There were a few smaller things that we didn't like, such as constant nagging to spend more money, or that the beach on Grand Turk was too noisy, or the Cruise Director's jokes below the waist, but overall we definitely enjoyed it greatly.

Great people, great ship, great excursions and beautiful destinations.  The only thing I would change would be the hours of the Deli and Taco bar; they close too early.  Otherwise, no other complaints!

DJ DBiz is not DBIZ by btpayne12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Being on the cruise with our family to celebrate several birthdays and a college graduation. The DJ was rude and obnoxious to the passengers making request. He even went as far as to clear the floor by playing music from the 60's and 70's. Many nights we brought our Bose speaker to the deck outside and had our own party.

The new Carnival Hun app was wonderful. Looking forward to a few minor improvements but over all, it serves it's purpose. No more need for walkie talkies.

The disembarking process at the end of the cruise was the worse I have experienced in all the cruises I've been on. It was a safety hazard waiting to happen. There were gaps in communication on what the process was and it wasn't clear that they wanted everyone out of their rooms by 830am.

I I would have given it at least a 3 but since we went on Carnival specifically to have a great time and party and the DJ was so awful, I had to downgrade it to a 2. Sorry Carnival... Lots of opportunities on this one.

Eastern Caribbean 2016 by jamieopheim

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

if you are a sun worshiper and beach goddess, this is absolutely your cruise.

Our Steward and our Food Service staff was awesome.

Some communication breakdowns between and Carnival caused some disappointment but overall it was great.

We took the Outback Safari Tour in Amber Cove, Dominican Republic.  Our tour guides, Manny & Jose, were the best !!  Allowed us to discover the culture, economics, education system, etc.  Our favorite excursion by far.

horror show by kay3084

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship has seen better days.It needs to be refurbished. The entertainment was terrible. The food was fair. The debarkation was a horror show. My sister missed her flight, which was at 1:15. That is unacceptable.

Overall, good by scottcarter914

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Loved the food, service and destinations. Definitely do excursions! We did different tours and a waterfall hike. On-cruise entertainment was ok. Stupid fee at the end for over $150 that I needed to take care of. I got sea sick as well (even with medicine), so be sure to take plenty during the voyage.

Nice Itinerary! by addieshort

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I was pleased to be able to visit the ports of call on this itinerary. We went to Half Moon Cay, St Thomas, Puerto Rico and Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic. We especially liked the all inclusive package in Amber Cove at the Serenity resort.  We recommend this excursion.  We were also pleasantly surprised that Carnival has changed their rates for the Internet service offered on board.  The price is good and the internet connection was much improved - way to go Carnival!
