The best way to spend a week by LizY

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My steward, and the rest of the service crew were the hightlights of the cruise. The level of cleanliness was impeccable. I preferrred the grand buffet to the dining room experiance for a variety of reasons including choice and relaxed style. All food was high quality and attractively served. The only negative aspect we experianced was lack of information and direction as to how to find the people in charge of the individual shore excursions. As first time cruisers, we would have appreciated a litle moore guidence as to what to expect when we got off the ship at the various ports.

This was my first time ever going on a cruise. All I have to say i WOW! I had a really good time and the places we stopped at was so beautiful. The food was excellent and the dining room staff was great. My Head waiter at Dinner was Leonardo and he was awesome. He got anything I needed and was very friendly. The shows in the Amber Palace were great. it was very exciting to see what was going oo everyday. I had a really relaxing time and enjoyed every minute of it.

Glory Glory Be! by PamN3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This is our 16th cruise, 13 of them on Carnival, and the 2nd time on Glory. The treatment we receive from Carnival as past guests over 10 cruises, is awesome, special treats, gifts, bar or photo credits, not to mention we were escorted off the ship first upon return to Port Canaveral, leavin at 7:30 Am, while others traveling with us had to wait 3 - 4 hrs! Booking on a guarantee thru Cruises Only, we also got a phenomenal upgrade from lowest inside cabin to an outside cabin up 2 categories! The only thing about the room was that it was across the hall from the crew area where we heard dishes clanging all hours, and above us was a promenade deck, where there was constant noise. But, all in all, it was a fantastic cruise. The dining room accommodated our group of 13 in one table, which was great. And we had a waiter who we had met on a previous cruise 5 years ago! He was fantastic (Mario Escobar, from Guatemala). We recommend Carnival and Cruises Only to everyone. See you next cruise!

Average cruise by BillF8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Our first cruise on Carnival and probably our last. Service is haphazard at the best times and non-existant at others. Entertainment was not up to standards of other cruise lines either. And it wasn't even that cheap since it was a spring break week.

Glad we took this Cruise! by BillS24

This is a beautiful ship, balcony stateroom was well worth it. All of the crew that we interacted with were great and were going out there way to see that they exceeded our expectations.

WE LOVED THE SHIP. THE ONLY THING THAT WAS A LITTLE CONFUSING WAS THE WAY TO THE PLATINUM DINING ROOM FOR BREAKFAST AND LUNCH.

Excellent but! by CarolO4

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great cruise; all crew members were friendly and ship is very attractive. Room with balcony was spacious, cleaned 2x a day. Bed was soooo comfortable! Shore excursion for catamaran & snorkeling in Costa Maya was worth every penny, Tulum was great, shore excursion for snuba in Belize was not worth it ( too many people on boat in small area to snorkel and snuba; we paid $40 more for same experience). Amber Theatre had terrific shows every night; bingo not worth it, prizes too small for # playing each time, too cold in the theater. Food excellent; stay on the dinner spa menu and don't gain weight! Delicious choices.

An Interesting Cruise by LindseyJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The boat is beautiful. I recommend getting the highest level room possible. If not, by the second day your room smells like a sewer. Other than that the staff was fun and very delightful. I highly recommend spending the extra $30 and eating at the Saphire Club. That was the best experience that I had on the boat. I brought my 11 month old and they were very accomodating to the baby and offered babysitting if we needed a Mommy/Daddy break.

I just went on a Carnival cruise 2 months ago on Imagination and I like it lot better than this one. There was barely any room by the pool area. But the rooms and food were good.

A Memorable Vacation by JessicaA2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our vacation above the Carnival Glory was very memorable. It was the first time that I traveled with such a large group of friends (there were 8 of us). I am an experienced cruiser but it was the first cruise for 5 of us from the group. It was amazing to share their first time cruise experience with them. We enjoyed ourselves whether it was sleeping in late in the comfortable beds, laying out on the top deck, going to shows in the Amber Palace, or eating at the Lido Restaurant buffet. There was always plenty of food to eat. The itinerary aboard the Glory was also memorable. Cozumel and Costa Maya had the bluest water I've ever seen. We went cave tubing in Belize (something we will never get to experience again). My group enjoyed our cruise so much that we still can't stop thinking about it and wishing that we were still on the ship right now.

First Time Cruisers by SuzanneB7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We loved our cruise....it was wonderful...the crew and staff were exceptional...The crews director, Wee Jimmy, was a blast! The activities crew made sure everyone had a great time....Natasha and Jarad at the Carnival Vacation Club desk were wonderful...if you plan to cruise again you need to ckeck out what Carnival has to offer there...exceptional values.....there is no obligation and no pressure applied to get you to sign on to their package....if you love the water try for a balcony room...it was super...I loved just standing out there watching the sunrises/sunsets and the water....or just simply watch from one of the open decks.... be sure to pick up a deck plan at the pursor's desk it will help to famliarize you with the ship....and be sure to read your "Capors" flyer...one is put in your cabin every evening...it lets you know of all the activities for the next day that will be going on to help plan out your day...be sure to get a fountain fun card if you plan on drinking sodas or bottled water as they are not included in the cruise....and book your excursions early so that you get the time you would like to go....and first time cruisers be sure to attend the debarkation talk..will help you understand the process of leaving the ship to return home..customs...etc...the food was wonderful, in the main dining room as well as the buffets and casual dining available on the lido deck....we did not travel with children bue we did check out "Camp Carnival" Lots of activities for the children and they do give pagers to the parents so that you can be reached at any time....they also have an awesome video game room as well...be sure to check out the duty free shopping available on the ship...excellant prices...we took tons of pics with the photographers on board and you are under no obligation to purchase so take as many as you like and choose from there...and be sure and try out different entrees offered...if you don't like them or aren't satisfied...they will bring you something else to your liking...and be sure to visit the late night dining available 11:30 pm-01:30 am...pizza cheeseburgers, hotdogs and fries....if you plan on relaxing on the deck..enjoying the sun be sure to get to the lido deck early...the lounge chairs are plentiful but they go fast! Be sure and reserve a video of your cruise at the excursion desk...we have watched ours a few times allready... We loved our first cruise and will be taking another one with carnival in the future.

Don't book a cabin under the Lido Deck! by ScottG8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was nice but cleanliness could be improved substantially. The process for getting guests on and off the ship has much to be desired. The kids councelors were wonderful. There are cabins under the Lido Deck where all dining and late night activities take place all day and night that should NOT be sold to guests with warning, We paid top dollar for our cabins and were awakened daily @ 6:00AM for the breakfast crowd and not able to go the sleep until after 1:00AM due to the Midnight buffet crowd. We went to see the Purser and she offered us ear plugs which at first I thought was just a joke, I am not talking about faint undecernable noise above us but loud, continous chair dragging scraping noise, we could hear voices through the deck. The Lido Deck is also wider than our deck so it hung over us blocking our very expensive view. I believe the Travel Agent shouild have warned us about this and we will be seeking some type of compensation,
