I would highly recommend sailing on the carnival elation. The cruise director Kevin is so funny and nice. Not one person on the boat just walked past and ignored you. Everyone stopped to see/play with the baby and high five the kids. They definitely hired the sweetest people you will ever meet!

Don't plan on using the Library after 1, and if you want to eat in a decent time for dinner eat on the lido deck

Have patience during the boarding process (security). Checking in after the security fiasco was fast and painless. One complaint....children are not allowed in the hot tubs, but yet they were in there. That is dangerous for them and adults should not have to deal with this.

My best advice is to read your Fun Times every night and plan the next days adventures. The more you interact and do, the better the cruise experience is!

Definitely bring some motion sickness medicine. I took MotionEaze oil and put it behind by ears each day and felt much better. Since it is kind of a smaller ship, you feel the rock of the boat a lot more.

Invest in Faster To The Fun!!! You only need to purchase one per cabin. It is soooo worth it. It made disembarkation go SO FAST. We got into port before 8 am. The FTTF people, got to leave the ship first. We had an early flight (11:10) from JAX International. We also had a rental car to turn in before making our flight. We were very worried we were not going to make it in time. Our travel agent had booked it that way. However, I kid you not, we were at the airport, turned in rental car, through security and waiting at our gate by 9:15!!!!!!! Having FTTF also made embarkation a breeze. I wouldn't have believed it had I not experienced it myself! Make sure you have extra money in your account. Stuff is very expensive, which I already knew, and was glad that I had a bit of a windfall sitting in my account at home. My spending with 2 adults and a fairly frugal 14 year old would have broken my budget otherwise.

DON'T DO IT. I talked with alot of people who said other bigger ships are better. My husband and i had trouble with every part of the cruise even sleeping as we both wear cpaps and no plugs by the bed. I mean come on. Electric outlet by the bed is common sense.

Don’t expect your cruise to be as fun as your previous Carnival cruises. The cruise director is extremely dry. You have to create your own fun.
