Average cruise

Sail Date: March 31, 2007

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Our first cruise on Carnival and probably our last. Service is haphazard at the best times and non-existant at others. Entertainment was not up to standards of other cruise lines either. And it wasn't even that cheap since it was a spring break week.

Pros: Nice ship

Cons: Service

Recommends Carnival Glory? No.

Singers and dancers were not very good. Think high school musical quality.
Ship Quality
Platinum dining room is hard to get to from the forward part of the ship. You have to go through the men's or women's changing rooms to get into the fitness center.
Food and Dining
Food was good, but not special. Lots and lots of beef in the main dining room. Open seating breakfast and lunch are nice. Good variety on the buffet.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our oceanview stateroom was on Deck 9 facing toward the bow. View is partially obstructed by a railing. Because it is away from the elevators, there is little traffic in the corridor. It was also a handicapped room so there was a very large bathroom with a walk-in shower. This stateroom was much larger than the normal oceanview cabins.
Service and Staff
Dining room wait staff were unable to keep up when everyone showed up on the same evening. On two occasions it took 45 minutes after ordering for starters to show up and 2 hours in total to finish the meal.
Nassau, Bahamas
Skip downtown and head for Paradise Island.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Take an island tour ($25 per person) for the views of the city and Magen's Bay. Good shopping downtown.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Take a taxi ($7/person one way) over to Marigot on the French side for shopping and lunch. There are several waterfront restaurants at the marina.
