Review summary

Not sure I would sail with Carnival again. The ships food left something to be desired!

Embarkation

Embarkation as Suite Guests was quick...the regular line looked longer than the airport!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Not impressed with any of the food. The main dining room had beautiful looking plates but nothing really tasted fabulous. Buffet was just ok. Probably best thing I ate on the ship was a burger at Guys and the homemade fries!

Tiffany's Lido Restaurant

Lots of variety but not much flavor.

Best service from Bagus, in the casino bar. He made a great drink, always remembered your name and what you drank!

We just cruised the Elation (7-15 April ‘17) and we enjoyed every meal. Just shows how different we all are...

I would agree that a cruise is NOT a food critics best vacation. Yet I live every normal day at Applebys, What A Burger, Buffalo Wild Wings, and home cooking...enjoy it for what it is, understand it for what it is (some ships feed 2500+ per meal). I have NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL, and sometimes a great meal, even from the side kitchens...enjoy your vacation, nothing expected, no disappointments, save indulgence for home...

I will be honest, i think carnival had better food in the mdr a few years ago. I do really like guy's and the steakhouse is a must.

Jacksonville has one ship. I would not judge the entire fleet by one port. If you try one of their newer ships might have more fun.
