Don't do it unless you want the Walmart of cruises.... Drive an additional two hours and get a good selection of cruises out of Cape Canaveral

I have been cruising since 1998 and have only cruised with Carnival.  I like Carnival, but some ships just need to be put in dry dock to either retire the ship or at least give it a major make over.  If you are thinking about cruising on the Elation, think twice before you do.  The itinerary is good

Be sure to choose early or late dining. You can always skip a dinner one night if you want a change. Fine dining with staff and perhaps fellow travellers you get to know has always been one of the best experiences when cruising for us.

Please be sure to check your luggage because arriving and departing can be tedious with a lot of waiting in lines and could hurt your shoulders and back and arms. Make it easy on yourself and carry limited luggage. Wear comfortable shoes for all of the stairs with in the ship. Tip the staff well.

Make sure you read your excursion tickets VERY carefully to see tinder times. The start time of the excursion is not always the time you will be leaving the ship. I highly recommend the snorkeling at Half Moon Cay and the Top 10 of Nassau.

Someone suggested bringing an over-the-door shoe organizer. We didn't, but definitely will next time. Four people with multiple pairs of shoes can get messy very quickly!
